    Better Home Remodelers
The work that Drew Davis and his crew of Better Home Remodelers did, surpassed my expectations. Better Home Remodelers transformed the bathroom by their detailed and beautiful work. Even to this day, I still notice exacting touches they did that now sets my bathroom apart from what I see in most homes. I was out of town for an extended period and they chose colors for the paint and counter top that are stunning. Since the bathroom was finished I've contracted Better Home Remodelers for other services. They are great!

    Service was horrible!
First we had to go twice to pick the granite because office communications messed up...sales (Mirela, owners wife) sold the piece we picked out and labeled....claiming it was already picked by another customer even though it was not tagged.
Secondly, took 3 weeks beyond the original two weeks that was quoted. When our contractor checked on status...the owner claimed, Mirela was waiting on a call back from me to schedule an on site measurement...claimed she left me a voice message on my cell...two weeks had gone by...but she didn't bother to call me again...I searched all inbound calls on my phone bill and none of their 3 phone numbers showed up...which tells me she lied...I offered to share our phone statements and have him find their phone number...he claims no need because he is sure she called....really??
Our contractor made a special trip to their site to assure them that our vanity is free standing and that there was no need for them to come and measure on site...and that he would absorb any problems if his measurements were incorrect.  He wanted them to give them a commit to a date to deliver.  They wouldn't give him a firm date...not even a "week of" date.
My contractor offered for me to call the owner Florian...then I found out the bottom line...his attitude and his MO.  He said our job was just a small job...they don't make money on it....the ones they commit to their schedule are the ones they make the most money on...said our contractor was just small he get's low our job was just a remnant job so he schedules it as a fill-in...when things slow down....this is why he couldn't commit to a date.
When I said...that is disappointing....doesn't entice to refer him to other potential customers....he then said (this was the biggest surprise!!)..."we don't need referrals".  WOW!!
Once installed quality was good....but it was frustrating and very surprising a business owner would have that kind of business philosophy and attitude towards customers... large or small.
Lastly, Mirela was a bit seemed that since we were not the contractor...we were treated like we didn't know much.
Would not recommend this business to anyone!!

    Hamm's Home Interiors
I have a lot of great design ideas for my mid-century modern home, but I turned to Hamm's because I had never put in a kitchen before, and I thought that their expertise was what I needed.  The plans, which took two months to get, were nothing amazing or exciting--I was very unimpressed. (and prefer what I came up with at Menard's)  The only surprising part was the prices, which were high!!!
A 'retro' countertop would cost me $798, vs. $150 for a plain fomica one at Menard's. Which brings up a sore point with me--she called my whole project 'retro' and doesn't seem to know mid century modern--which I view as a huge deficit (and shocking!), for an interior designer.
Her presentation to me, of my project in their store was not very professional either--I think she viewed my project as a small job that she probably wouldn't get anyway, and as a result--she sure won't!

    L & D Tile-Granite Countertops
I can't say enough good things about Lazaro and his group. I had visited several granite stores in Winston and felt unhappy with the selection and cost. Lazaro was recommended to me by a contractor I trust quite a lot, and so I made the drive down to see them. He matched the island granite to the granite in the rest of the kitchen perfectly, and it looks fantastic. The work in the bathroom was phenomenal. Lazaro included the two sinks in his price, and even upgraded me to the nicer higher end sinks for no extra charge as I was bringing multiple projects to him at once. The day of the installation, they showed up exactly on time (to the minute) and had removed the old counters, replaced them with the new ones, installed the sinks, installed the faucets (I purchased these myself), and redone the plumbing underneath all within 3-4 hours. They were polite, prompt, fast, and clean.

I would like to add one more thing to demonstrate why I recommend Lazaro and L&D tile and granite so highly. After I selected my piece of granite, they were preparing to cut it when the whole piece fractured (likely due to an inherent imperfection in the granite). He called me immediately and asked me if I'd like to look at other pieces he had instead. I was a bit upset as I'd already picked out and purchased paint and faucets to match the original granite. Without any hesitation, Lazaro said he would take care of it, and purchased a new piece of matching granite to replace it all at cost to him. It's rare to work with someone so pleasant, honest, and willing to make things right if they go wrong. I would have been happy with L&D tile and granite even if the price had another $1000 tagged on, and I'd likely still have come under the estimates I received at several other stores.

    Hamm's Home Interiors
Process to determine our needs, select the materials, provide quotes was done well and with enough detail so we knew what to expect.  Schedule coordination was excellent, explained delays and unexpected incidents.  Work crew was reliable and honorable.  Change orders were handled efficiently.

She was excellent and she did a good job.  We were very happy.  She ended like to be a general contractor and she hired some staff.  We had a fair price from what we ended up doing.  She is busy but she was still prompt.  Whenever we were ready to do something, she was ready.  It wasn't a cookie cutter job but the good news is she is a participator and the bad news is she is a participator.  We were involved, we had some ideas and we had her do what we wanted to do.  I just find her very pleasant to deal with.

Gary was very professional and honest from start to finish. He was very prompt in responding to all our questions and getting a quote back to us. He set up the installation date well in advance and Gary and his staff did an excellent job of installation and clean up during and after the job. I would highly recommend his services. The finished project looks great.

Every aspect was timely and very professional. Counters were fabricated and installed earlier than promised. All personnel were very professional and pleasant to deal with. The installers were particularly tidy, and pleasant craftsman who obviously took pride in their work. My counters look great! I am extremely pleased.

    Hamm's Home Interiors
We had gotten three estimates from other locations, but Hamm's was the only company who actually came out to see the space and measure it before working on the estimate.  We worked with Helen, who was professional and a joy to work with.  One corner cabinet came and was incorrect, and the company made a new one and had it delivered the next week.  Hamm's recommended a countertop installer, who was punctual and professional as well.  We would recommend Hamm's, paticularly the designer we worked with.
