    C & R Specialties LLC
Caleb did a great job. He has very good eye for detail. He managed to level and install a hardwood floor in a very old house that was not an easy task. The cabinets were hung perfectly and he even stain matched a few custom pieces to make the kitchen look even more finished. I trust Caleb and C and R specialties for any work on my home!

    Lowe's Of Waterloo
The installers Lowes sent out measured the rooms.   After the installers left with all the measurements they needed, we were told by a relative we have solid oak flooring under the carpet in our  house built in 1919.  We took out the carpet and discovered  beautiful solid oak flooring.  So, we cancelled our order to carpet the house. Our Lowes representative called to verify our satisfaction with installers who completed measurements.  We told Lowes our experience was positive but we had chosen not to carpet the house.  He was understanding and appreciated our feedback.  We are happy Lowes customers.

We were very happy with them. They did a great job and followed the time table. They answered all of our questions. It was a very good experience. I do wish it would have cost less, but we did shopping around and we were happy with them from a prior experience.

    Bob Delagardelle Floor Coverings
Bob was wonderful to work with. He was friendly, clean and conscientious. At the end of the day things were as clean and neat as possible and our floors are amazing!! Our neighbors who have  been over to see the floors wish to hire Bob to work on their homes.

    Standard Drywall
Very poor work.  They just wanted the money.  You can see drywall seams.  Carpet is lumpy and wavy (they did bring in another person to install carpet), the guy knew it was lumpy because he stated the lumps would go away but they haven't.  Glue on tile and texture on tub in basement (they supposedly removed this).  I also have texture/paint on light fixtures.  Basement bathroom door won't close and knob not set in.  Door to laundry area not centered and knob not set in.  Paint - areas very blotchy on left wall going to basement, another area no paint on entryway to bathroom.  I have to repaint all of it because they left no extra paint.  Door to basement not washed clean, can see white residue on bottom half (they supposedly washed this). Doors - they did not get permit for 2 exterior doors, door jamb extension wasn't put in, you can see plaster.  Door doesn't latch properly half the time or won't open when closed.  2 storm doors don't close properly.  One storm fell on ground and other banged into railing from wind because they didn't finish installing latch and hinge for 3 weeks. Refinished wood floor - started coming up immediately, they didn't do it properly but are trying to blame it on paper they put on floor when painting walls and ceiling.  They should have painted first.  I asked them how long before you can put anything on floor and was told 3 days.  They gave me the impression they would redo floor this spring. Paint - ceiling and walls have streaks.   No extra paint to fix this so will have to repaint entire walls.  They are trying to say it was like that before.  I have pictures before they did any work and no streaks are on walls or ceiling.   This couple advertises in the Insider service directory. I stop payment on last check written to them because they did not come back to finish work as he had stated he would. Instead they went to a lawyer and threatened to file fraud charges against me and demanded their money.  I had to send a certified check to the attorney.  I am now having to hire other people to fix everything and it will cost me thousands more.  They added on to basement bid without my approval.   I did agree to addition for a door to laundry area because city inspector said we had to put one in.  I had health issue because they did not keep upstairs free of dust while remodeling basement as agreed upon.  Twice I had to leave home and stay elsewhere because they didn't ventilate area which they should have warned me about.  I came home once to find someone in my basement besides them, which scared me, he calls afterwards stating he dropped a guy off.   I was lead to believe they had years of experience and did the work themselves.  I don't know who actually did work in June because I didn't live in home at the time.  I was living in home for basement and realized they had many other people involved. I am posting pictures so you can see for yourself the poor quality work they do.

    OHL Construction
They were going to charge me $52,000 and then they found a $7,000 or $8,000 error in one of their bills. They took the price of the countertop and labor off the bill. I had already paid them $29,000 and the last $20,000 was over and above what they said it would be. It was supposed to include all the labor. They subbed out the hardwood floor installation and I had to pay for that. We got the bill down to about $13,000 and I had it inspected. There were a number of defects. Largely the only thing that he was willing to do was complete the work that he had already billed me for but hadn't done. There are multiple problems. The roof they put on leaks. They didn't put a ridge board on part of the porch so it is sagging. They installed the front door 2 or 3 times and you can still see daylight around it. When they were hanging the cabinets they didn't plumb the wall first. In order to keep the line at the top of the cabinets level with the cabinets coming from the other wall, they had to gap them at the bottom. They covered a couple of electrical outlets with cabinets. It was a real bad job. It was very expensive and low quality work. I am getting ready to have somebody come in and correct all the mistakes. I gave them $29,000 and they filed a mechanic's lien for $13,000 but they never took it to court.
