    Hess, Dr. Lisa
I was a new patient who was having some "concerns", they got me in right away and scheduled more tests right away after that. Every time I arrive at the office, I never wait more than a few minutes before being seen. The nursing staff is amazing and always return calls quickly.

    OB-GYN Associates, P.C.
Appointment was quick and efficient. Dr. Bussewitz or the nurse are always willing to take the extra time and answer any questions. I've been using OB-GYN Associates since November, along the way I've had appointments with one other Dr., a Nurse Practitioner, and multiple lab personnel. Most of my experiences with the practice have been great. The only appointment I wasn't happy with was the one check-up I had with the nurse practitioner. She was rude, abrupt and more than a little bit condescending. I wouldn't schedule another appointment with her. Otherwise, I've had a great experience and will use the practice and Dr. Bussewitz for any future pregnancies and ob-gyn appointments.

She's the best OB/GYN I've ever been to, and I'm thankful to be a patient. She's everything you want in a doctor: knowledgeable, highly competent, kind, caring, efficient, and is patient about answering questions. I cannot think of one, single negative thing to say about her. Additionally, the staff are fantastic, too. They are very good at putting the patient at ease and making you feel like you're more than just a number. Lastly, I'd like to add that this office's punctuality is very comendable. I cannot recall ever waiting for more than 10 minutes.

Dr. Pickering asked many easy to understand questions until he narrowed possibilities down to a couple of  likely culprits.  The treatment for one possibility was so effective that I have not tried the second type of treatment.

    Kolder, Dr. Veronika
I guess I pretty much summed up everything in the above statement really.  If I could, I'd sing Dr. Kolder's praises all day and night along with her staff! Her Medical Assistant that came over from her private practice, Kari, is a DOLL.  She too deserves praise all in her own right.  She can tell if it is a good or a bad day for you and is compensating.  She is really easy going and has a beautiful energy about her that leads to making you feel very comfortable about where you are. She along with the rest of the staff is very knowledgeable in all that they  do.  But Kari has always stood out to me as one that goes a bit beyond the rest and will reach for the stars when she is able.  A wonderful team the two of these women make. And as a whole the UI Women's Health is OUTSTANDING. Some people say that because it is at a university level of service you are just a number - a patient, not a real human.  But that is WRONG WRONG WRONG!!! I'm sure there may be a few lingering in the closets, but, overall, most of the doctors and staff and THIS university care facility SEE the human factor and FEEL the human factor.  So don't be afraid of the size of the U.  Be comforted by the fact that you will have the best of the best working FOR YOU.  Remember, doctor's do work FOR YOU, if they don't - fire them and move on!

    Hess, Dr. Lisa
I see Dr. Hess there. She's an OBGYN and she really listens to her patients. She makes me feel very comfortable. She is very thorough with diagnoses and explaining procedures. She is very friendly and she is very thorough with communication. She mailed exactly what I had and was able to take care of it. The office is extremely clean and the staff has always been extremely friendly even when you are in a situation where you are a little nervous. They are very friendly and sympathizing. Sometimes they can run a little behind like any doctors office.

I was given a diagnosis of pre-cancer after another doctor had continually treated me for a yeast infection. Because of the careful treatment I received at University of Iowa, I am now cancer free. All of the staff have been warm, caring and treated me with respect. As a 3 time cancer survivor, I can freely say that without the kind of support the doctors, nurses and staff of U of I gives its patients, it is all too easy to give up the fight.
