Obgyn Care reviews in Iowa City

University Of Iowa Hospital & Clinic
I was given a diagnosis of pre-cancer after another doctor had continually treated me for a yeast infection. Because of the careful treatment I received at University of Iowa, I am now cancer free. All of the staff have been warm, caring and treated me with respect.
As a 3 time cancer survivor, I can freely say that without the kind of support the doctors, nurses and staff of U of I gives its patients, it is all too easy to give up the fight.

I like my doctor there. Sometimes I do have to wait quite a bit for my appointment. They are not very punctual. The staff is friendly. They have a great bedside manner. They get back to me right away when I call them.

    Kolder, Dr. Veronika
I guess I pretty much summed up everything in the above statement really.  If I could, I'd sing Dr. Kolder's praises all day and night along with her staff! Her Medical Assistant that came over from her private practice, Kari, is a DOLL.  She too deserves praise all in her own right.  She can tell if it is a good or a bad day for you and is compensating.  She is really easy going and has a beautiful energy about her that leads to making you feel very comfortable about where you are. She along with the rest of the staff is very knowledgeable in all that they  do.  But Kari has always stood out to me as one that goes a bit beyond the rest and will reach for the stars when she is able.  A wonderful team the two of these women make. And as a whole the UI Women's Health is OUTSTANDING. Some people say that because it is at a university level of service you are just a number - a patient, not a real human.  But that is WRONG WRONG WRONG!!! I'm sure there may be a few lingering in the closets, but, overall, most of the doctors and staff and THIS university care facility SEE the human factor and FEEL the human factor.  So don't be afraid of the size of the U.  Be comforted by the fact that you will have the best of the best working FOR YOU.  Remember, doctor's do work FOR YOU, if they don't - fire them and move on!

I was impressed by how fast I was in and out.  I was simply there for my yearly exam and the whole appointment couldn't have taken more than 10 minutes.  Right down to the point and up front about if I have any questions or needed anything else.

They have been great to work with. All of the staff is extremely friendly and always willing to go above and beyond to make you comfortable and resolve any concerns that one may have with the treatment options. The doctors are very knowledgeable about uncommon conditions that may affect the pregnancy and willing to discuss your options in an open and helpful manor.

Service provider would not listen to concerns about her recommended treatment. When we asked question about the recommended treatment she was not helpful and sounded annoyed that we were looking for more information. After seeking advice from a specialists in Mayo Clinic we changed to a high risk physician at the University of Iowa. If we would have followed her initial recommendation we would have spent thousands on unneeded drugs and possible put the baby and mother in danger.

My appointment was for 8am, I sat in the waiting room, alone, for 22 minutes. Once my P.A. arrived, the appointment went well. She asked a lot of questions while I was dressed, and the once I was undressed for my annual exam she was so fast it could have been done in 1 minute flat. It was fantastic. Had I not waited in the waiting room as one of the 1st appointments of the day 22 minutes, I could have been seen and pulling out of the parking lot within that amount of time. They did have to draw labs and they have subcontracted the lab to a neighboring lab in the building. The billing issues I have had with Lab Corp is a matter between Lab Corp and my three insurance companies. Lab Corp only allows one at a time billing. So we bill the insurer in 1st place, and wait. And repete three times. because of LabCorp's single-payor-system they themselves created. The billing for any labs processed through LapCorp isn't worth the blood shed. Aside from the place the clinic subcontracts, I had a better-than-average experience
