They fit us right in. We didn't have to wait around for tests and appointments. They did well with getting us right in.

I was very happy with the service and I would use him again in the future. I have no complaints whatsoever and he was just great all across the board.

His bedside manner is very good. I had him for over 30 years and he's an excellent doctor. The staffs were very helpful and always pleasant. Sometimes they can work me in right away depending on what it is but usually within a week or two I can get in. You don't have to wait if you have an appointment scheduled. It's been all a very pleasant experience.

It was out sourced by the veterans hospital. I had been going there for my mammogram. The outpatient surgery that I needed, I used Dr. Gerald Baker. I can't say enough good about that or the whole staff at the Iowa outpatient surgery. They took a stressful situation and made it about as good as it could be. Before I even went there I was well informed. I got a call giving me detailed instructions of what I needed to do to prepare for the surgery. They asked if I had any questions. The nurse for the doctor gave me a packet of information to address any questions. They gave me a map to show where I needed to go. When we arrived at 6 o'clock in the morning the staff was very friendly. We did not have to wait. We were taken in to the room immediately to start the IV. They addressed any questions, any concerns, and made sure I was comfortable. After the surgery they brought me coffee so i could wake up and get home.

It's been a very positive experience. She is very to the point and she tells you like it is. She takes her time with her patients and if you don't understand what she is telling you, she will take her time to explain it to you again. She makes sure you are comfortable before you leave her office. She is very personable and caring, and she has a great bedside manner.

Dr. Conte said that the surgery would take about 40 minutes for each side, plus time for transition. I went to sleep about 12:15pm and awoke at 2:30pm after the surgery - just about the time predicted. I remember nothing about the surgery itself - that's a good thing. The sedative and local anesthesia were sufficient to keep me knocked out the whole time, but as soon as I woke up, I felt alert, without any dizziness or nausea. The only difficulty I had was with Percoset, a narcotic pain killer Dr. Conte prescribed for post-operation pain. I could not tolerate Percoset, which made me dizzy and nauseous, so called the doctor on call and he said some people just can't tolerate it - not unusual, just take ibuprofen instead. Ibuprofen worked fine - another good thing - I didn't need anything stronger anyway. I was not in any significant pain unless I stood up or sat down - really just a painful stiffness. Ten days later, my recovery is still on schedule - no residual bleeding, drainage etc. I'm OK to drive, go back to work and gradually start exercising again - so far, so good. No complaints at all.

I was very happy with the outcome with the surgery and hopefully I will not have to use him again but I would if I needed to.

Dr. Beck was all smiles and shown "real" emotion in telling me that I am now cancer-free because of the surgery and that I would not have to undergo radiation treatments. She made sure to discuss her opinion of me taking Tamoxifen, but also indicated that this decision would be up to my oncologist. She walked me to the scheduling person herself and made sure that they scheduled me for my next mammogram on my healthy breast in December, making sure I also had an appointment with her to discuss the results of that test. She also explained that I should never let anyone conduct a mammogram on my newly reconstructed breast, and that only an ultrasound should be done on that breast. She went out of her way to make sure that I was healthy enough for upcoming trips that I had already scheduled before knowing I would need a mastectomy. Her office coordinated all appointments with the plastic surgeon performing the reconstruction, and she and her staff made sure I was fully aware of all aspects of the surgery, the hospital stay and shown genuine concern with my emotional and physical health.

Did not go well. Dr. Roe should have told me to limit my activities for a longer period of time. He didn't take into account my age and ability to heal. As a result my surgery didn't heal properly and now I have to deal with a pinched nerve, perhaps for the rest of my life.
