Shaun did a very good job, took his time to get some finicky locks correct & even opened a locked antique secretary for us. The price was reasonable for the amount of work done.

I thought that the deadbolt lock would need to be replaced but he was actually able to repair it and it works great now. He also did a good job getting the two doors to latch correctly again, and he did it all for a very low cost. Highly recommended!

The job went well from start to finish.  Someone arrived to do the job with an hour of initial contact, which was quick for a Saturday afternoon.  Upon arrival, he asked me what I wanted done and followed me to each lock.  He made sure he understood exactly what I wanted before he started.  Upon completion, he had me test every key in every lock to make sure they worked, as well as checking that the old keys did not work.  He gave me some basic lock/deadbolt maintenance tips, which was appreciated.  The whole job took about an hour and a half, which was a little longer than he told me, but that didn't bother me.  A second person showed up halfway through the job - he helped out the first guy, but it was never explained why he was there.  All in all, it was a job well done for a price that was reasonable.  I would recommend them.

It was wonderful. They worked with me on what time to come to the house. They did 4 locks in under 1 hour. The techinician was informative and tried to help me find ways to save money. When he did his checklist of items to discuss, he wasn't pushy, he just wanted me to think about my safety. He had some good insight on how someone could break into my home.

Shaun came within 20 minutes of my all, as promised during the call, was friendly and attentive from the get-go, and after some questions were answered went to work on the front door lock, as that was the door I had come out of.  He said it was quite the challenging lock after a few minutes and wanted to check if any other door might be an easier entrance.  As it turned out, the back one was; he was unable to undo the deadbolt and get me in in less than five minutes. Given Shaun's remarkable punctuality and professionalism, his rates are extremely reasonable.  He was personable and didn't ask anything that he didn't need to know about in order to do his job, while still remarking on how at least I chose a nice-weather day to get locked out (it was 70-ish degrees in mid-September).  He also trusts his customers; I did not have my ID on me and said that I had left it inside, which I'm sure could have come across as a dishonest attempt to enter someone else's home, but he worked with me anyway. No damage or mess was left behind, no unpleasant surprises, just reliable service.  I'd recommend Shaun to anyone.

We bought a house, so had all locks changed. Found out the front door deadbolt only unlocked from the outside (whose brainchild was that?!). Because it's an old house, they had to be creative in finding something that worked, and that also looked like it belonged there. It was so nice that they paid attention to aesthetics as well as function! They did an excellent job.

We had called around other locksmiths around the area to get a quote. Midwest Lock and Security was the only one that picked up promptly and answered all my quotes-related questions thoroughly so that I had a good idea of what my services were going to be and how much they were going to cost. After a couple of days, I called to schedule an appointment and wanted the services to be rendered as soon as possible. To my surprise, they were able to do it that very afternoon! The service professional, Rodney, was very courteous and thorough. There was a minor glitch because someone had taken one of his tools and he requested to come back the next day for the installation of deadbolt. I was flexible, so I was able to reschedule for the next day. On the next day, I called and asked if he could come in earlier than what we scheduled. He said, and quot;Absolutelyand quot;, and we were able to take care of the business five hours before it was scheduled. The services went normally and we even got a discount for the inconvenience! I would highly recommend Midwest Lock and Security to anybody needing a locksmith. I give them an A.

Called to make appointment and they agreed to the day and time needed. They called ahead of time before arrival to verify. They checked all the lock, re keyed them and also lubricated them. Very professional and neat with the work.

He did a great job! He showed up on time and was very professional. I am a single woman and he even put an extra heavy duty lock on my door. He wouldn't leave until he knew everything was taken care of.

I was out of town, and my daughter was house and dog sitting for the weekend. She managed to lock her self outside at 1:00am on a Saturday morning. She called me and I told her to go back to her apartment and that I would find someone in the morning.  I started calling locksmiths around 7:30am. Shaun was the fourth company I called. The first one hung up on me, and the other two didn't call back. He answered phone on the first few rings and was willing to come immediately. When I explained that I might have to have my other daughter (with our home address on her drivers license) drive from Ames, he said to have her call him when she got to the metro area. I was having difficulty getting hold of my daughter in Ames. Shaun called me after about 45 minutes to make sure he hadn't missed her call. He said that he was going to head out to get breakfast and to call when she was on her way. I called the daughter that was locked out and found out that her drivers license still had our address so she headed back to the house and I called Shaun to let him know that someone was headed there. About 15 minutes later I got a phone call from Shaun letting me know the house was unlocked. He took my credit card info over the phone and texted me a link to the receipt. The cost was reasonable and exactly what he had quoted me. My daughter called me five minutes later and told me that Shaun was very professional and pleasant, and she felt very comfortable with him and a trainee that he brought along. Next time, he will the FIRST person I call. Just a word of advice for anyone needing a locksmith to let you into a home. You should make sure that you have proof that you live at the residence. In my case, I was lucky that my daughters hadn't changed their addresses on their licenses yet.
