It was Great working with them, I was able to make changes on the fly, and they accommodated them all. Strongly recommend then for any job. They have proven to me that they can handle anything thrown their way.

We had a lot of issues that we found post buying. We had one guy that was not responsive and they got rid of him and the last guy was great. I know what to look for now. In the building of the house when you are doing the development they are trying to meet a deadline but they need more quality control. There are certain things that they missed. The structure of the home is very good and what they provided us for the price was excellent.

For anyone buying a home....expect the home inspection repairs to cost a little more if external damage is identified. The damage extended beyond the viewable area for us. Our home inspector did a terrific job and we were prepared for damage that he could not see. The areas identified for structure repair included decking, decking supports, multiple windows, sills, door, siding repair, and foundation cracks. Missing components on plantation shutters was also noted.
Do make sure the person you hire is licensed and has previous completed projects that can be reviewed. Check the business out first.
Do ask questions about unexpected findings. Your contractor should be able to show and describe what, why, any options available (with future ramnifications) and how he/she recommends repair. For example, the front door and sidelights were identified as needing to be replaced. With the home inspection findings list being a fairly big list, we asked that everything be prioritized by severity and identify the items that could have functionality extended by repair. We asked for replacement and repair cost estimates. The front door could be repaired to extend it's functionality and replace at a future date for a reasonable cost. Our plantation shutters were also identified as an item that could be repaired instead of replaced by Dan finding someone who could provide repairs at a reasonable cost.
After the home inspection repairs were completed, We decided to replace our carpeting, finish the hardwood floors on the main level and paint the interior walls. We also asked Dan to look for any items that could be potentially dangerous for our family. We have parents in their 80's and grandchildren under 5. He found that the stair ballister was not properly attached. He also identified several additional items that could cause falls.
We were living in another state during this time, preparing to retire. Dan Cipriani coordinated having carpet samples delivered to us. The samples were large enough to make a selection from. There was a lengthy discussion about the ballister repair, replacement or do nothing. We were copied on every email between Dan and the ballister expert. Face to face consultation conversations were summarized and forwarded to us. We had a lot of good information to consider. As a result, we understood that we could do nothing and the ballister would likely hold (it wobbled) or could replace it. We decided to replace the ballister.
We love how our house turned out. The colors are perfect. The stair ballister is solid and looks better than the original one. We never expected the replaced ballister would make our staircase look so much better. Our parents are able to use the stair rails and ballister for support with complete confidence. The additional tripping issues are mitigated. And we have peace of mind.
We plan to eventually finish our basement and look forward to working with Dan Cipriani again. What a pleasure it was and will be again to work with Dan. No surprises, no hidden agenda, he works with your budget, takes great pride in his work and stands behind it.
Don't make rushed decisions but make your own decisions.
Be totally honest with your contractor about your finances.
Do listen to all your contractor's options and recommendations.

The experience was horrible. He lied to me in several occasions and changed the color of the roof without permission. He just changed the grey roof to black. I was able to show these to a jester that came out and these guys were representing them to try and arbitrate his problems. I showed them the proof that my roof was grey in 2002, 2005 and 2008. When we changed the color of the house we picked out the color and went to the association, looked through color change in the house from white to blue, grey and green. We had matching shutters after going through the whole process. His boss showed up to solve the problem so he said either they repaint the house or do the roof. I choose to repaint the house, so the house is red color now. We use to live in a rental house which the insurance company provided to get his work done. They told us it would take five months and took a year long. They dragged the fee on everything. We told him what to do from the very beginning. The whole house stands about thirty six flat and it takes the power off the motor and pulls up all the air to the open windows. We have a lot of windows but there is absolutely no wind. We kept telling him we wanted that thing back in the house which he didn't do. When the first guy came out to charge a new quote they had to put a furnace in the attic and a furnace in the basement because they don't have those connecting different floors anymore. Now it is that time of the year we want to use the thing and we turn it on, it stays on five minutes and shuts off for five minutes. There is something wrong with it and I think the motor is overheating. We wanted three light tubes installed in the three bathrooms because there are dark spaces. This genius decided to put one in the center bathroom without measuring anything. When we went to buy attic stairs he just got something without measuring it. We are still in connection with them to fix that. Things were stolen, like the people who painted the garage floor claimed they used the garage floor paint but the second time we parked the car in the garage the type pulled up the pain which should not happen if they use correct garage floor paint. All they did was go to the store, grab some grey paint and slop it around the floor. The paint is just coming up in random areas. Structurally they built the house and it's not falling down or anything. They did a lot of things correct and some of the contractors are excellent but I don't know who they are. The air conditioner and the plumber did an excellent job. He put in a piece of rubber with two pipes cross and another pipe because he had to put the sprinklers the basement. I had a time cleaning the little hallway but they screwed it up with the light. The main guy from Icon is a disaster.

    Whitestone Builders LLC
When we decided to receive estimates for our addition, we spoke with many contractors/builders. Whitestone Builders had a very professional and impressive portfolio. Their reputation derives from Custom Homes. We decided to look at some of the custom homes that Jeff and his team had build in the past?wow! I couldn?t believe how beautiful these homes were. I can remember hearing the phrase ?oh, that?s builder grade? and usually people associate that with bad quality. Whitestone Builders are far from your low cost, builder grade types. It was refreshing to see how thorough these homes were and the quality of materials used. After viewing the homes, receiving 3 estimates and meeting with Jeff, we had no hesitation when hiring him and felt confident in our decision. Jeff?s team did an outstanding job on the addition and the project was completed right on time and on budget. We are so satisfied with the quality and value that this added to our home. Jeff was faced with some challenges and handled them so nicely and made my family very comfortable. His team was very knowledgeable and kept me updated on the progress weekly. I can personally say that Whitestone Builders is Atlanta?s # 1 Custom Home Builder and are capable of any large project that you have. Share in my experience and hire Whitestone Builders!

He failed to follow contract agreements. He tried to get away with the work he was doing with out us knowing. There were detailed plans that were not followed. Short cuts were made during the work I wrote him a very detailed letter regarding the matter. We had an independent home inspector come out to over look the property before I sent the letter. We came up with a 23 page report of code violations in the house which was sent to him. He responsive was only through his lawyer. He did not respond personally. They responded to us with invoices that needed to be paid. They did not address any of the code violations in the reply. They stated that if the invoices were not paid on time they would set a lean on the house and seek legal action. Per my lawyer we did not respond. They did terminate the contract due to us not paying the invoices. The invoices that were first sent were inaccurate. We were being over charged for things already paid and for materials that were never delivered.

Rep was over an hour late and then got mad at me because I asked to get to the estimate vs. small talk. Told me I wasn't the type of customer they wanted.
