I was scheduled for the end of November but they were able to get the job done a month ahead of time and with minimal disruption to my schedule. In 2 days I had a new roof and everything was all cleaned up in a timely fashion.

They were unable to help me get what I needed done, but they showed so much professionalism, kindness, and quick communication. It was something I needed today. I will remember them for future projects.

We would like to praise our actual builders, they did everything that was asked and did it well. The same goes to the owner of the company. He was responsive to concerns and also provided us with more than we had originally asked for. We are very happy with the finished product. This does not hold true of the general contractor whose unresponsiveness and lack of planning delayed our project for at least 4-5 weeks.
We were told that construction was to start the middle of May. When the builders didn't show, we were told he hadn't given us that date. (The major hinderance was that the GC was not licensed in Davenport IA which has its own licensing and is more strict than IA. He had told us that he would pass the test by the time we were to start. Didn't happen)
Next we had to wait for different reasons including our builders had started working on another job. Then we were told that because they weren't licensed in Davenport, we would have to go take out the Building Permit. This was the only time we saw the GC; he came up to pay for it.
The GC all knew that our main power line post to the house would need to be moved because it was in the way. He 'forgot' about it. The builders had to work around it until they could go no further. It wasted two weeks while the builders arranged to get this moved. Instead of having the building supplies on site ahead of time, the builders were continuously having to go pick them up. The GC did not arrange for an electrician for the site, so that caused numerous delays. Once we did have and electrician, there were numerous delays because the GC did not communicate well with them. My wife had to act as the go between with them and the city's electrical inspector on numerous occasions causing delays in the inspection.
Other problems rose when the building inspectors came. The biggest problem was the GC's fault also. The city code states that if you have an untreated main support beam, it must be 18 inches above the ground. A treated one can be lower. The GC arranged for an untreated one and either didn't tell the people who dug and built the foundation or he didn't know. I lay no blame on the builders because they are not from the area and only had the materials provided. This caused a two day delay as the builders had to crawl underneath and hand dig out enough clay to give it the 18and quot; the inspectors required. Because of how the foundation was dug, another problem with the entrance arose. By code it needs to be 16and quot; to give access underneath. The cement work did not allow this so the builders had dig out the ground and had to cut the hole bigger. It also meant they had to tear out a good cement pathway leaving open clay. (They did put down rock to keep it from becoming a mud pit. It is also in a location that is very rarely used so it wasn't much of a problem)
In conclusion, an A for the company's owner, A for the builders, and an F for the GC. I would use this company again as long as I had assurances that this GC had nothing to do with it. I will give him one concession though. We were told that he is licensed in Illinois and Iowa but not Davenport. Davenport seems to be very protective of its own local builders so they do make it difficult for someone to break into the market. This seems to hold true for the City's inspectors who I really think nitpicked the job. All in all, we had 3 different building inspectors at various stages. Two of them passed on the very same items at the beginning of the job that the third final inspector would not allow. Either the first two were derelict in their inspections or the third was trying to make sure this company didn't come back to Davenport.

Professional, courteous, and reasonable!  They showed up on time every day, they checked in with us about all aspects of their work, they always offered us options, they were very considerate and worked with us regarding the special needs of our rescue pup.  They clean up after themselves and they do not ever do a half-baked job!!  Totally liked these guys and have plans for future projects that we will turn to them for!!

I cannot believe it's been nearly 10 years since this project was done!! Overall it went very well. That's what I remember! They also promptly returned for a very thorough clean up/dry out when a loose pipe caused a leak in the basement, after the project was complete and they had been paid.

Duane helped us in lot selection, house design, and built the house from excavation, to final grading and installation of the mailbox. They framed the house, roofed it, installed windows, doors and cabinetry,  painted the interior, installed vinyl siding, and even designed a safety gate to the steps leading to the lower level, which matched the rest of the woodwork.

The roof leaks even though Daniel Iossi said it would last and now  instead of the previous homeowner having to pay for the roof or me paying less for the house due to Iossi's recommendations, I will have to pay for a new roof myself.  Called to speak to Daniel and he hung up on me. Very Rude.

They're on time and their price was lower than everyone else. The whole crew spoke English so they could answer questions. They did the job in a couple of days and they cleaned up after themselves. Overall, they did a very good job.

My wife and I went to the Outdoor Show at the QCAA Expo Center and Homeworks Central had a booth at the show. I talked to the people in the booth only with the idea of getting a price estimate. Their sales rep. called and made an appointment to come out and measure the house and give us an estimate of the work we wanted done. The price was reasonable and they gave us a discount because we were ready to book at that time. They arrived on the designated day and with the weather forecast, I let them set up in my garage so they could lock up at night and not have to move everything at the end of each day. They missed one day because of bad weather but called in advance of not working to let me know what was happening. The salesman, work crew and sales reps at the show were friendly and professional. They did an excellent job. My only regret is that if the salesman had pointed out a couple of other items they could have done to make the house look better, I probably would have had them do them because they still need to be done. Overall this was a pleasant experience.

Mike showed up and checked out what I was looking for, gave me an est. in a timely manner. After he informed me what the bid was, I ask him about making a change and what the change would cost me. He called me a few days later and gave me the new est. which I agreed to and he gave me a start date. Mike showed up on the agreed date and started right to work. He has been hard at work for the past 3 days and the third day when he said he would be finished he is. Even though it has been raining today when he could have taken the day off he show up and finished on time.
