    High Quality Moving Services
I booked this service to move my disabled mother to assisted living after the death of my father. I thought I could save her a few dollars. Penny wise and pound foolish. She lives in a city that is a minimum of 300 miles from me or the nearest of my siblings so admittedly it was a challenge. However, their agent assured me that they would take care of us. The original amount quoted was $1539, which included $75 for an extra stop at my sister's place in the city my mother was moving to. About a week before the move, I was contacted by the "district manager" Nick to tell me that he fired the agent I had been working with but that I shouldn't worry because he would "continue to take good care" of me. As it turned out, when the moving truck got there, my mother wanted packing and additional items moved, which increased the charge to $3698. OK, fine. When he was done packing, the mover on the truck (more on him later) said that he would be able to deliver and unload 2 days later and would call me from the road the next day, so I called my sister in the arrival city and we moved my mother into her empty apartment. My sister and brother in law both work full time and had to make arrangements to meet the truck. The next day, after hearing nothing, I contacted the "district manager" and the mover to see what was happening. At that point I was informed that there would be an additional $550 charge to deliver on the date I was told. They had us by the short hairs, so I had to agree to that extra charge to my invalid mother. As it turned out, we did not get the extra delivery stop that was promised, but the truth was much more scary. After the delivery I received the following email from my brother in law, who at this point I have to point out is Kenyan, and my sister is Caucasian: "we had to summon St. Louis County Police to the storage facility after one of the movers threatened and I with violence and hurled a tirade of insults at us, because he thought was going to delay him for more than 10 minutes. The vile in the man seemed to explode from nowhere or may have started building up at the assisted living facility unbeknownst to us. The mover after yelling out insults first attempted to leave the storage area with some things for storage still left in the truck including a fridge meant to be dropped off at our house. The man stated he would just leave the fridge and those other items on the street outside our house and when asked him a question he among other things called her a b_tch said something to the effect that she was hated by her family. At this stage he moved very close to uswithin a distance that any normal person would consider physically threatening. I told him to back off and I was calling the police for threatened assault. I also told him I would not activate the code to let the storage area gates open for him to drive off the truck, nor would we sign any papers regarding the move. We also told we would not give him a checklist of the items he had delivered, which he had given to for cross checking. A few minute before the man accosted -- while he was moving things into the storage -- he became extremely rude and told me to f*ck myself. He then added that he didnt have to talk to me because I was not the client. He moved close to me in a threatening way, and had I not have had the discipline I have as martial artist things would have spurn in a very bad direction. Although the delivery company was paid to deliver a fridge to our house he did not do so, but instead left that fridge at the storage, as the police were arriving. At the stage we seriously did not want the crazy man coming to our house So thats the recap of another day in what has been a very challenging three days. In all the years Ive lived in the US Ive never experience what I did today, and what Im now coming to conclude was a racial incident that could have ended very, very badly. The mover who was in great hurry, ended up waiting for about 1 hours as the problem as sorted out by the police. " I don't have to say too much more at this point, except that my mother paid (in my opinion) at least $625 too much. And hopefully if you've read this far, you won't be hiring High Quality Moving Services anytime soon.

Each time, I had two moves, I had excellent movers. They worked well together and were able to accommodate my moving requests and lift all my furniture and boxes. The College Movers were awesome and relieved my stress about moving and the whole process of finding people to assist.

    Iowa Home Consulting
IHC was described to us as a "one-stop shop" for everything. Over time we learned that was true! We started with just floor finishing and staining while moving into a recently purchased home (a ~100 yr old home, so plenty of work needed), Slowly over time we continually added things, and Matthew made it work. They knew about our move-in date and made sure the floors were done and ready for us to move in (which just added to the excitement for us, it was great job). So I'd have to say they were very flexible, even though I know they have a full schedule. We did have an issue with one window, and they were over soon to address it. Some tiles in the kitchen seem to need some extra support and they will be addressing it soon too. So good responsiveness even after the work is done. Strongly recommend!

    Riley Moving And Storage
Except for being late in delivery, other parts of the move went reasonably smoothly. Their promised window for delivery was July 12-19, they actually delivered on July 22. We stayed in a mid-range hotel for three days and filed a claim for the expenses. Despite phone calls to the company before cheching into the hotel, and were told that they cover 100% of hotel bill, they still only allowed about two thirds of the expenses. Their Des Moines office is also under staffed, it was usually hard to get hold of move coordinator Brenda Ramsey. Overall, it could have been better, so they get a B from me.

The loading of the U-Haul truck went smoothly. Even when things looked iffy in terms of fitting in nicely Dan (the BRAINS) was able to re-organize certain items and use every nook and cranny of space. A friend and I watched as he maneuvered the various size boxes to ensure that it fit and that furniture would not be scratched. U-Haul had no moving cloths so we improvised with quilts and comforters and that worked well. By the time Lance (the MUSCLE) brought everything down a few things needed to be re-arranged however, the end product was a piece of art. I took pictures to commemorate how nicely packed everything was.
I also hired someone on the other end to unload the truck and as a former mover he was extremely impressed with how neatly everything was organized. Nothing was broken.  Everything was in one piece.
Thanks to Eric for fitting me into a tight schedule and Dan and Lance for a great job and great attitude!

    Hemmen's Moving Service
Working with the office was wonderful. They were responsive and professional. There were 2 movers assigned to my job. They were prompt and eager to get started. The loading items went fine. The unloading did not go as well as i had hoped. I had several pieces of large furniture scratched or chipped and towards the end of unloading, they just put things wherever and i had things in rooms where they didn't belong and i had to get help to move them to the correct spot. After the move was complete, one of the drivers approached me and asked personal questions. In fairness,i did not report any of this to the company.

Eric is very friendly and professional.  He responded to my voicemail asking for an estimate on the same day and then explained the contract to me in detail.  His movers were on time and unloaded the contents of the U-Haul quickly and efficiently.

    Simple Moves
Working with Simple Moves was a real joy.  Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful.  Will Brennan walked me through the cost and contract in detail.  The movers for Simple Moves were professional movers, not just guys who can lift heavy objects.  The movers were very professional and knew exactly how to move large pieces of furniture and load them into the truck quickly and efficiently with no damage.

They switched our packing date. We then asked them (becuase of that)t o also move our loading date. They didn't arrive when promised but came 3 days later. We arrived to our new address and expected delivery on Aug 5th but they didn't arrive until Aug. 11th. Being a military family we're use to moving and this was the only time I've ever submitted a "damaged and missing claim". Our list of unreplaceable items was 2 full pages long and our overall experience was horrible. We even encouraged the military not to use them anymore at all.

We found out that the owner sends the truck with the lift. That makes the whole process slower and that drives up the price. They under estimated the job when they knew it was a big job. I am glad we packed our fragile items. They arrived late and the whole job lasted 8 hours. It was raining which made the whole situation worse.
