    Dodge St Tire and Atuo
We did a full brake replacement in the fall of 2017. In the spring of 2018, the front brakes started pulsating very badly. We took it in to Dodge St Tire, and they replaced a front brake and rotor under warranty - no charge. We forgot to even mention that the brakes had just recently been replaced, but they saw this in our service records and replaced the faulty brake and rotor under warranty. I suppose they could have taken advantage of us, but they are always honest. As a result, we have been loyal customers for many years.

Not only were all members of the staff very friendly, courteous, and attentive, but they accommodated me in ways I did not think were possible. I told them that I was very sensitive to smells and chemicals, and the last time I had a body-shop experience, my car was so full of VOC's I got sick. Well, before I could finish my story, Jim said, No problem, we will keep the windows rolled up, and any time we are not actively working on the car, we'll park it outside. At the end, my car did not even smell inside. BUT WAIT, there's more! Jim questioned me on an unrelated problem I had with my ignition, which he discovered. I told him I had tried to talk to the dealership, but they had blown me off. He immediately offered to do research on it, and he even wanted to take it to the dealership himself to talk to them! This place is total customer service at its best.

Their service was pretty good. I'd give them all A's. They ended up staying later because of my work. They were accommodating. They were pretty detailed and they checked all the electric stuff. They looked at the tires. There was a dent on the car at that time and they gave a very good price to fix it and do body work on it. When I called, there was someone to pick up the phone.

They work on BMW cars. They have pretty good prices and service. They were pretty decent about doing everything well. My work ends up at 5:00 and they are supposed to close at 5:00 but they stayed an hour later to accommodate my time. They've done it pretty quickly. Their price is good. They're not always open on the weekend. I called them after the New Year and on the website, it says they're open but they're actually close. They accommodated me pretty well.

Went really well.  Had my front pads replaced before going here.  The previous place wouldn't look at my rear drum breaks because they were worried about rust.  I only told the guy that i heard my breaks and wanted him to look at them.  I knew full well the front pads were fine and that the entire back assembly was done in.  He told me what I already knew (so he is honest) and charged me a fair price.  Great place with great people.

I thought they were awesome. I got a really solid explanation as to what was happening with my car and what I liked most is that they were willing to go through and look at anything I needed them to (free of charge since I was already getting service). Because of that, I was able to see that someone else was actually trying to charge me for something that I didn't need fixed. Also, the way they walked me through what was happening with my car and were able to hear out my thought process so that I understood exactly what work I did need to get done there and in the future (for some lingering things) was great. I trust basically no one when it comes to getting work done on my car and now I know I'm going back to them for everything. I know this sounds like a planted and scripted review, but with as awful as my history has been in 5 different states that I've lived in, it's good to know I can go somewhere and not get robbed.

I know where I am going for all future repairs. A mechanic that tells you, your car with 150k miles is in good condition rather than listing things that need to be fixed right away in my opinion can be trusted.

They spent well over two hours trying to trouble shoot the problem.  They took apart and inspected as many areas as they could to try and eliminate all other possible sources of the problem.   It was determined that the problem was likely in the transmission or related parts of the drive train.
After all that work, they didn't charge me a thing -- zero.  They said the problem would have to be addressed by a transmission shop and they were sorry they couldn't help me.  The time they spent trying to find my problem cost them money - they had to pay the mechanic for his time to do the problem search.  They didn't charge me a dime.  That's fantastic customer service.
I go to Dodge Street Tire for all my work, and we have 6 vehicles across the family.  There is always something to be done among the 'fleet', from routine maintenance, to tires, brakes, and an assortment of other problems to be fixed.  I drop the car off, and they give me a ride to work. They call when the work is finished, or if they find a problem that they need to discuss with me.  Totally professional and totally customer focused.  They pick me up at work (or home, or wherever I am) so that I can get the car and head home.   The prices are fair and the work is first rate.   They go out of their way to help every customer, but really shine for long time customers who they know will be back for repeat business.  This is how a service business should be run.
Don't let the name of the company fool you.  They do much more than tires.  They have replaced broken door handles, rear hatch latches, dash lights, window switches, etc. etc.  Other than engine and transmission replacements, and major body work, there is pretty much nothing they can't handle.  I couldn't recommend a service provider any more highly.

Service was great. Got in quickly, and fixed within a few days! In Monday out Thursday.  They went out of their way to get me a rental car before my son's tball game. They also noticed that my oil change was overdue, so they called me to see if I wanted them to do it. Yes! Nicest people, treat you like family. My car looks brand new! They dealt with the insurance people after my repairs cost more than they were paid. Would recommend!!!

    IOWA CITY TIRE & SERVICE
My 82 year old  mother did not need a brake job and the rotors were replaced without her being contacted regarding the additional cost of those rotors. Further, they did an air-conditioning leak test and charged her for dye and for freon although they did not find a leak therefore no freon should have been needed. The brake job was the first one ever done on her 2012 Camry, which is only driven in town and has under 25,000 miles on it. She does not speed nor does she ride the brakes excessively and at best the pads should have been installed and the rotors turned since it was her first brake job on this car. Also they only did her rear brakes (thank god) which tend to wear out long after the front brakes so this was additionally a bit fishy. Two years ago I had them change my oil and rotate my tires prior to going on a cross country trip. I got about 40 miles from town and my car started shaking violently so I pulled over on the interstate to find that all of my lug nuts were loose. I was able to tighten them enough to get into a nearby town where they were tightened with an air wrench and luckily none of the bolts on the hub were damaged. When I returned to Iowa City I had them double check the lugs at their request and they were of course very apologetic for the incompetent act  which could have ended up very badly for me and the family members who were also in my vehicle. At that time I also had them take a look at my radiator because on the trip I lost a little bit of fluid. I had asked them to do this prior to leaving and they'd said there was no visible problem. This time they told me they pulled off the shroud and were recommending that I replace the radiator because they found a small leak. I did at a cost of $1,200. The day after picking it up there was radiator fluid all over the ground near my vehicle at work and it was because the lower radiator hose clamp was never put back on. I took it in and they aplogized, replaced the clamp and then filled the radiator back up. That very night my radiator leaked again, this time time because the upper radiator hose clamp was not properly installed and it was tightened but not over the flange so it was not serving any purpose. I believe doing grossly incompetent work for me and ripping off my elderly mother make this business one that you should stay away from at all costs. I would recommend Linder Tire for all your brake and tire needs.
