Everything went great. Fast, prompt, knowledgeable technicians. Nothing we can think of that would need to change. We would recommend their service to anyone looking for a large land line service or commerical work.

The Mediacom technicians arrived and came and looked at my wiring. Thankfully, it took them only about 15 minutes to hook everything up. The were very friendly and professional. I have had absolutely no problems with my phone service. It can take a while to get someone on the line for technical support when you call them, but they are helpful when you do talk with someone. Mediacom has great prices on their services when you bundle them. I am paying only .99 for six months for my phone service. When it goes up to $29.99 a month in January, that rate is competitive with other phone providers. The cable is a great deal. I was paying nearly twice as much a month for satellite service. Satellite companies offer great introductory prices, but when the costs goes to its regular level, it's pretty expensive.

    CenturyLink Inc
I have been using their services since I bought my house in 2005 and I like the fact that I can get both my internet and landline services in one place. Unfortunately I would like to drop my landline service but I can't do that because it's all rolled into one package. My overall experience with them is fine.

They had to reset the modem and they walked me through that. I spend monthly on them. I will continue to use them unless I can find something cheaper.

They were fine. I don't really have any complaints. Everything works and so I don't really have any issues. The internet was ridiculously slow, but that's because of the area of town that we lived in. It was sort of rural. So we didn't have super high speed. We weren't eligible for that because of where we lived. The customer service was awful. If you had a problem, it was terrible because you had to wait forever on hold. Most of the time they didn't solve your problem. It was pretty bad as far as customer service. They would get 'F.' For the area that we lived in, the price was reasonable. I would never use them again for house phone and internet and that sort of stuff.

Even contacting them via e-mail takes a long time to get a response, IF you get one at all. Sometimes you're told to call a different number, then it's the same old story...wait, and wait. They have a television ad advertizing their wonderful service, which always brings a laugh!

    Magic Jack
My Magic Jack arrived only a couple of days after I ordered it. I had no problems installing it. Then the honeymoon was over. Below are some of the problems I encountered:People calling me from cell phones would get a message saying I was unavailable. While talking with someone, I could hear them but they couldn't hear me. Every time you dial a number, you have to use the area code. I was instructed to "upgrade" almost every time I encountered any difficulties. Even after going through this process, the problem still remained. There is no number to contact Magic Jack. I put the toll free 411 number down for Magic Jack to get Angie's List to accept my submission because there is no number to call Magic Jack. You can only look up your problems from a list of FAQ's on their website or have a live chat with a rep. The funny thing is is that when the cable company came out to install a phone line for me, both techs told me they were considering getting a Magic Jack until I told them about all the problems I had with it. I even offered to give them my Magic Jack, but they didn't want one anymore!
