    Big Island Toyota Kona
They were great. I just had the best experience with them. They're very prompt. They have really amazing service. They always find good coupons if they have any savings to give you breaks. They always keep you updated to know how the service is progressing, if its a little bit longer. When they tell you its two hours, its always at two hours. They vacuum car and clean it. Its a pleasure to deal with them. We moved only six months ago but we had the cars for two years. I have been using them for the last two years. In Kona everything is up the hill so I used up already my brake pad so they informed me halfway through that my brake pads are almost to zero and they changed them. I love that they always have time and they always try to find out some coupons tp give me the best deal. You fell like you're really take care of. The service that they provide, the car always works very well. They're doing the repairs really well. Their customer service is excellent. They always ask for reviews. Somebody calls me or send me an email and I always rate them the best. I have really nothing to complain about. I bought the car from them and it was an excellent experience. I don't feel like I want to go anywhere else. I bought my car cheaper here than I would have bought the car in Washington state. I went to Spokane in Washington state and tried to buy the car there and then went to the island and compare. They gave me such a great deal that I didn't feel like I want to transport the car from Washington state. They were really great to deal with. They've done what they were supposed to at the time they were supposed to. They send me reminders. Its better than dealing with my dealer back in Mainland. I will absolutely use them again.

    Kona Kwik Lube
My power steering pump hose had a small gash and started to whine and leak. I had the hose itself, which Kona Kwik Lube agreed to use, no problme, which was perfect. They only took one day to fix it..now everything works fine. I know of these mechanics in the community and as a mechanic myself, I trust them to do the work I can't do at home. The only thing is I've noticed a hike in their prices, not saying it's a coincidence, but ever since they've started adverising more. I don't really think it was a 2 hour job, but I paid somewhere in the neighborhood of $200.

    Kona Moped Center
I had been trying to figure out what was wrong with my Chinese scooter for weeks and had it all torn apart- wouldn;t start or get fuel, so at this point, it wouldn't run. I called this small place and he said he'd pick it up (that pick up cost is $40) which is ok I guess, and then have a look at it. I remember having to call him after a few days because I hadn't heard anything from him. He had mentioned he was very busy backed up with a lot of scooters. AT one point, I even went in to talk to them and check on it to see if it had been worked on. He still hadn't figured out what it was but finally after a few more days, figured out it was electrical, the stater, but had to wait for the part. All in all I ended up waiting about a week and a half to get it back, but once I did it ran fine. The only thing I didn't like is that there was so much back and forth, with really no attention paid to how much the final cost would be, which to someone who can't afford, when you get your scooter at the end and then can't pay for it..what do you do?  All in all, he fixed the scooter when I couldn't and there really aren't many places in town to do so. I heard Kiser is really good but more expensive, and for a place to bring a cheap scoooter anyways, this is the place to bring it, because you don;t want to put a lot of money in to it.

KONA MUFFLER & AUTO REPAIR INC
My jeep was getting noisier and thought it had a manifold leak. I had used these guys in the past years and years ago so decided to go back. They had quickly found the issue and said they'd replace it...but for something a little less than $600! I was a little surprised, especially since the Jeep doesn't even have a converter on it, which can be bypassed. I agreed to the work regardless, because wanted to sell it and get it taken care of before I did so. Within a few days I got it back and paid them, but when we drove away, it almost sounded the same to me, and like there was a new rattle.  I drove it for a few more days just to be sure and it remained.  We went back to tell them. they took a look at it, and said there was a coupling-like chamber that had become loose, but I thought thats what they had fixed in the first place. Anyways, they regarded it again the second time around and took care of it again, no charge.

    Cal'S Automotive Repair&Service
I was first told by the dealer that I had a blown head gasket and would be very expensive to fix. So I went to a mechanic that I've used before and did good work for me and was told the car had a leaking valve cover gasket not a blown head gasket (big difference). He quoted about $1200. to do both the gaskets and the front brakes (brakes where grinding at this point).I heard Cal's just opened and he was honest so I tried him. Saved several hundred dollars and was impressed by his knowledge of cars.

    Big Island Toyota Kona
I went to Big Island Toyota to buy a new Prius and was told that they didn't have any on the lot but had two coming in in a month. The salesman suggested that I put my name on one and a deposit of $2500. because they sell them as soon as they come in because of the high demand for this car. I was told that I could trade in my other Toyota towards the price. When the car arrived a month later' I brought my 2001 Toyota van in and was ready to buy the new car when they informed me that they wouldn't take my trade in at all because of its condition and age ( 2001 with 93,000 miles). Edmunds.com valued my car even at the lowest value "rough" at $2800. fore dealer trade in. Big Island Toyota didn't care that I was a repeat costumer and knew they could sell that car with no trade in very easily. No customer loyalty at all.

    Big Island Toyota Scion
They jerked me around so much and tried to take advantage of me. I ended up buying the new car from Honolulu and had a great experience, would not buy a car from Big Island Toyota.
