Our experience was great. Returned phone call promptly. Arrived on time, and went the extra mile when the screw broke loose. Great.

I looked through the phone book for locksmiths. I couldn't decide and then went online. Blackhawk Lock and Safe had the most information posted along with a video. I picked them to call. They had someone available and he came right out and did the work. He was very polite and efficient.

    Bettendorf N&S Lock Inc.
My husband and I just purchased a home and wanted all exterior doors rekeyed before we moved in. I called Bettendorf N&S Lock on Monday and told them what I needed. I also told them that there was no hurry as we wouldn't be moving for another two weeks and that I could meet them there 'whenever' because I work only minutes away. Two days later, Jim, their locksmith, called me to meet him. Jim quickly went to work and within 2 hours, had changed the cores in 9 exterior locks for us. (Included 2 locks each on 4 exterior entry doors and 1 storm door.) When he left, you couldn't even tell he had been there... he completely cleaned up and locked all doors behind himself. I also thought the charges were extremely reasonable, especially considering the peace of mind it bought us. I would not hesitate to call Bettendorf N&S Lock for again next time I find myself in need of locksmith services.

I had been looking for someone that could open a used safe that I purchased and also needed some help getting our house re-keyed. Had the pleasure after a number of attemps to find someone to call Blackhawk Lock. The people were great, the price was beyond good and I could not be more happy with Them.

THEY WERE ON TIME AND EXTREMELY COURTEOUS. WHEN I CALLED THEY HAD A SERIES OF QUESTIONS FOR ME TO HELP ME MAKE THE BEST DECISIONS ON WHAT I NEEDED.

    A-1 LOCKSMITH
My son lost all the ignition keys to one of my vehicle. I called the dealership but the car was too old to make keys from the VIN number. The dealership gave me an estimate of $400 to replace, but recommended I call A-1 Locksmiths to get it done cheaper. A-1 put in a new ignition lock that works great for $250. I found the technician to be polite, responsive, and he got the job done. I would recommend him.

They were unprofessional from the moment they walked in. Asked me where the keys were to the room that was locked and I said in the room that was locked. They asked for the other set of keys. I would not need a locksmith if I had the other set of keys. They asked me if there was a window and I said yes, but it's locked. They checked anyway. I found the questions insulting. After trying 10 min to unlock it with a piece of plastic, the gave me the bill for $90, then left. DO NOT call them if you need a locksmith!

Not well. She spent almost 2 hours trying to fix my front door lock and it didn't work. She refused to take the mechanism apart to disable to lock on the bottom. She would not take out the internal components. She replaced the deadbolt part, but it wouldn't worn because a bottom lock kept relocking. She couldn't fix it. She wouldn't take it apart. I thought that's why I hired a locksmith. She told me she couldn't fix it and couldn't do magic. The lock is from 1941 and she said if she took it apart and it broke I would blame her. She compared this to blaming a doctor for a patient that has a terminal illness. Really?!?!  Her job was to take apart the lock, fix it, and have the door unlock and relock. She couldn't do this. The duct tape we put on th lock, which she left to keep the door from relocking, fell off. I called after she left and said this wasn't acceptable. She came back, put the old lock back, and the door still won't unlock. Will not recommend. Will not use again. However, she did give me me my check back. I didn't have another check so told her I didn't know how to pay the $65 service change she is wanted to charge for 1.5 hours of work with no result. I didn't have another check, had two $50 bills, and my credit card. She said not to worry about it. She worked hard to try and get it but couldn't. I didn't end up paying her anything, my door still doesn't work, and I'm hiring a different locksmith.
