    Over the course of a week or two, our dishes had become coated with a chalky film. I suspected my 10-year-old softener wasn't working and called the Culligan office. They scheduled the regional technician to come later that same week. The tech called about a half hour before he was scheduled, and arrived right on time. He diagnosed the problem with the control unit (seal pack), replaced it, and sanitized the unit in under 45 minutes. The next day I noticed our water was soft again. He was professional and informative. Our city water is very hard, so I know the softener works hard, and this is the first issue we've had in 10 years. I'm very impressed with Culligan's product and support staff!

    Price was a little high, but West Des Moines water very hard and need special equipment. Provided financing. Deliver salt at reasonable price and will fill softener at no charge.

    We contacted them online, they called promptly to set an appointment to provide a quote.  The person arrived on time, slipped off his shoes and took a look at the basement where the unit would be installed.  He made some excellent suggestions as to where to place the unit and why he thought that was best. His quote was complete and his explanation concise -- from every detail as to the system, payment options and the benefits of each component in the system if we chose to do so.  No pressure nor high-pressure up-sell.  We were looking for the Kinetico system and the price was within what we expected, including any unusual plumbing issues they might encounter. They scheduled the installation within a week or so.  The team arrived a few minutes before they said they would and spent about 6.5 hours installing the systems.  The plumbing and re-piping they had to do is exceptionally done.  They rerouted piping to supply non-softened water to the outside faucets -- an added bonus they performed without us asking.  They installed two drinking water spigots and piped the R/O drinking water to the automatic ice-maker/drinking water in our refrigerator. They left a very professional looking installation and took the time to walk us through the use and maintenance of the systems.  They even enjoyed our two Miniature Schnauzers during their time in our home. We are extremely pleased with the entire process -- from the initial quote to the final installation.

    Fine, although the technician had to go back to the office to get the parts for the second faucet. I didn't appreciate this because it added to the cost due to the travel time. This isn't particularly efficient for the customer.

    After just moving into a new house, we found a leak the inspector must have missed. We (and the plumber) originally thought it would be an easy fix. Once he got into the wall he quickly realized the job was much bigger than a quick parts swap. He and his assistant discussed with me the various options I had, and he was confident he would be able to get it fixed that day. He made a call to get some specific parts and got to work. He originally thought he might have to take apart the whole shower wall to get into the wall, but he ended up cutting a small (approx. 13x8) hole around the faucet. He put in a rather lovely oval back plate to cover the hole and put in a new (and better!) shower handle. He got it done under budget and in less time than he thought. He also spoke to us for awhile about our hot water heater and water softener. I would call him again in a heartbeat. He had a matter of fact quality that I appreciate.

    They showed up about 1 hour late from the time it was scheduled.  In the line of household water, we have a main household ball valve and a bypass ball valve for future water use equipment, such as water softener, which is downstream of the main household valve.  We also have a separate line for irrigation and meter.  During the installation of the water heater,  I asked for information of how much they would charge for installing a water softener and something like that so the guy knew we would need a installation of water softener by somebody.  His job was supposed to change the water heater and replace the leaking main household valve.  After the job was done, I found my water bypass line is missing so did the backup valve. I questioned him where is my back up valve and bypass line.  He said that valve was bad and also said it was for irrigation use and not useful for water softening. It did not make sense at all because we have a separate irrigation line and why we would have a valve for irrigation use after the main house use.  I called HSA and the Plumbing Company on April 2, 2014 and reported him.  This guy did respond and called back, he said this valve was put wrong and it was a faulty workmanship, and threatened to charge me for removing the valve.  He is crazy and dishonest.  He did not say he just want to make money of charging me more for if I later on hiring him for installing a water softener and he could charge me for building a bypass line for the softener.  He is untrustworthy!

    The gentlemen was very nice and knowledgeable, but really did nothing to help in anyway other than to tell me my RO system needed a new membrane, which were expensive, but that he would get back to me with a price. It has been over two weeks and I have never heard from him. The $69 was a complete waste of money. Since he was of no help, I decided to try and change the membrane and filters myself since he did not do so even though the deal included such work. I spent over 3 hours tonight changing out the membrane and filters and now have leaks all over the system, which is now rendered completely useless until I can get a professional business here to complete the job. This shows a complete lack of professionalism and customer service, in addition to an inability to get back to me on the price of the parts that I needed. I am completely disappointed and will never use this business again.
