  • On September 10th, I was charged on my credit card for a service visit to fix a problem with our internet service.  The service technician was ordered to come out to our address to fix the problem that we had.  The problem that we had is that we never were able to use our internet service with any reliability.  The service would sometimes connect and sometimes not connect, and when it did connect you could not move to different internet sites effectively or surf the web whatsoever.  On the day the service technician came out to the site to fix the issue (which was the same service technician that installed the service to begin with), he replaced both the modem and the radio on the satellite to fix the problem.  He spent well over two hours on the phone with the service provider and working on problems.  When he was done, he came out and said that he made the aforementioned repairs and said that it was working better now.  My wife went to check on the internet service while we were finishing up some paperwork.  As we finished the paperwork, my wife came out of the den from where our computer is and reports that the internet is still running the same as before (which means that it did not work at all).  However, before all this ever happened I was assured by the internet service provider that I would not ever receive a service charge because they couldn't ever make it work through their over the phone customer service support, and I spent three afternoons with their over the phone customer service technicians.  As a result, they came to terms (which we originally had to order and provide a credit card number for, but later was told we wouldn't be charged when I talked to one of their managers) that the best route was for a service technician to come to the residence and fix the internet service on their dime.
    Finally, the end result of all of this was that I had to cancel my internet service, return the equipment that was installed, and force the internet service provider to waive any cancellation fees as they could not really provide and sort of effective service at my residence.  Now after the service has been canceled, I received a service charge for $128.40 on my credit card.  I don't believe that I should have been charged anything for several reasons, first the equipment and service has never worked appropriately, and the service technician was never able to fix anything during the service which I was assured would not be billed to me.  I have tried to call and discuss the lack of services rendered with AGSL Technology, but they are not interested in discussing their responsibility in this matter or the poor service they provided.  Any complaint they receive has to be completed via email, and then they pick and choose facts to suit their needs to justify their actions.
