Aspen Aire Heating and Cooling Inc
A number of things happened that would make me not hire again. My home has 2 furnaces and a few years back I had the oldest one replaced, different company than Aspen Aire. I'm basing my review on the service I received by this other company 3 years prior. First of all, the workers did not have any regard to their surroundings when performing the work. They trampled my wife's garden that was close by. The plants could have been avoided and I pointed them out to be careful when they started the work. They trampled and destroyed 3 large plants. I confronted the workers and the foreman and they did not offer an apology. They made me feel like, oh well, stuff happens. The next issue I had was craftsmanship. They did not use any support for the pvc exhaust piping, the routing of the A/C lines looks like they made no thought about it and the sheet metal work was sub par, relying on foil tape instead of tight joints. Finally, price. I was quoted an out the door price, which was a big selling point. When the job was done and I was paying the salesman added tax to the total he quoted me. All other quotes I had received (5 of them) was out the door price. This made the price nearly exceed all others. Very upsetting. Had I known he would do this, I would have hired the same company I did 3 years prior. Their prices were higher, but terrific craftsmanship. Oh and one other thing, they did not clean up the pile of shavings they created from drilling for the pvc exhaust pipes.

    Modern Mechanical
Fixed amazingly fast. Some wires were accidently disconnected by some contractors, and the electricians couldn't get it to run despite fixing the wires. The Modern Mechanical technician checks it over, realizes the problem ... and flips the resettable fuse in the furnace. Sometimes it takes intuitive problem solving to fix something easily and quickly--wish the electricians figured that out!

    Service Legends Heating & Cooling
The work was performed the next day after I called. The technician covered his shoes and protected my home while working. The system is running really well now. The tech also checked the entire system to make sure that it is working and whether or not I had any concerns. Two items in the air conditioner needed replacing.

Great as usual. Have been with Service Legends for over ten years for furnace and ac maintenance. They are awesome to work with. I pay a monthly fee so the checkups are paid for. (Less than 20.00 a month)

    Service Legends Heating & Cooling
They completed the main instalation, but left two projects incomplete and said someone would be back by the end of the week or early the next week. After1 week I called to see when they are coming back. I was told someone would call me back that day. No one has called me back yet and that was 3 days ago. I have paid for the service in full and the check has been deposited.

Des Moines Heating & Cooling LLC
I had a service call in the middle of the night, it was so cold! Craig came to my home at 2:35 am leaving his family at home to help me. My grandkids were here and I thought we were going to have to get a hotel but craig saved us from having to be separated from the family. I recommend Des Moines Heating & Cooling to anyone needing a professional service on a budget!

    Service Legends Heating & Cooling
Gabe was thorough and professional. He explained the process and gave a thorough checking and cleaning of the unit. Service Legends is our go to company for excellent service for our AC and Furnace. We purchased both units from them 18 months ago and our energy bills reduced significantly and the performance of the heating and cooling improved dramatically! Great company, great technicians and always prompt and reliable!

    Dorrian Heating & Cooling
I've had a customer service agreement with Dorrian for the past six years. Got bids from two other companies with sterling reputations on Angies List, and Dorrian was about $200 less expensive. I've never had issues with Dorrian service before, and this was no exception. They arrived when they said they would, took out the old system, installed the new energy efficient one in about a day and a half. Very professional, courteous and clean. Haven't turned on the heat yet (obviously), but the AC works great and is very quiet. I would recommend them to others.

    Service Legends Heating & Cooling
Had a 23 year old furnace and A/C and although it was operating fine, I was getting nervous about it this past winter when it was so cold for so long. A nice personable young man came to provide a quote in January. He knew I was going to retire within 2 months and that I was trying to get by as inexpensive as possible. Turns out they had a system that had been installed in error as the manufacturer had sent the wrong system to them and they had installed it. It was discovered somehow and they had to deinstall it. This system had the same 85% efficiency as the one I currently had, so it was not the high efficiency that many buy now. He said they could install that system which would have been cheaper for me by possibly $3000. I didn't get a warranty, as that can only be use once and it was used at the first location it was installed at. It is an Amana system. I decided to not have the system installed until spring when the temperatures were nicer so as not to freeze in the winter or bake in the summer while they installed it. Two technicians arrived on time and completed the work sooner than I thought. Nice guys and willing to explain everything and answer questions. Cleaned up after themselves before leaving. So far I am pleased with the operation, although it's only been a month. I had used the heat a few times in the beginning and now using A/C and all seems to operate fine.

HVAC Service in Des Moines

The heating and air conditioning market in Des Moines has grown impressively over the past few years. This growth is attributed to the fact that the market creates demand for itself. According to Air and Heating Connect, up to 90 percent of family homes under construction in Des Moines are built with AC and HVAC systems.

Ductless A/C systems in particular, have been a hit among Des Moines homeowners. This is attributed to the following reasons:

Ductless Provides a Flexible Solution

Conventional central A/C and heating systems force heated or cooled air through ducts. This is not the case with ductless systems, which directly deliver air to different zones. Ductless heating and cooling systems typically comprise a small unit, which is positioned outside the building and one or more units situated inside the building. These indoor units only require electricity connection and mounting capabilities to work. Ductless systems can also be incorporated into existing central systems.

Ductless Can Lower Utility Bills

Des Moines residents are increasingly opting to install ductless heating and cooling systems because it means lower bills from MidAmerican Energy. Utility costs have increased significantly in the recent past. Homeowners who have inefficient cooling and heating systems end up incurring high energy costs.

Ductless heating and cooling systems require less power because temperature-controlled air is often directly supplied into a room without a loss of efficiency. Ductless systems similarly allow homeowners to “zone” their homes. Therefore, they have control over which rooms need to be heated or cooled, which isn’t the case with traditional systems.

Ductless Can Improve Indoor Air Quality

Conventional HVAC systems need to be professionally cleaned regularly to guarantee the supply of clean air. Nonetheless, dust and allergens are likely to be left behind after cleaning. This isn’t the case with ductless systems, which come with multi-stage filters that help to significantly lower pollen, bacteria, allergen, and dust levels in the air. Therefore, cleaner air is supplied when ductless systems are in use.

Easy Installation

Installation of ducts may take up to several weeks since it required extensive drilling. This disrupts a homeowner’s day to day activities. On the other hand, ductless systems are less invasive. Installation may even take a single day depending on the number of outdoor and indoor units needed. In addition, homeowners do not need to worry about redesigning walls and ceilings.
