    MacDougald Construction
I have used this company for several smaller projects off and on since 2013 and have been very pleased with the quality and service.  This more recent experience was much larger in scale from previous projects and, again, they delivered just what we were looking for.  They were courteous, helpful and willing to discuss decisions I needed to make along the way. There were a few minor mishaps that the company promptly and professionally rectified.  The project did take a little longer than we had hoped, but I think most of that was from all the rain we had at the start.

Overall, the attention to detail and quality of work is superior.  I wouldn't recommend anyone else.

    Hogan Builders Inc.
Sean Hogan is 100% professional. What I like is that , as a grandmother with no construction experience, I was always able to trust Sean to manage everything. His team built my "dream" screen porch and brick patio on the back of my home. They did everything from laying the foundation to screening, painting and adding ceiling fans to the porch.

    ETL Construction
I'm disappointed that things with ETL construction didn't work out. They seemed to have a very good reputation. Perhaps my interaction with them was an anomalous blip, but they were unresponsive, and their initial estimate was totally inaccurate (and I hadn't changed anything about the scope of work... it was just a matter of not preparing the estimate accurately).

All in all it took 10 weeks before I got an accurate estimate.

Bill was very apologetic about the way things were handled, so at least he did that. I'd rather just delete this review, but since I can't I'll bump his grade up.

    EDT Construction & Remodeling
After arriving late for their appointment (they didn't write down my address correctly), I started explaining what needed to happen for this job. It was pretty major work for an insurance claim. The owner of the company, Everett D. Thomas, proceeded to raise his voice and explain how he thought things at an insurance company SHOULD be run? as if I had any control over that. He grew extremely irritated and said that he would charge for an estimate unless he was guaranteed the job, and how unfair it was that the insurance company required me to get multiple estimates. Of course, I'm not going to guarantee that someone is going to get a job if I have *no idea* how much it costs and if the insurance company is going to cover his costs.
To be rude to me about an insurance job is simply small minded. Does he think I'll ever call him about a non-insurance job? Or recommend that friends get an estimate?
Everett D. Thomas seemed to have the typical "good old boy" attitude. At one point the guy said that I would be "confused" about getting multiple estimates. That's just unnecessarily insulting. I am required by my insurance company to get multiple estimates. Moreover, it's good to learn what different people think need to be done for the job. Multiple opinions are GOOD things, and I'm actually bright enough to understand different opinions.
Everett D. Thomas was insulting and passive aggressive. After clearly stating that he *would not* do my job, he continued to rant about insurance companies and argue with me. I said, "it doesn't matter because you're not willing to do this job." He looked at his associate, Terry Wilkins, and said, "Come on. I had a bad feeling about this house as soon as I walked in!" And he left. It reminded me of something that would happen in middle or elementary school. It was neither business friendly nor emotionally immature.
Terry Wilkins seemed apologetic about the incident. He was very nice, and I felt sorry for him that he works for a bully.
They wasted my time AND were BOORISH about it. This is not a good way to build a reputation. Their business card says, "Free estimates" (A LIE), and "No job too small."
I am so disappointed in EDT.

Horrid!  Shows up late without calling.  This guy did the absolute worst job humanly possible.  He left our door open for extended periods of time while he was working outside.  He tracked mud into our home and on our carpets.  He left our water running from an outside faucet for hours.
Worse than the above, he did a terrible job.  The trim didn't fit correctly, he tore paper from our sheetrock and didn't think he should have to fix it.  He left paint on our floor, the staple holes on the door casings weren't filled in.
He actually got upset when we pointed out the poor work and began insulting us to the point I asked him to leave and had to threaten to call the sheriff.
    Worst experience.

He is awesome. If I were to recommend anyone who is building a new home, I would recommend him.
