I had made an appointment, to which the staff seemed clueless.  We were asked to remove our shoes to "protect the gowns", although very few other customers had.  I was paired with a consultant who asked what I was looking for, and then pulled dresses for me.  I told the consultant I wanted a light, whimsical dress for a summer wedding.  I was brought heavy, satin dresses.  At first I was brought several ball gowns.  I told the consultant that I did not like that style.  The woman then pulled mermaid gowns, even though I told her I wanted something flowing.  I felt that the consultant completely ignored my requests and instead pulled out what she wanted me to wear.  My budget was reasonable, but we discussed the possibility of getting a sample gown since they fit.  The state of the sample gowns was terrible.  Each one was more tattered than the last.  They were covered in not only makeup, but also sweat stains.  Beads were lost, lace was ripped, and nothing was the color it used to be.  I didn't want to try many of them on, let alone consider purchasing.  When I asked about about alterations, I was told that they could give me the name of someone, but did not do them.  I was surprised, as this is supposed to be a "full service" salon, which assumed meant they did this common service. By the time we were finished, the woman seemed desperate to sell me a dress and tried to convince me to buy a dress that was in no condition to be called a "sample".  Needless to say, I did not purchase a dress.

I made an appointment at David's bridal in advance because my daughter and I were coming from a ways out of town to shop for a wedding dress for her and the mother of the bride dress for me. We arrived early and we were told that our bridal consultant, Jesse, was still at lunch. We were fine with that and decided to look at mother of the bride dresses while we waited. I found a few I wanted to try on. When I asked where the dressing rooms were, I was told by the staff that I was not allowed to try them on. I couldn't believe what I was hearing! I asked if they were serious, and they said, "Yes, you can't try anything on until your bridal consultant is here." I asked why not, and was told that those were their rules and I would need someone to zip me up. I replied that I was perfectly capable of zipping myself up. They then pointed to a dressing room. At that time, there were two associates and no other customers in the store. When our consultant arrived, we told her what we were looking for and she pulled a few dresses. She then left us to wait on a family that was shopping for junior bridesmaids dresses. We constantly had to wait for her while she was waiting on another family. It was very frustrating, and we wasted a great deal of time waiting on her. I was told we needed an appointment so that we would have our consultants full attention, but we clearly did not! I finally got so tired of waiting for her, that I got up and went to get a dress myself for my daughter to try on. Another consultant asked me where I was going. I told her I was going to get a dress for my daughter. She told me I was not allowed to do that, that my consultant would do that for me. I responded that I didn't even know where my consultant was, as she was too busy helping other customers to pay any attention to us. That consultant then took the dress from me and began helping us. The whole experience was very frustrating and disappointing! My my daughter found a dress that she liked, but I did not want to purchase anything from David's bridal by that point.
