    Acupuncture Clinic
It was extremely relaxing. They did the treatment and gave me the needles so I could treat myself at home. I did not have to continue driving there for treatment. I have seen them for multiple things over the years and several of my family members go there as well. They are great.

I must say, I was skeptical when I first tried acupuncture. But, after just one treatment I am a believer! It was a very relaxing environment. Jason explained all the procedures in full detail. I got the acupuncture needles and also the and quot;cuppingand quot; treatment on my back. I left feeling very relaxed and felt awesome for even a week afterward. It is a little expensive but honestly worth it if you've tried everything else for pain. It can help you relax, help with stress, and I even slept better after it so there is a wide range of things you can go in for.

In March 2010 I awoke one morning with pain in my left knee so severe I could barely walk. My doctor referred me to an orthopedic clinic in a highly rated university hospital. MRIs and X-rays showed tearing in the cartilage, meniscus and ligaments, some arthritis, and arthritis in the spine. I was sent to physical therapy, which made things worse; provided (at high expense) with an orthotic shoe insert which neither helped nor hurt; and was sent from specialist to specialist. I felt that no one was looking at my overall condition. When a friend told me her daughter is an acupuncturist, I'd had enough of the doctors and decided to give acupuncture a try. I'd had acupuncture success with another problem in another state but nothing this severe or complex. It has taken a number of treatments over six weeks with needles, laser and herbs, but the payoff has been great improvement that is continuing. I've appreciated the holistic approach touching on all aspects.

North Liberty Acupuncture is such a peaceful and calm environment that being there helps me relax and allow the treatment to work and heal me. I think the first time I got a treatment from Jason Burke I had been experiencing typical wheat allergy symptoms of irregular bowels, accompanied by bloating and discomfort. Of course, I had several treatments in one session and was changing my diet slightly at the same time. I just have not had colon problems at all since those first 2 treatments! I do have bloating occasionally from something I eat that is not gluten free, but it is different from continual IBS type problems. I am not healed, for those of you who have read this far and think he is a miracle worker. He is not. He knows his science and he is a great listener. He is adept at picking up cues of discomfort or its absence! He educates while he works. He expects me to decide how much or how little work I want. Of course, my results are so great, that I want everything all at once and have had many improvements concurrently! I respect his skill, knowledge, training, his varied experience in different types of clinics and working with different types of clients. As an experienced professional, I understand how one learns and builds upon a foundation with constant learning and experience. Jason is constantly learning and seeking more knowledge, building on his already strong foundation. He is a true physician with the heart of a healer! I have used traditional medicine all of my life and less traditional medicine for 20+ years. Living in Texas where acupuncture is covered by health insurance, I grouped it with other forms of health interventions. As a workers' compensation judge there, many claimants regularly used acupuncture and herbs in their treatment plans and the state allowed them that choice. I not only understand my own experience, but I have heard or read firsthand of the experiences of many claimants and clients, too. This healthcare, acupuncture, has been developed and refined for thousands of years. It works. It works well for chronic conditions, for acute conditions, for inflammation and immune system strengthening for infection treatment, and for preventative conditions, too! I will always turn to acupuncture before I turn to more invasive types of medicine. Drugs are h****** the body, creates imbalances that allow simple problems to develop into complex problems and are expensive to boot! For me, calling Jason and asking about a certain problem is my first reaction to a health concern. He certainly knows my health issues better than the various doctors I see to treat a specific problem, and see each of them only once or twice a year. I don't dwell on my health issues, so it's great to have this written record of progress and scenarios over the course of time. I have begun to see how each issue affects the others and can, therefore, take more steps to prevent decline. People tell me frequently that I look 10 years younger than I am. I feel it most days, and when I don't, I have a rejuvenating and healing acupuncture treatment form Jason Burke. I hope everybody tries Japanese acupuncture and particularly, Jason, because our insurance rates increase directly proportional to the declining health of our neighbors! The healthier you are, the lower my insurance rates! Not that they are low, by any means! LOL But, the healthier YOU get, the more slowly the rate will rise (I hope).

Laura is very nice and concerned about me and all her clients. She is very knowledgeable in her profession. We chat and laugh at times. She will explain things and today she gave me printed information on my pain and location of involved that are tight and painful. Possibly due to arthritis. Office is very nice and my privacy is respected. Always a good experience.

Laura is a compassionate, straightforward, and intellectually curious acupuncturist with a lot of experience in acupuncture as well as some related fields such as mental health and Chinese medicine. In the first few minutes of talking with her she seemed a little abrupt, but I quickly realized she was trying to get to the root of my problem as efficiently as possible. Laura certainly knows what she is doing, and I have felt that the treatments are helpful. I have made other lifestyle changes at the same time, so it's not possible to know exactly how much of the improvement is due to acupuncture, but likely everything has contributed. I would (and will) certainly recommend her to others.

From the initial appointment, Jason treated me in a respectful and professional manner. We discussed my health history. He listened to my concerns and answered all of my questions. I asked a lot of questions, and he answered each one of them to my satisfaction. When it came to the treatments (I have been seeing him regularly for several weeks), he explained the treatment, why it would be performed, the benefits/considerations, and then asked if I wanted to proceed. I admit, acupuncture was new to me, so the information was really helpful. I'm happy to report that we've been making steady, and notable, progress. I'm going to continue to visit NL Acupuncture, as I'm realizing the benefits of consistent, concentrated treatment. The NL Acupuncture office is relaxed and comfortable, and I highly recommend Jason Burke. His skill and training is evident. I am completely comfortable recommending his services.

    Kai-Yun Acupuncture
I have gone three times over about a four weeks period. I'm 49 years old and our family has a lot of arthritis and aches and pains. After the second visit I noticed the the biggest change. 1-When I got home to shower, I noticed I could wash my left shoulder with my right arm. 2-The next day, I walked completely differently. I now walk more on the total bottom of my feet. I didn't have the morning limp when I got up, and would take a while to walk around to walk without the limp. Now, I walk more like I used to when I was in high school. 3-I can get on my horse without a step stool. Before, I had back and leg pain preventing me from getting on my horse without an aid of the step stool. I have had these problems for at least ten years. It's hard to believe, but, I know how I feel. I think acupuncture seemed to relax muscles that I hadn't been able to relax for years. I wasn't able to stretch or ice them out. After acupuncture, when I stretch, I hear and/or feel the bones gently crack as the muscles stretch. It's like the most gentle chiropractor. No, I'm not cured, but I feel so much better. With Dr. Kai-Yun for the difficult areas, stretching, and ice packs, life is so much better! I'm excited for the future, since in such a short time, I've felt a great change.

I've been going for acupuncture for years, so no surprises for me.  She is well trained, she explains things well, treatment effective.  I find it effective in keeping my arthritis pain under control.  I wish her hours were a little more variable, but I'm able to make it work
