Very well. He ordered a pair of frames that I wanted, not just pushing me into a frame that he had in stock. His price was very competitive and actually was better than that offered by one of the chains on an inferior pair of frames. His recommendations on what to order with the lens was right on. He let me decide what I wanted, only offering the options. Very friendly and professional. Would highly recomnmend.

Dr. Den Hartog saw me after someone else gave me a vision test. I have been having trouble with glare and seeing with my glasses. Dr. Den Hartog did more testing and told me I have cataracts and need a new prescription for glasses. I can have cataract surgery now or wait to see how new multi-focus lenses for people with astigmatism are working for others. She is very friendly, and I feel comfortable with her and her diagnosis.

    Whylie Eye Care Centers
Not only did I get some good financial deal but I also got good service from them with the new glasses and frames. I am not exactly turned on by their commercials but I was pleased with the products that I got from them.

They had a good selection of frames in a wide variety of prices.  They gave me all the time I needed picking out frames.  They offered different kinds of lenses and anti-glare coating.  My glasses were ready in a week.  They adjusted them when I picked them up and a few days later when I wanted more adjustments without additional cost.  Their prices were reasonable.  The money I saved was worth the drive to Ankeny.

    Russ Uptown Optical
This was not my first pair of glasses from Russ. I think what I appreciate most is there is no "hard sell" to the process. The frames are all out for the customer to browse and try on, and are all marked with the price. In the past, I have just updated my lenses without buying new frames, and there is no pressure to buy new frames. They are also happy to have you stop in as often as you need to for adjustments, if needed.

This is one of those small businesses that give the box stores a run for their money. I was referred to Visual Eyes by another customer, and made an appointment for an eye exam and purchased 2 pairs of glasses. I was pleased with the purchase, everyone was courteous, they were very accommodating, and it was done right the first time. I got two pairs of glasses for less than 600.00, much lower than the competitors. Previous to this I purchased 3 pairs of Tiffany glasses from Lenscrafters. Shortly after this Lenscrafters purchase, the lenses developed a strange film. We took them back to Lenscrafters, two of the branches, and they refused to fix them. We went to Visual Eyes, they took care of the problem in an hour--they actually fix Lenscrafters mess-ups. Thry don't just stand behind their products--they stand behind the products of other retailers. When my daughter went in to purchase another pair, they actually special ordered the frames we saw at another retailer, and we were able to get them at a much lower price. These people are awesome--they definitely keep their "eye" on things.

I've purchased a pair of sunglasses in the past but got tired of carrying two sets of glasses. Decided to go with clip-ons but they didn't have a pair to fit my new glasses.  Not a problem - had a pair of clip-ons custom made.  I didn't realize that was an option! Great service with a great guarantee.

    Whylie Eye Care Centers
I used Whylies to puchase new tri-focal glasses. They have an extensive selection to choose from and fairly knowledgeable staff. Since I was new to tri-focal lenses, we needed to adjust the lenses, but they did this without much trouble.

The sales person was very kind and helpful.  I was by myself and she helped me pick out the best frames.  She went over all the details and various options. When I went to pick up my glasses a few weeks later, the same person assisted.  She was on a break but was the only one working.  Even though she could have made me wait, she cut her break short and assisted me. I was grateful as we were getting ready to leave town and I wanted to get this completed before we left. Great service!
