    Iowa Ortho
Still under their care and will be for several more weeks. Accident 4/29/18. Dr. Ash (knee) compassionate, professional, answered my many questions. Staff all great. Dr. Kessler (foot) my first surgery, anesthesia, stitches, broken bones. Very nervous. He was kind, humorous and explained exactly what would happen. Professional, knowledgeable and put me immediately at ease. Surgery went just like he said. No problems. Everyone was helpful. Anesthesiologist was kind and reassuring. So far so good. Definitely would recommend highly!

    Vittetoe, Dr. David A.
Dr. Vittetoe ordered X-rays and gave me a cortisone injection for the pain. When the pain persisted, several weeks later he ordered an MRI exam which identified the problem as a touch fof good old-fashioned age-related arthritis. While I am not overjoyed at getting older and the problems that come with it, I'm feeling much better now and was certinaly happy to learn the problem is not as severe as the need for a hip replacement or other invasive (and expensive) outcomes.

    Michael E. Wagner, Chiropractor
Went home with 2 numb feet with shooting pains in both legs. Wagner billed me for 3 months thinking I would actually pay the huge problems he caused me. He told me that he would be glad to treat the problems, never admitting that he caused them. That was over 3 years ago and the problems still exist. I suggest that people going to a chiro for care to make sure the chiro does not use an "activator" to treat you. There are professionals in the health care business and I would highly suggest seeking a professional for health care.

    Ashworth Chiropractic
I will start out with the good - I really liked Dr. Matt - He was kind and did a very efficient job as well as spent time to be attentive and tend to our needs as patients. He offered value added services and was at least, I thought, up front about the costs of them but was never pushy or high pressure. My wife bought orthotics and was happy with them as well. The bad- I had come in from a vehicle accident and without insurance- but everything was tallied in a bill that I never saw but was assured by his office that I had a fee of $40 per visit and nothing more (as I was unsure that work comp/auto insurance etc would ever even cover it).... come to find out, years down the road and we settled- their fees were denied by work comp and not included in my settlement so I was stuck with the bill and there were a TON of extra charges on the bill that were NEVER authorized. Document fees for both attorneys, traction and electronic muscle stimulation charges (that were never disclosed at the time of service) and no bills were ever sent along the way for me to choose NOT to receive future services which added cost. The office gal Amy told me when I expressed my discontent that these were all standard charges and to copy directly from the email - "If the discount offered in my previous email is not acceptable, then payment is due in full on ##/##/##. Unfortunately, you can't pick and choose which services you feel like paying for after treatment was received." "No further discounts will be offered at this time." - I never asked for a discount- only to be charged what I was told I would be..... some items charged I would have never authorized had I known but I was assured by former office staff my fees were set and flat fee per visit. There was no willingness to fix, or discuss the bill only an offer to reduce it by $52 and change when in reality my bill should have been $620 instead of $752. "Dr. Matt does not have anything to do with the billing department. He won't be of much help if you are looking for lenience. He can, however, answer any chiropractic or medical questions you may have." - Sorry Dr Matt, you are losing a patient because your office staff isn't friendly and I was told I couldn't even talk to you about it. I will be seeking another chiropractic office to service my family's needs and will no longer be recommending this office and will go out of my way to let others know of my negative experience. **** After my review was posted, the office contacted my attorney's office to ask my review be removed. I was poorly treated and given no opportunity to rectify the situation, why should my review be altered or removed if my experience hasn't changed and my issue not resolved? A complaint has been filed with the Better Business Bureau.

No private rooms. Massage rooms are small. You can never get scheduled when you want due to lack of staff. Finding a good therapist here is a nightmare and they are ALWAYS gone by time you come in for your next appointment.

    Terrell, Elizabeth
Beth is terrific as are all of the staff that I have spoken to in person or on the phone. Beth practices with her husband. I have spoken with him and he seems very nice as well. I would consider seeing him if I hadn't already established a relationship with Beth. Getting in as a new patient with Beth can take a little bit of time but it is worth the wait. I am not aware of the time it takes to see her husband.

Beth works on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. She runs on time. The times that I have had to wait were so that she could get me into a room with a recliner. I like that I have the option of using the recliner or lying on the table. She also gives you a button to press if you need any assistance during the treatment. This helps me relax in the room with the calming music. The room can be almost dark to very light depending on your preference.

The needles used in the treatment are very thin and most times I don't even realize all the spots she has put them in. After they are inserted I don't notice them at all. The needles are individually packaged and are thrown away after one use. The office is very clean. My favorite part is at the end of the treatment when Beth sprays a peppermint spray on my back. I feel energized and ready to tackle the world again!

Beth has done a great job controlling my pain so that I don't have to take medication. She will work with you on diet also. Her staff keeps a cancellation list so be sure to use that if you have an immediate need. When you first see Beth, be sure to provide as much detail on your history as possible. This will make your treatment as successful as possible.

    Alliance Chiropractic and Acupuncture Center
I was looking for a new chiropractor after moving into the Altoona area.  I called his office and he agreed to see me.  I was expecting to have a treatment as most chiropractors do when you call for an appointment.  He called it a consultation and took my $45 and said I would need to have x-rays first.  What an absolute joke!!  I would never had the consultation if I wasn't going to be treated.  He basically wasted an hour of my time and I still have a neckache.  I was not injured so there was no reason that he had to have x-rays before he could give me any treatments.  DO NOT GO TO HIM.  HIs main concern was how he was going to be paid.

    Kinetic Edge Physical Therapy
I had a previous great experience seeing Rick Hill at Kinetic Edge in the spring of 2015. My 2015 course of treatment is the magical experience that is most relevant to whether you should make an appointment with Rick. My most recent 2016 experience with my foot is a return visit based on the trust he built by helping me with my hip in 2015.
Between February and May 2015, Rick worked with me to overcome chronic pain I had been having with my hip. His initial evaluation was thorough and he took an extensive history. He really sought to understand my problem, and I could tell he had genuine interest in giving me a solution. I was impressed by his professionalism and his bedside manner.
After the evaluation, he showed me a warm-up stretching routine and strengthening exercises. As I followed his course over the weeks and months, he had me increase the difficulties of the movements and vary them to avoid adaptation (and boredom). My hip has been feeling so much better since. Naturally, I have incorporated the movements into my regular exercise routine.
My most recent experience involves a sprained right foot. I saw the doctor, did RICE, and immediately after getting off the prescribed knee scooter, I saw Rick to begin to regain strength and mobility. He went through a similar evaluation and history as before and gave me exercises that will allow me to rebuild strength in my foot. He told me that if I continue the exercises, I should be able to get back to normal activity sooner and have fewer foot injuries going forward. I hope he's right. If history is a guide, he is.
If you can't tell, I'm a big fan of Rick, both his bedside manner and his approach. It's too bad that I need his services only when I'm banged up.

    Blue Valley Physical Therapy
A special thanks to Ann Cooper (co-owner of BVPT) and the rest of the physical therapy staff for all of their hard work and dedication to their profession and for truly caring about their patients! This is honestly the best physical therapy office I have ever been to and I've been to many in different states. They are the ones that truly made a difference and helped me recover from my back injury in a way that no other place compared to. Their 1:1 (therapist:patient) approach makes you feel important as they are dedicating time just to you to get better! They have highly trained, competent physical therapists. When I moved to their area, I visited 6-7 different clinics before I chose them! They made a great first impression on me: after talking to Ryan, one of the other owners, he was confident that they could help me! Having a confident therapist makes all the difference; someone that strives everyday to improve the lives of their patients. That's what I was looking for and what I'm sure everyone is looking for in health care professionals. I actually looked forward to going to physical therapy with Ann and seeing all the other therapists there as well. You get to know everyone and they get to know you! I would highly recommend them to anyone needing physical therapy for a multitude of injuries. They do it all! For example, I observed them treating patients of all ages with knee injuries, surgery recoveries, back and neck injuries, sprained ankles, sports injuries, shoulder and hand injuries, patient's battling with chronic pain...the list goes on. They have a large workout/exercise room with lots of equipment and therapy tables. They also have private therapy rooms for manual therapy and other treatments. They have updated treatment modalities like: Game Ready Ice Therapy, E-Stem/Electrical Stem, and Moist Heat. Depending on your reason for therapy, they will develop an individualized plan for you to help you make strides towards recovery. Give them a try first and you'll experience first hand why they are so highly rated and why they are known as the best around! I can proudly say I "was" a patient of theirs and have now been able to move forward because of them! They challenge you and push you to get better! Thanks Ann for everything you did for me and for your friendship! Couldn't have done it without you! :)

    Mohammad S Iqbal Md
Everything has gone well. The migraines I have used to be so severe I hardly ever left the house. I now am almost free of them between rhisotomies (the medical term for denervations.) I am so glad my neurologist recommended I go to Dr Iqbal. It is one of the smartest things I have ever done. I will be very sad when he retires.
