    TILE TIM Contracting
Tim gave us an estimate for replacing the 45 year old materials in our condo. He was very professional and exceptionally knowledgeable. He said that since he is a tile man and we wanted to go with sheet vinyl that he would bring in contractors with whom he regularly works to do the various projects. One gentleman would remove the existing vanity and flooring and put down new luan and install the vanity, another would take care of the plumbing and one more would do the sheet vinyl. Everything was in place and his estimate was competitive. We simply decided to go with a different contractor. In talking with him it is clear that he is incredibly well-versed in contracting and I would definitely call him again before I get other work done in my home.

Everyone from the drywall guy to the men who did our count tops & cabinets were professional, friendly & considerate of our space & protecting the hard wood under their feet! Always use “yes ma’am” & please & thank you!

    Laura's Designs
Laura was the project manager and the consultant. She was very attentive when I told her what colors I liked and what features that I wanted to include in the remodel. She came back with appropriate choices for me. She did all the shopping for me and let me pick from five or six different design choices. She was very willing to work with local contractors as well as bring in contractors that she knew to be reputable. The local contractors I knew personally. The contractors that she brought in were very respectful of my home and they worked very hard. She had brought in some innovative ideas that were well appreciated. She was conscious of keeping the project moving along. They wasn't much down time and she kept it moving along as quickly as possible. I would undoubtedly recommend her to anyone. Very easy to work with.

    Great Lakes Countertops and Kitchens
Contractor did poor work, had poor business practices, and overcharged for work performed. GLC&K was hired to start work Monday, April 21st on bathroom remodel with work to be completed within 5-6 week time frame, work was not completed until August 1st. Workers did not appear on a consistent basis nor did they work a full workday, in a full work week. I had to constantly contact GLC&K in regards to the work. Progress was stalled over stupid things that should never have had happened, like forgetting to order a toilet even after several reminders, or my contacting the plumber & electrician for a firm schedule only to find that GLC&K never notified them of the next step. Complaints were made by me in regards to the shower door leaking from initial install to the workers with no result. Numerous complaints were made regarding the leak in the door and damage to the grout on the floor tile due to water. GLC&K sent someone to fix it. First attempt had worker using silicon to seal the door shut. Door did not leak, but did not open either. Complaint was made. Second attempt had worker using silicon to affix a plastic strip in front of the door causing the shower door to only open inward. Door opened inward to hit seat in shower and cause user to fight to get into shower with little clearance. Third attempt had completely different shower door ordered. Incorrect panels were gotten for the opening, this was solved by a tension rod and plastic shower curtain. The correct sized glass was finally received and installed on August 1st. Materials were wasted due to worker damage and weather, and tiles were broken all of which I had to pay for. The tile layer did damage to the finished drywall, which had to be repaired at my cost. The bill was received in July, before work was completed, including a late fee and sales tax. The quote I received was to be for $12,000 to complete the bathroom including plumbing and electric. The bill I received was for over $17,000 and did not include the plumber, electrician, or drywall company. Additionally, I did all tear out and painting due to being told they simply did not have time - all of this was supposed to be included in the $12,000 quote. The water damage to the tile grout has never been addressed. Chris Danielson from GLC&K stated on numerous times that he just wanted to get out from under this project before it was even half way finished. Numerous attempts were made to speak with Chris and go over the bill. I received several billing statements from GLC&K, notes, and phone calls demanding payment for the balance on the bill but my complaints regarding to the overcharge were never addressed other than that was what I owed.

    Syverson Tile & Stone
We did not use this vendor because we felt that if the customer service was that bad in the store, we could not have confidence in them doing a good job. When doing a remodel you need a provider that will do an excellent job and work to your satisfaction.
