    CJ's Asphalt
Chris "CJ" Evans worked very hard, actually well into the evening as it was getting dark. He was professional and seem to really care to get the driveway as clean as he could. We do highly recommend him and would use him again.

    Actually Clean Carpets
It was horrible. Actually Clean "misplaced" all of our electronics, stole my kids' piggy banks, my jewlery, took advantage of our insurance company and did a horrendous job of rebuilding our home. They left screws and nails all over our yard (we have kids and animals) and fought us the whole way through to correct their mistakes or poor job. DO NOT USE ACTUALLY CLEAN!

Bob Lisenbee Siding & Home Improvement
Bob was able to work us into his schedule and do the repair the same day we contacted him. We got the impression he rearranged his schedule to do the job while the weather was still warm for November. Bob stayed in contact to let us know when he would arrive. We did have our own spare siding he used with his tools. He quickly fixed the siding at 6 pm. He was extremely professional and made sure everything fit correctly. Perfection! Really enjoyed our conversations.

    Accents Painting & Wallpapering
Paul was meticulous and timely in his arrival over a 2 week period.  Time was of the essence since we had ordered new carpet, and wanted to finish the painting first.  I should also add that the house was entirely vacant, which helped.  Paul also suggested that we re-paint the baseboard since it was somewhat scuffed after being lived in 15 years.  He has agreed to return once the carpet is installed, and he will touch up the baseboard and re-install the bedroom and closet doors upstairs, using brushed nickel  hardware.  This is a 2 story home, which also has a lower level.  It approximates 2700 square feet, including the lower level, with 4 bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths.  He worked diligently with his son, and contacted me with any questions or insights he had.  I should add that I was out of town during this entire painting job, but my adult son was "camping out" in the house, and was there to monitor
Paul's excellent work.  He was neat, amicable, and talented.  I recommend him highly.

I hadn't had the front of my house cleaned in 6 years. It was beginning to look real bad with mold. I got an estimate that was very fair then called to have the work done. He came out and did a great job. House looks great. I will certainly use him again in the future but not wait 6 years.

    Dan Lynch Construction, Inc.
Dan Lynch is very easy to talk and very responsive to requests.  His workers were diligent, cleaned up after their work each day, and performed repairs that seemed to be impossible, but they were so meticulous that the repairs were perfect.
We had two horrible repair areas at windows that had leaked for years.
Time and time again we had people come in to find the leaks and fix them.  None of them ever stopped the leaks, but Dan and his workers found the two leaks, which proved to be improper installation when we built the house.  One leak was in a 14-foot span of windows, two stories high with 9 foot ceilings on both floors. The windows were surrounded and separated by very ornate wood trim that was painted white.  Once the leak was "actually" repaired, the leak being the above the window where the wall met the soffit, the repairs began.  50% of all of the wood trim on that wall had cracks opened up in wet seams, creating highly visible destruction by the water.  With the tiniest of tools, he very meticulously cleaned out all of the cracks, filled the spans of open breaks in the wood, painted the areas that were patched,  That window also had serious and ugly water damage to the sills which were also repaired. When he finished this project, it was impossible to tell any water damage had ever taken place; it was like new!!
The second very serious leak was in the large front window.  This was another leak that numerous repair people told us they had patched . . . NOT!!!!  Dan Lynches men found the leak, which was caused by a missing piece of the window on the floor above, which was how the builder of our home caused 9 years of leaking in the big window below!!  Dan Lynch and his workers not only found the cause of the water damage, fixed the problem, and repaired the extensive water damage in the big window.  Since the water had leaked in from the floor above, the wall paper had fallen way from the wall around the large window.  The leak had created wood expansion and cracked paint on the window sill and on the mopboard at the floor below.  The span of wallpaper between the the sill and floor had fallen away from the wall.  At the top of the window was the worst damage that ran the entire length of the 10-foot window.  In beginning his repairs the painter poked into the wallboard above the window to remove the damaged area.  The wallboard came down and was so saturated that it had disintegrated into a soft, moldable clay!!  He cleaned away the area above the window, installed a piece of new wallboard, about 9-feet by 5 inches, did all of the plaster and patch netting work and careful sanding.  When that was pristine, he painted the area and when dry, he replaced the wallpaper.  No one would ever know there had been a leak.  The repairs that he did made were more art than a repair!!!
There were numerous problems where simply painting over patched picture holes was not satisfactory because, although, I had all of the original paints, some had dried up.  With my folders of house construction information, I had all of the paint numbers for the house. When he went to have fresh paint made for those dried up, he found that they had changed the base for all of the paints.  The color was a perfect match to the walls, but looking at an angle, there was a different sheen to the original and new paint because of the base change to non-toxic.  A few rooms he had to paint in entirety.  He found that by a clever method of painting up to wall seams or deco wood, an area without a need for patching could be left unpainted by using corners, and other wall breaks as a method of making the paint job look perfect, without having to repaint the entire room.
Over all of the years we worked with contractors for building additions or making repairs in 5 different homes, I never found anyone to compare to Dan Lynch and his crew!!!  Besides the beautiful  repairs, Dan was a very patient and responsive man.  I would hire Dan Lynch again and highly recommend him to people needing help with their home.

    Cook Fence Company
I was very happy with the whole experience.  After my initial call, they came and provided an estimate.  They performed the installation sooner than expected - original time frame was 3 weeks.  I made a last-minute change to the size of one gate and it was not a problem.  The crew (3 men) showed up early and I walked through the plan to confirm with the lead person.  Then they got right to work. They didn't have a problem when I came out to see how it was coming.  I also asked them a few questions throughout the installation and they were very nice and provided good answers.  They cleaned up after themselves and didn't leave a mess.  I am very pleased with the result.

    Cook Fence Company
I called Cook fence for an estimate. The estimator came to my house on schedule and he was very professional and courteous. He listened to my concerns and explained different options. He also mentioned about locating property pins..Within a few days, I received an estimate by mail. Cook's estimate was somewhat higher than another provider. So I did not go with Cook's fence for the installation.

    D & N Fence
D&N came on schedule to measure for the estimate. The person was courteous and listened to my concerns on the gate on one side of the fence. The estimates came by mail within a few days as promised. D&N's estimate was a little cheaper than the estimate from another provider for the same quality. I hired D&N to provide the service.
D&N called within a week to schedule an installer. The actual date for installation was two eeks earlier than initially anticipated. The installation went smooth. The installer was very courteous and knowledgable to answer our questions on the fence. Overall, the installation was completed very professionally. I was very happy with D&N's service. I would highly recommend them for another fence installation.

    CertaPro Painters of Cedar Rapids
It worked out very well. They acted very professionally. They did it in a timely manner and the cost was as predicted. As I recalled it, it took them a little awhile to clear out some of their equipment but it was not a big deal.
