    Red Box Design Inc.
Redbox does an amazing job adding an artistic touch with top notch quality. They took my ideas and style and helped make decisions to keep the design consistent. Dean offered his ideas on unique touches I wouldn't have ever thought of. People who come to my house are in awe of the work they did. It is a perfect reflection of my taste with a professional finish. It was fun to bounce ideas off each other. Redbox is the company to work with if you want something different than the cookie cutter designs most places offer. Living with a kitchen under construction is challenging. The crew was so tidy and kept my home and the construction area clean and contained. They were very cognizant that we were still living there and when they left every day, everything that could be cleaned up and put away was. I plan to use Redbox again for my next project.

By far the best custom designer in the Quad Cities. If you are looking for something 100% custom and unique you will not only not be let down you will be absolutely blown away. Red Box designed and built our fireplace mantel and woodwork. Designed and built our bar area, wall storage for our bottles, perfect lighting for all and our tile bar top and floor. Perfect in every way! I would post some pictures but it is really to cool to share. Ask Red Box and they can hook you up with images.....

    Lenny D's Plumbing
These guys are great. They came one Saturday and realized I needed a new toilet. They didn't charge me until they came back again with the new toilet. After the repairs were done a new drip started in the basement right after they left. They came right back and spent over an hour looking for the problem. They realized it was the ice maker in the fridge and fixed that too at no charge. As a single woman, I wouldn't go with any other company. They are kind and helpful.

    Quality Control Property Services
Awful and worse. I hired because I met children of contractor. I did not have any knowledge about working with a contractor. I was a fool and my money. The contractor told me over and over how very professional he was. Throughout the time he was on my job(s), he constantly told me how much he was saving and doing for me. The contractor was unable to multitask, prioritize tasks, produce and timely amend a fully-detailed job contract with proper change orders. Many times late. Many times I was asked to come to his office only to find no proper paperwork, samples, etc. Many times I had to ask for samples via email only to not receive. To expedite parts of the total job, I found myself meeting him at stores to discuss product options or myself physically making purchases. When I hesitated for 2 days on the actual window gridding, the contractor realizing he was behind on my total job put blame for his inability to complete other job tasks during time to straighten out window issues on me and changes I had made to job(s). When I mentioned that I would like to see and get a copy of the city permit for my records, he stated that he thought I had gotten. A couple days later, it was determined that a city permit for replacement windows was not required. I have e-communication of some of his reasons for not arriving on time or at all. Some suspect. On top of his misplacing blame on me for overall delay, he went so far as to boast that the window manufacturer gave him the value of two windows (or maybe it was physically two windows) free. The contractor never deducted any of my window job costs for my inconvenience. After two or three times of this contractor insisting for payments near/or at end of Fridays, I mentioned that 80% of the job(s) was/were not started or was/were not completed and I did not think this was good business. He said it would all get done. I questioned why no checklist with formal initialing required. I constantly requested invoices be updated to reflect materials involved (on more that a couple occasions he mentioned he forgot such and such in quote) and ALL DETAILS. I not only never received but never did get an official contract. I continued to compliment even the poor workmanship he did because I became more afraid than ever that he wouldn't show back up. Two days prior to what from here on I'll refer to as "the Friday", I had no updated, accurate job invoices (now I know should have been a contract and proper amendments) and contractor telling me that he needed the balance of of monies owed for the total job by "the Friday". He pointed out that he could disregard the add-on amount for power-washing/staining deck and walk with no consequences to himself/his business . He said he would be coming on "the Friday" with ten guys to finish-up much of work. On "the Friday", I decided on a hunch to go from an out-of-town appointment straight home. I found no contractor, no ten guys, and no work being done at my property. I called him and asked why no work being done. He said he was on way. Because it was a friday and 2:30 PM, I highly doubted he and ten workers would actually show let alone get much done before quitting time, I told him not too bother. I disconnected and locked my property up. His girlfriend texted that she was involved now. She said that some were rented tools of contractor that were locked in my garage. She said she and contractor could call police. On hindsight, the police would have been welcome. I stated that he could come and get his tools and whatever the following Tuesday. I wanted my long requested proper invoice (he had two diff invoices going/started by this time) at time of pickup. He showed up with his girlfriend, backed into my driveway, lowered his pickup's back gate, and started loading stuff. I said I'd like my paperwork. His girlfriend said "wait until he gets his stuff loaded". He finished loading and closed back gate. He walked to his pickup driver's side window, looked only down at a clipboard, proceeded to tell me that I wasn't going to get anything because I made too many changes etc to the overall job, got into his truck, and they both looked at me/my house as they drove off. I have had gutters (another add-on he was giving me a great deal on) since put on by another business. I have also gotten quotes for repairing and completing what this contractor did/didn't complete. One estimator asked "did you pay the contractor because if you did he stole from you." It is now going to cost me more now to repair/complete than the first/original invoice plus add-ons.

    Blondell Plumbing Service
Blondell did a fabulous job for us. From estimate to finishing the job they were superb. They helped us every step of the way with this large scale project and even arranged for us to have concrete broken up in the process of moving services. We did most of the other work in the house ourselves so it was really important for us to get the best estimates for our trades that we were hiring done. I cannot accurately articulate here how good they are at what they do. They offered great advice and did outstanding, high quality work for us.

    Hometown Plumbing & Heating
I was totally satisfied. He seemed to know what he was doing. I bought the thing and they put it in. It was $155 for the labor, which seems pretty high, but I guess for a plumber, that's not unusual. I bought the garbage disposal and it's working. They came the next day. He was just right on the button. He sat outside for about 2 minutes to be sure he was right on time. He wasn't here to do the humidifier on the furnace but I asked him since he was here to take a look and see what I needed to do and he did. It was kind of above and beyond for what he was called here to do. He didn't charge me anything for it so the company didn't get anything for him doing it but he spent probably another 10 minutes just explaining the humidifier to me and how the filters work and that sort of thing so it was just sort of an extra.

    Hometown Plumbing & Heating
Hometown Plumbing & Heating could've, well, I mean, they were running late so we had to leave for them, so may be just time-wise. One of them was knowledgeable. They did call me afterwards, so I would give them a C for punctuality.

    Precision Air
The project took a long time but Precision Air always kept up their part of the work, called in and completed inspections, etc..  The work was well done.  Workers very respectful and hard working.  Keith, the owner/manager although very busy, was very responsive to my needs and concerns.  I feel I was very well served and got a great system at a reasonable and competitive price.

Mr Rooter Plumbing of Quad Cities
It turned out to be very well.  I like that they friendly and that they did a good job.  It was reasonably cost.  It took him two hours to do the work.  It was a positive experience and I will recommend them.  The thing that stood out was just the fact that he did a good job, it was reasonably priced and it was well done.  I was very happy with him.

I give him an ?A? because he did a good work, he was timely and the price was reasonable.  He explained everything he did and he tried to help us avoid future cause by doing what he did.
