AF.H. Furr Plumbing Heating AC & ElectricalExcellent. We had F H Furr replace a gas heater and elec ac last year and this was a follow-up annual maintenance under their maintenance plan. I received a call day earlier confirming visit. Chris came on time. he was very professional and answered all of my questions courteously. He offered recommendations on what I should do as homeowner to make our HVAC more efficient and maximize operating life. Chris noticed a very small wet spot in the drain pan (I never noticed) so he fixed a pinpoint leak in the drain line connection (no charge-under service plan).- Alvin K.

AComfort ConnectionI am an out of state landlord who owns a rental home in Portland. Several weeks ago, my 25 year old heat pump stopped working and so my property management company referred a local contractor to me who told me that the compressor was broken and he was going to charge me $2500.00 to repair it or $8,000.00 to install a new heat pump and electric furnace. He also suggested that I consider switching over to a high efficiency natural gas furnace for $6,500.00. I didn?t want to spend $2500.00 on a 25 year old system and I didn?t have $6500.00 or $8000.00 to spend on a new heating system and so I decided to sign up for Angie?s List. I initially contacted two companies and while the salesmen were very professional, they were similar in price to the other contractor, I decided to contact one more company and after reading the many great reviews about Comfort Connection, I decided to contact them. The owner, Steven Conner answered the phone and he spent about a half hour on the phone with me, asking questions and explaining my various options. He told me that he would not suggest that I put a compressor in a 25 year old heat pump because it would be a waste of my money. When I told him how much I was being quoted for new systems, he just chuckled and told me that while he couldn?t give me an exact price without seeing the job he assured me that I would be pleasantly surprised when he did. I felt better after talking to him because I figured that he would not say such a thing if he could not back it up. Anyway, two days later he called me back with a price of $3,500.00 for a 95% efficiency gas furnace and a complete conversion to natural gas, from electric. I immediately signed a contract and gave him the go ahead. I have to say that Steven went out of his way to accommodate my tenant, who works nights. He didn?t start the job until 2PM (when my tenant wakes up) and he worked throughout the night to finish the job before my tenant had to sleep the next day. The job passed inspection, the first time, and Steven even waited for the inspector so that the tenant did not have to stay awake and wait for him. All in all I could not have asked for a better experience and I have recommended Steven and Comfort connection to my property management company.- Karen d.

AAIR SYSTEMS A/C, HEATING AND REFRIGERATIONThe company was very responsive to my initial call and arranged to be at the house the next day. My schedule did not fit in with that but I appreciated the willingness to look at the problem so promptly, especially with the hot weather. The technician showed up on schedule and was very professional and courteous. I appreciated the use of the booties over the shoes when in the house. I thought the work was done very efficiently and there was no attempt to overstate the nature of the problem, just a fair appraisal of the situation and a willingness to use some spare parts that I already had on hand. The work appeared to be very thorough and included checking out potential issues that could have resulted from the thermostat failure. I would use this company again.- Kathleen F.
