    Bryngelson Builders
Jesse and his team did an incredible job on our kitchen remodel. He was responsive from the start and was on constant communication on what was going on and when. He stuck to both the timeline and the budget. At the beginning of the project, he consulted with us and truly had our priorities and tastes in mind. We really appreciated Jesse's professionalism, and he was also approachable and happy to answer all of our questions. We are so happy with his service and the end result, we hope to work with Jesse again. I didn't take true before pictures (the lighting work had already started) and they don't give the transformation justice. Everyone compliments our kitchen and I wouldn't change a thing.

    Homestead Woodworks
I found the perfect kitchen countertop stone at Abraham Schrock's booth at the Home Show in Des Moines. He was great to work with. He helped design our elevated bar countertop, made from Phenix Marble. He's courteous, knowledgeable and organized. Although we had a different contractor design our custom cabinets, I have talked with two customer's of Abraham's who were very satisfied with his work on their kitchen cabinets. A qualified craftsman!

They did amazing work, very down to earth and care about what you want and how you want it! Very upbeat people who show up to get work done and make it look great! Highly recommend. We are already looking into them doing a couple of other things to our tile in our house.

    Bob The Builder LLC
Bob Coffey (Bob the Builder) was paid deposits to get items started and draws to keep work going. Never started some projects he was paid deposits for. Never finished other projects he was paid for. Other items that were purchased by owner came up missing. Do not hire. There are too many other honest, reputable people that would like the work.

    Tom Simmons Custom Woodworking
Tom was outstanding to work with during our kitchen remodel. His attention to detail and organization were amazing! And we really put him to the test- with all of our customization of the cabinets. Our kitchen is pretty big, with some unique qualities. We went with a contemporary look, a mix of shaker and slab front doors, and two contrasting stains. I am beyond happy with how they turned out. His workmanship is true quality.

    Scott's Home Renewal
I used Scott's Home Renewal for a first floor renovation about three years ago, was pleased and hired them again for this. Not the cheapest contractor, but definitely the best I have used here. First class professionals; first rate subs, especially the tile and glass people The custom glass door arrived with the wrong specs, and the glass contractor got the factory to make a new one with only one day of waiting.. If you want it done right, contact Scott's.

Mark is the owner of Basement Finishing Experts. We really enjoyed working with Mark. Our basement is about 2100 sq ft of never finished area in our 20-year-old home. We really didnt know what to expect or how to proceed. Some of the space was going to be a new office with heavy computer use and with a bathroom. Mark came out, looked over the project, listened to our ideas and added a lot of great suggestions. He was really the expert in suggesting things that could be done with the space we had that would add maximum value to our home. After he gathered all the information, he gave us a quote and timeline to do the work. He said it is his goal to never over promise and to always deliver on his promises. He seemed like a very nice guy but the proof would be in the coming weeks. The start date was set for November 1 and at 8 AM, Mark was there with the rough-in plumber. The work was started on time. Mark said he would be mostly finished by the end of the year. Actually, all work was finished on December 29 as Mark was there doing the final touch up work. We started moving in the next day. Thank you Mark. In the end, the project was started on time, ended before schedule, was on budget and there were no surprises materially or financially. The days between the start and finish of the project were delightful. Mark was very easy to work with and friendly every step of the way. He was always aware of every aspect of the job and had materials on site and ready for the workers so there would be not wasted time or delays. He went out of his way to get us the best prices on the items we selected and passed those savings on to us. During the work, he made sure the job site was organized and clean, minimizing the dust as much as possible. I appreciate that Mark only does basements. It is specialty work and he has perfected it. The crews Mark hires to do some of the work are as good as he is. They have worked with him for many, many years and the trust and report he has with them pays big dividends in projects like this. His crews were a positive reflection on Mark and his management skills. Since we were living upstairs as the work was in progress, we developed a close relationship with Mark, his crews and each step of the project. If we had another basement project to do, we would definitely chose Mark and the Basement Finishing Experts to do it. I will be telling all our friends what a great job he did and will gladly show off his work.

    Red House Remodeling
My experience with the staff at Red House could not have been better. They were meticulous throughout the process, responsive to questions and concerns, and followed the established time line to a tee. I would not hesitate to work with them again. If you want a remodeler that takes care of details and can finish on time, I highly recommend Red House Remodelers.

All Trades Construction and Maintenance Inc
Overall it went well. With any project in a home, one runs into a few glitches, but were taken care of. Had good suggestions for updates at reasonable costs. Hired 3rd party contractors that did quality work. Received positive comments.

Several months ago, I paid Angie's list $49 for a design and estimate for a kitchen or bath. Before Mr Betts arrived we agreed that I would pay him directly another $49 because I wanted to start the process of designing renovations on both kitchen and bath. He came to the house once, and handed us off to a "kitchen designer" who worked for a cabinet shop. Her objective seemed to be to sell cabinets. Several appointments, long delays... things only moved when we prodded action. Feedback on design from one meeting was forgotten before the next. Finally, four months in, we had a design that was worth getting an estimate on, so the designer referred us back to "Good News," and ... nothing. I finally wrote to this individual after 6 months had passed and asked for my money back. At that point he tried to schedule an appointment. I declined, saying that the process had been so useless so far there was no chance that I'd hire him to do the work, so spending time on an appointment was a waste. I repeated that I'd gotten nothing for my $99. To that, I got screen after screen of self-justification, all of which boiled down to "I'm keeping your money."
I have since learned that he does estimates for free. So I got thoroughly ripped off. I spent a lot of time on this process
and got nothing. I paid for something he offers for free, which I never got, and he refused to refund my money. Do yourself a favor and stay away.
