  • Words cannot adequately express how pleased we are with our new shower. We absolutely love it! Sid and Toby were very patient and accommodating throughout the process and the installer, Ryan, was a true professional who really knows his trade. This is a beautiful walk-in shower, with a lovely glass door & enclosure, sold and installed by true craftsmen. If you are remodeling a bathroom, these folks should be your first call!

  • Mike has worked with me on several projects since I moved tomy new home in July 2016. I originally asked for a quote on a basement bathroom. He not only completed that beautifully but he painted my whole house interior, built a wall and so much more. He listened to my ideas, had great suggestions and made me feel like we were working as a team. He is so easy to work with and is a true professional. I heartily recommend him. • Removed old tub and surround and installed new fan lights and repaired drywall with no problems.  New surround was supposed to go all the way to the ceiling, they cut it short and left a 1/2 inch gap at the ceiling.  there were 8 corner shelves for shower products installed. Approximately 4 were tilted back toward the corner allowing water to pool.  Eventually water would infiltrate this corner and cause damage to the underlying wall as the corner are just caulked.  Called the manager.  he was very responsive and offered 3 options to fix the problem.  The first involved replacing the back wall of the surround and reposition the shelves, 1-2 weeks to order product, the second involved a trim piece at the ceiling and reposition shelves and the third was a combination of the two.  We chose to wait and order the new back wall of the surround.  The manager was very responsive and helpful.  I have no complaints with the customer service, just don't think it should of ever been needed.

  • Chris is professional and very through. Even though he has sub contractors to do the labor, he was here at the start of each project, several times during the day, and at the end to assure everything was completed to my satisfaction. He even offered and replaced my door knob without me asking for this, which shows his attention to detail and speaks to his desire to do a job well. .

  • We had nothing but an exceptional experience from the time we walked through the door at AIM last summer until completion this April. We were very impressed with the business philosophy of AIM. They have you choose everything you will have in your new space, order it and have it in their warehouse before the work begins, so there is no waiting for a part or piece once the work begins. They have their own in house plumbers and carpenters and sub contractors who are immediately responsive to AIM requests for services. Therefore, the projects run as smoothly as it can.. Within a few appointments with Alex, their designer (and he is absolutely fabulous!) we had chosen everything we needed to choose. My husband was so delighted with Alex's help and the way he broke down all our choices to manageable choices. He is an interior designer with a decade or more of experience. His help, input, and trained eye were invaluable to us and was certainly reflected in the final project.

Then we waited. If there is one negative about AIM it is that they have a long waiting list. You are added to their calendar when you sign a contract with them. We can see why they have a long list of jobs waiting. They are worth waiting for! Once the contract is signed and a down payment of half is made, you are set to go as soon as they work down their list. The very good thing about this contract is that they itemize everything including estimated labor. They go over it in detail with you. When you sign the contract AIM assumes any deviation from the estimate with the exception of mold and termites so your costs never run over what you contracted for. And we can attest that they really mean this!!!

Once the project started we were just as pleased with AIM. The guys were here every day a little after 8:00 and remained until the days work was cleaned up and organized for the next day. Even though our project was very extensive, we never had a dumpster. Each day a truck came to haul the days' debris away. That same driver delivered any material the guys might need so they never had to leave the job site. The guys were very good about leaving our home as usable as possible at the end of each day.

And what great guys! They were thoughtful, pleasant, very professional and very talented. We were incredibly pleased with the quality of workmanship and to have it delivered by such nice people was a delightful bonus.

We have watched as our friends and family had kitchen remodels done and we dreaded this project based on their experiences, but they didn't use AIM. Those who had been through this process in their homes were amazed. The project took about 12 weeks total but we had a functioning kitchen in 8 weeks!

The result is nothing short of beautiful. Our kitchen is a delight to look at and wonderfully functional. It is a joy to cook in this kitchen.

Their attention to detail was as if they were doing the job for their own mothers. They anticipated small details even before we could. Their follow up was exceptional, too. What they promised, they delivered. They heard our concerns carefully and were generously responsive.

We will use AIM for any future needs we have and we highly recommend them to family and friends and anyone who wants a wonderfully professional contractor.

  • Darius was very patient and listened to my concern. We made a few trips to tile stores and he explained the pros and cons of each materials. When a problem came up he was able to fix the issue after notifying me immediately. He recommended a sliding glass door which we ended up doing. He was very knowledgeable in design and materials. He was very easy to work with.

  • Des Moines, you will be shocked but there is an honest contractor working in the area.
Rick spent two hours in my home just to give me an estimate.    He not only diagnosed the
problem with the subfloor and underlayment, he also showed me other problems in
my home.    It was amazing how much he could tell about my house by just walking through it.  If I ever sell this house and buy another, I will hire Rick to inspect the new home long before signing any purchase
documents.    Rick is much more knowledgeable than any home inspector I have ever hired in my life, and I have
hired several.   He is honest and not in the pocket of any homebuilder in the area.
Rick gave me an estimate well under other estimates I had received and stood behind his estimate regardless of what he found when
demolition began.   Unfortunately, the developer of this house, Jerry?s Homes of Des Moines, had done such an
unprofessional job the demotion turned out to be a project that had to include use of a jack hammer to get the out underlayment out.    He corrected the structural problems, which included leveling out some flooring and fixing a place where the developer had
not attached the subfloor to the joists.   I estimate that he saved me at least $6,000 over the next closest
    bidder.
Although I had assumed that the new tiles would be placed in the standard straight-line way, he took the time to go to the tile store and show me other possibilities for my floor.   He turned a drab floor into something I will be proud of for years.    Although there were additional costs for the special layout, he was reasonable and I am so glad he had the design capabilities to make my floor look outstanding.
He took the time to do everything right; making sure the underlayment actually strengthened the subfloor that will prevent future
fractures and repaired the other developer defects.     It was so fantastic to find an honest, Christian contractor who I could trust without question.    He never cut corners in making sure this job was done right.    He cares about the customer?s happiness with the finished product and has amazing design ideas.    He is a contractor who wanted me to be to be happier with the finished product than I would have dreamed.
Although I wish the project could have been done faster, I knew that I was working with a craftsman not just a contractor.   It is shameful, but finding a true craftsman is a Godsend.   He knew I was a disabled veteran with limited resources, and he made sure to stay within the budget I had for this project.  He was not just here for just the paycheck; he was here to give me the most value for my
money.    That is so extremely rare these days.
He not only did the flooring work I asked for, he fixed a doorknob, installed a new ceiling chandelier, and fixed some very poor
woodworking done by the developer.   He wanted my home to be right.    His ideas are fantastic and as I can accumulate the funds, I will follow his lead because I cannot find a reason to disagree with his sense of style or functionality.
I would recommend him to anyone in the Des Moines area and already have; he is the best I have ever worked with in my life.   I am including pictures of his work, I am proud to show these to the world.    He has made my house both increased in value and shortened resale time, which was not may goal, but made it a house that I can live in and take such great pride
I live in such a home.   My neighbors are drooling over the project and I am sure I am making a few husbands angry in my
neighborhood.    I know giving him this review on Angie?s list is great; I will be giving his name to anyone who has
any home improvement needs.    I can recommend him without reservation.   I have projects that will take some time to save money for, but I already know whom my contractor will be.    He will be the one to update my baths and change my shower from plastic to beautiful tile.     He will be putting in an on demand water heater and utility sink in my shop.    I have jobs for him for years to come; as
the funds are available he will be my craftsman.
Do not hesitate to call Rick if you have a problem or just want an upgrade.    He is the man for the job and will deliver more than you could imagine.

  • Please make sure you keep on top of all activity. Pete is a great, nice guy, and they do do competent work, but details are missed, forgotten, or changed without notice. I suggest getting all details down on paper and check through as work is performed. The main reason we would not use again is because of this (they ordered wrong style of several items, including the cabinets!, had incorrect parts, and changed one design without asking). The work they do is fine, just not stellar. I think you can tell an AIM finished product in any house as they are very even and very similar. Nothing wrong with that mainstream look, just don't expect a wow factor. If you want cookie cutter results, done well but competent craftsman, look no further. But if you want a worry free experience or have special things you want done, go elsewhere.

  • THis is the third time I"ve used tony's service this year. very responsive, fair pricing. a bonus is they have a BIG truck with everything they need on it. i had read that in a review, and it's true and definitely makes for a more cost-effective project. the plumber was very respectful and considerate of my home and i didn't have to clean up after him. Highly recommend.

  • Large remodeling projects are stressful but working with an experience contractor like Pat on this project helped to calm our nerves. The difference this project made is unbelieveable - look at the pictures! The windows are beautiful, the flooring and cabinets are perfect, and we couldn't be happier with all the changes the fireplace and hearth. Pat worked so hard to complete this project and was a perfectionist in his wood working details. The reason the work came in higher than the estimate had to do with unexpected demo work and cost of specialty materials.
