Still under their care and will be for several more weeks. Accident 4/29/18. Dr. Ash (knee) compassionate, professional, answered my many questions. Staff all great. Dr. Kessler (foot) my first surgery, anesthesia, stitches, broken bones. Very nervous. He was kind, humorous and explained exactly what would happen. Professional, knowledgeable and put me immediately at ease. Surgery went just like he said. No problems. Everyone was helpful. Anesthesiologist was kind and reassuring. So far so good. Definitely would recommend highly!

    Vittetoe, Dr. David A.
Dr. Vittetoe ordered X-rays and gave me a cortisone injection for the pain. When the pain persisted, several weeks later he ordered an MRI exam which identified the problem as a touch fof good old-fashioned age-related arthritis. While I am not overjoyed at getting older and the problems that come with it, I'm feeling much better now and was certinaly happy to learn the problem is not as severe as the need for a hip replacement or other invasive (and expensive) outcomes.

They are good from what I heard. He is real good. I had foot surgery and tendon which never healed and so he gave me foot brace and some physical therapy things and fixed my tendon and that is pretty rare. I didn't have any problem getting hold of them.

I was checked in quickly and given a form with a diagram for me to mark the areas bothering me and asking for general information related to my issues that visit.  I had to wait past my set appointment time about 30 minutes.  When I got to the treatment room she sat and talked with me about how things had been since my last visit and other doctors I had seen during that time.  There were two students in the room and one of them gave me a treatment under her supervision.  She then joined the student to treat my back while I was lying on the table.  I was in the room for a bit longer than my allotted time of 30 minutes and feel she gave me her full attention during my visit.  I have seen her many many times so I know the drill and knew the instructions for aftercare.  I was checked out quickly and offered a summary of my visit that listed the basics of why I was there and listed my medications, BP, weight, pulse rate etc. but not notes from the doctor about the visit.  That is the thing I would change if possible but I know it would slow the process down even more and she would not be able to see as many patients.  Overall I am very pleased with how my visit went.

I had appointment with Dr. Julie Grundberg for a second opinion on my foot condition, metatarsus adductus. Dr. Grundberg took x-rays and examined and questioned me thoroughly about my feet. She answered all my questions. I did not feel rushed and would return to her office if needed.

It went very well. The doctors come in and talk to you if you have any question. The day before the surgery, he sent me flowers at the hospital, which was very nice of him to do. Everything after the surgery was very good as well.

It went great Dr. Davick explained everything in terms that both of us could understand. He also told us all of our options and risks of each. When we left we both felt informed and well taken care of. My son was 17 and I like the way he talked to him and explained thing to him and instead of just telling me.
The end of August my son decided that he needed the next step in treatment which was surgery. He is a senior in high school and a football player. Dr. Davick knew how much it meant to my son to play football this year and was very nice the day of surgery he explained what would happen and what could happen, there were a couple of different outcomes and thankfully we had the best outcome and I am glad to say that 3 weeks and 1 day after surgery my son played his first game of the season.
I would highly recommend Dr. Davick at Des Moines Ortho. I have also myself seen and had surgery with Dr. Vittitoe and he is a great surgeon as well.

3 cortisone shots. Limited effectiveness. Scheduled for an appointment before surgery. Waited one and a half hours with no explanation to be seen. Was told that I had missed three appointments over the course of 8 months2c and that they did not use a robo-reminder system. They would not schedule me for any further appointments. The end of the story is that despite no more treatments, the carpel tunnel healed on its own.

I got a total of 3 injections in my wrist. Not effective, so was going to have one more appointment to schedule surgery. The day I called to confirm the time I was told I had just missed it. Further, I was told that was the third appointment I had missed, so they wouldn't continue to be my provider. It is correct that if I missed the appointments over the course of 6 months it must have been basically my fault. However, I was not informed at subsequent appointments that I had missed any. I was informed that they did not use the robocall reminder system. So, I didnt get the surgery but after about two months the carpal tunnel problem disappeared. Yay!

I had a lot done on my feet, shoulders and elbows over the last few months. The clinic's accessibility is pretty good. The one concern that I have is that I was required to meet with a physician just to get a referral to another specialist. My health insurance does not require referral sources to access specialists and I am a little bit suspicious there is some gaming system going by related providers. I had to get a doctor referral in order to get physical therapy. I also had to get a referral from a podiatrist in order to go to the orthotist and then that office did not submit a bill in my insurer and they charged me out of my pocket. Even though my insurer had said in two separate phone calls that the procedure was covered under the insurance. And I have not received a resolution of that yet.
