    A&J Painting
Excellent, he was always on time every morning. He was here everyday for 4 weeks. It was a big job but his work was perfect. He was professional, trustworthy, easy to work with, very responsive, positive and friendly attitude, very knowledgeable in his profession. We would definitely hire him again!

After having an egress window installed, we needed the trim painted and quite a bit of siding touched up from saw-splatter. Josh had done some interior work for us which is beautiful, so we contacted him without hesitation. He came and did the work and we hardly knew he was here! It matches the original paint perfectly. I am picky about this kind of thing, and I am 100% pleased.

We used ODonnell Painting several years ago to paint the outside of our house (stucco body and wood trim). We had to bring them back to fix problems with paint falling off the wood trim a year later. They did repaint the problem areas to our satisfaction. We contacted them again this year to repaint the external wood trim. We have a Craftsman style home with traditional exposed rafter tails and tongue and groove boards rather than modern enclosed soffit at the roof overhang. The wooden overhang was dirty and had some mildew that needed to be removed so we could assess the need for repainting the overhang. The ODonnell crew cleaned the overhang with a power-washer and a solution of bleach, soap and water. Unfortunately, the crew failed to warn us as to what they were going to do and cleaned the overhang without removing outdoor furniture sitting directly below. The result was that they ruined the fabrics below with the bleach solution. I called Jim ODonnell and he referred me to his son Tyler. It appears that Jim is no longer actively managing the painting operation but is only involved with selling jobs. Regrettably, his son Tyler was unable to recognize that there were any issues with the work they performed. When I asked if he would have done the same thing on his house, he was unable to acknowledge that he would have moved the furniture or called for help when something wasnt right (I was able to move all of the furniture, the umbrella and the rug by myself in less than 10 minutes). I waited a week to see if the ODonnell team would call to discuss a potential resolution. When no one followed up, I let Tyler know that we would be looking for another painter to complete the work. Since then, theres been no contact by Jim ODonnell. It appears that there has been a significant loss in terms of product and service quality with the transition from Jim ODonnell to his son Tyler. Its our sense that the business was well-managed years ago when Jim was more involved. The current state is unfortunate. Steer clear of these knuckleheads.

    Buford's Painting & Cleaning Services
We own a duplex in Davenport. It needs work inside and outside. There had been vines growing up the front of the house. When we pulled the vines off it left little suckers on the siding that would take the paint off when removing them. I went on Angie's list to find a painter. I called Bufords Painting and Cleaning Services. Ken and his wife came over to look at it. Ken went through all the steps of what he would do and within a couple of days he e-mailed me an estimate. For washing down the siding with TSP, scraping the wood trim, and painting he estimated $595.00 plus materials. The material and paint came to $142. Total $737.00. My husband and I are very pleased the quality of his work and his professionalism. We have asked him to come back in the spring and paint the garage. We're thinking about painting the inside also.

    J & H Painting
J & H Painting used a chemical wash on our siding, than rinsed the siding, waited several days for the siding to completely dry. Than they masked off all the windows and parts of the house before spray painting the trim.  After letting the trim paint dry they than masked off the trim and painted the house. The entire job took approx. 1-1/2 weeks to finish. Our house now looks like new. J & H Painting did an excellent job painting our house. I would definately recommend J & H Painting to anyone.

From the time John arrived to my home, promptly and a few minutes earlier than scheduled, I was impressed with his professionalism, attention to detail and his politeness. John took the time to detail how the project would progress, he explained in detail the products and he offered suggestions for our color choices that would enhance our home and give it great curb appeal. The crew that scraped, primed and painted the home were friendly, courteous and efficient. I was really impressed with how well the keep my yard clean and protected my many plants and bushes. Again, great attention to the little things such as cleaning out the gutters while they were up that high, pointing out potential problems such as a cracked window, nail pops and areas that needed caulking.
I own multiple properties and will only have J and J Painting complete my painting needs. Once you have had the best nothing else will do!

This was a terrible experience. We were promised that the job would begin on June 3.
At our initial meeting, John told us that weather is not an issue for his
company as he has and quot;multiple professional crews.and quot; We stressed
that time was very important to us because we were moving and needed to get our
home on the market. There had been a lot of rain in our area, and we wanted to
make sure that the June 3 date was a real start date, and he assured us. We
were also told that the job would take 2 weeks. He said that he had multiple
person crews and that two weeks shouldn't be a problem.
First, we had a weather delay. We were informed of the change in start date
from June 3 to June 10th via email. We asked that they at least start spraying
our house earlier, and they did spray it on Thursday. They were supposed
to start scraping on June 10th. On that day two people came to our house,
including the owner of the company, and they scraped for maybe 3 hours. We
expressed our dissatisfaction with this, and were assured that the start time
would be earlier the next day, and that they would stay a whole day. This
didn't happen. We hoped that this was just a rough start on the project, but
unfortunately this was not the case. This was repeated behavior over the course
    of the project.
While John does have and quot;multiple person crews, and quot; not all of the workers
are there at the same time. After the first week of scraping, one worker began
coming at 7:00 AM, but the rest of the workers didn't come until much later.
Then, they left before 4:00 PM. The painters left their materials out when they
left, often leaving our house looking like a construction site. They left
ladders out in our front yard all weekend. My husband had to move them out of
the way. Also, they parked their trucks in our neighbors driveway even
after we requested several times for them not to do that. While the workers
were polite to us, they left their pop cans and garbage in our yard when they
left. We communicated this to John, but the behavior didn't stop. The crews
    were unprofessional.
Needless to say, considering the lack of professionalism and work ethic of the
crew, our house was not completed in two weeks. Instead it took nearly FOUR
weeks to complete. Remember, they started a WEEK LATE! Even then, we had
to request that they come back and touch up because the second coat of paint
was applied sparingly. John did have one crew member paint two interior
rooms (we purchased the paint) in an attempt to make up for the delay, but the
painter did a rushed job and left paint all over the floor. We wish we had
painted those rooms ourselves. We would have done a better job.
In short, we feel ripped off by this paint job. While John did match a lower
bid to get the job, his crew cut corners to make up the difference. They
left our yard in a MESS and ruined our hose with paint. We wish we had
gone with a different company. I have no idea how there are such positive
reviews on this website. This influenced me to choose them, and I now feel
compelled to tell of our negative experience so that you will NOT hire this
company. They are not professional, they don't fulfill promises, they are
unskilled, and they leave a mess. We didnt get what we paid for.

We had a quote done but had all of our windows replaced (26 windows) and asked for another quote since there would be less detail work. They came out for another quote and 6 weeks had passed and still nothing. I finally called and was told the price would not change due to our new play structure which was there when the previous quote was given. We asked for the pricing since I had received an email saying their prices were going up and we NEVER received the new price. Horrible customer service - convinced us to do siding and not paint. I would stay far away from this company.

The final job was beautiful, The surface prepartation was very thorough. The finsih paint was beautiful and almost perfect.  The painter was very clean and professional.  They responded immediately to requests and cleaned up completely when finished. The only reservation I havve about the job is that I think the price was a little high.  However, I have not had the house painted for many years, and I may not appreciate how prices have risen over the years.  I guess you get what you pay for.

Of all the painters from whom I got bids, John was the most courteous, one of the most competitively priced, and the only one who didn't seem fazed or suggest that he might have to charge more because our two-story house, built on a hill, is effectively three stories high in back. Work on the project began sooner than expected; the painters were neat, friendly, and professional, and didn't mind my five-year-old daughter hanging around and asking them questions. A very positive experience; highly recommended.
