Susan was just great. She gave me a quote quickly after I made a request. Price was very reasonable considering the work that needed to be done in the bathroom. She did the work in two days which is what she had figured. It was nice not to have to be home while she did the work. She helped me pick out colors for the rooms which turned out great. The job she did was outstanding and the rooms look beautiful. She cleaned up after herself when finished and I couldn't be happier. I would highly recommend her to others and will use her again with other painting projects.

    Actually Clean Carpets
It was horrible. Actually Clean "misplaced" all of our electronics, stole my kids' piggy banks, my jewlery, took advantage of our insurance company and did a horrendous job of rebuilding our home. They left screws and nails all over our yard (we have kids and animals) and fought us the whole way through to correct their mistakes or poor job. DO NOT USE ACTUALLY CLEAN!

This was awful. It began with me purchasing the "Angie's Deal" for the room and paying up front. I thought I was getting a good deal, but was reminded of "NEVER PAY BEFORE SERVICE IS COMPLETED" rule. Alas, I didn't have a choice. He came to see the space. Said "No problem. Should take 1-2 days." I told him I felt bad that the coupon was not adequate payment for a room that size but he said, "Oh it's ok. Don't worry about it." I offered to pay more. I asked it be completed before Easter...which was over 2 weeks away, and he said he could do that. A few days later he arrived with 2 other guys and set up. It took them most of the day just to set up...easily 3-4 hours due to them stopping often and leaving for large periods of time. They were there for at leat 6-7 hours the first day and not even 1/2 way through. The next day they arrived 4 hours past the time they had said they'd be there, but was only 2 men. Jim, the business owner, was constantly leaving. The 2nd day I could tell they were working hard so I gave Jim a check for $80 to thank him and because I felt the project was worth more than I had paid. BIG mistake. They were there until after 7pm. I was always agreeable with them leaving their stuff there and dealing with the huge mess they had created in the space (I work from home so I was always there). Another day came. Again arriving hours later than agreed on. They stayed until 10:30pm that night, my husband had already gone to bed and I needed to remain available while they were still there. It seemed they were done. They "cleaned up," said that if I noticed anything to let them know ASAP and they'd fix it, I thanked them, and they left. A day later I noticed the spots around the recessed lights had been missed and a few spots on the ceiling. After many failed attempts to get Jim to come, he finally agreed to 8am one morning. 8am came and went. It was 10am and I texted him asking where he was. He responded "I'm on my way." 10:40 and nothing. I called him and left a message that if he couldn't be there in 5-10 minutes to forget it. He responded saying he'd be there. I wish he hadn't. IT GOT REALLY BAD HERE... He arrived as I was needing to leave for my appointment. When I came back he informed me he had spilled some paint. Now, they had already been there for over 2 hours for "touch ups." I went to the kitchen to eat lunch and heard them sanding wood. I was afraid to look. Lots of banging... I cringed. I went back to work and a few hours later they were getting in the truck and just left. Didn't say anything. I went to check the work and about died. The paint they had spilled wasn't even in the room they were painting in. It was in my dining room. Paint all over my expensive wool rug, plants, antique stuffed bench, and another rug. Not to mention, all over the hard wood floors and spatters of paint on my walls. Where he had GOUGED and hit the woodwork of my railings and trim, he had taken CEILING PAINT and tried to cover it up. So, chalky ceiling paint all over my railings, door trim, etc. It looked AWFUL. There were holes in the floor from his scaffolding. He had even splattered white paint on the gray walls he had already painted. It was a MESS. He had set his paint bucket on another rug and leaked thick paint all over that. When I tried to contact him about it he blocked my texts/phone. There was no getting through to him anymore. I spent 4 hours scrubbing the ceiling paint off the woodwork/trim, floors, repainted the wall spots he ruined, repainted the trim/railings, and TRIED to get the paint out of the bench fabric and rug to no avail. What he did was absolute vandalism. He left my home in shambles. I'm considering small claims and also to get my insurance company involved to manage repairs. I will NEVER use Jim again and his lack of professionalism was incredible. Someone like this should not be in business. I learned my lesson...YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

    House Doctors
These guys really know what they're doing. They cut open the sheet rock, added the wood backer board, then buttoned up the sheet rock, painted it, and rehung the shower door securely. It looks the same, but the shower door now closes correctly and firmly, which it did not prior to their excellent analysis and work.

    Cedar Rapids Entry & Window
Gary came out and took a look about three weeks before we were ready for the work. He gave us all the information necessary to order our doors and the necessary hardware recommended.  Once the doors arrived, he scheduled to come out within the week to do the job.  The old storm door was not operating properly due to some issues with how tight the opening was. Gary opened this up and framed in the new door so it would operate properly for years to come. Job started at about 8:45 and was finished at about 3:00.  I will definitely recommend and use CREW again in the future.

    Accents Painting & Wallpapering
Paul was meticulous and timely in his arrival over a 2 week period.  Time was of the essence since we had ordered new carpet, and wanted to finish the painting first.  I should also add that the house was entirely vacant, which helped.  Paul also suggested that we re-paint the baseboard since it was somewhat scuffed after being lived in 15 years.  He has agreed to return once the carpet is installed, and he will touch up the baseboard and re-install the bedroom and closet doors upstairs, using brushed nickel  hardware.  This is a 2 story home, which also has a lower level.  It approximates 2700 square feet, including the lower level, with 4 bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths.  He worked diligently with his son, and contacted me with any questions or insights he had.  I should add that I was out of town during this entire painting job, but my adult son was "camping out" in the house, and was there to monitor
Paul's excellent work.  He was neat, amicable, and talented.  I recommend him highly.

    Jason Asher Drywall
He did a very good job. Had some non-square walls and joints that he had to fix and some uneven walls. After he was complete we primed the walls and found no areas that we needed to be touch up (which he offered to fix after we primed).

Susan was VERY responsive to all my questions. Everything was removed from the room that was to be painted except for three big pieces of furniture that were too awkward to be moved so they were left in the center of the room and were covered with a tarp. Susan brought all of her own supplies and was able to get a high quality, custom paint color for us at a rate that was less then what we could have paid ourselves. The total time to paint the room with two coats was four hours which included her prep time taping and cleaning up. I was very impressed and when we need some of the other rooms in the house painted we will call her first.

    Dollman Construction, Inc
If you are looking for a contractor to remodel existing construction or  build new, look no further.  Jimmy Dollman and his team are outstanding.  The work they did for us was beyond what we had expected . . . AND they did all of this work to property in Boones Mill, Virginia, while we were living in Iowa.
I do feel confident in judging good work from bad because  In previous years, we had remodeling done to our home in Santa Ynez, California.  I would never rehire this company to do so much as build me a dog house.
We had a new $1.2 million dollar house built in Iowa when we moved there from California.  The house was lovely, but it leaked . . . in the two story entry, the living room window, the two-story wall of windows in the family room, in the woodworking shop, in the artist studio and artist supply room, in the wine cellar, in the furnace room, in a bedroom closet . . . .  We took nine years trying to get the company who built the house get the repairs right.  Also, most of the doors in the house no longer shut or latch, the deck fell-apart within two years of construction, and problems with earth sinking away.  A year and a half  ago we gave up on the original contractor and hired a company highly recommended by Angies List.  No more leaks or other problems.  All has been repaired.
So when I tell you that Jimmy Dollman's construction people are the best, I do have experience behind me.
Though we were hundreds of miles away from the construction Jimmy was doing, constant communication, calls and emails, from Jimmy kept us current with the building so we could make decisions.  Jimmy was also able to suggest some extra ideas and find ways of including them at a cost savings to us.  The plans he prepared for the two projects were excellent, while accommodating our special needs.
The day we arrived to use the bedroom constructed by Dollman, there was a worker there with the towel bars and handicap bars so I could decide just where I wanted them and all were quickly installed per my request.  Jimmy knew we would be arriving to spend Christmas with my daughter and her family, so he pushed hard to get the bedroom/study and bathroom ready for our arrival!!
The job was done to perfection . . . AND besides "taking orders" from me (because I paid for the construction), he had to work within  my daughter and son-in-law's wishes (because the house and land belong to them).
We are anxious to get our house in Iowa sold because we are looking forward to working with Jimmy Dollman Construction when we have a new home built for us on a lot we have purchased in Boones Mill, Virginia.
Jimmy is very easy to work with and, without arguement, is willing to take on challenges and find ways to satisfy.  He is a very positive person and with that attitude into the difficult projects, he enjoys finding ways to accomplish the wishes of his clients.  He is right on the spot with all of the "governent", covenant, and legal necessities.
Right now, Jimmy is keeping tabs on our progress  toward moving and building in Boones Mill.  He wants to be prepared when our Iowa home finally sells and we make the move to Virginia.
If you are able to get Dollman Construction to accept you construction request, I know you will be very pleased with your project because Jimmy will make sure it is RIGHT!!!
