    These guys are simply AMAZING! We had two men load all of our boxed and unboxed stuff in a little over an hour. They were on time when they arrived and also when we got to MO to unload. Then they unloaded all of it in about the same time and even put our beds together. They even helped me unload a heavy tank and a huge doghouse out of my truck. They are admittedly not the cheapest movers but if you want your stuff to be handled by the best, CALL HEWES!!! You will not be disappointed Dave and Barbara Porter

    Overall, we were pleased with this mover.  I did experience a few complications in the early stages in getting an estimate.  It took longer with these guys to get back with me and provide an estimate than it did with several of the other companies I contacted.  However when they did get an estimate put together, it was a better price than what I received elsewhere by a few thousand dollars.  I believe this is mostly due to the fact that Local Movers rents Enterprise trucks instead of owning their own fleet.  In fact, it took 2 trucks for our move, which means we paid mileage on both for a 600 mile move.  Even with that factor included, we still paid less than other movers were charging.  They were a bit late getting to our home in Georgia the day of the move, which was a bit disappointing since we were eager to get things going.  However they checked in fairly regularly and I always felt that I could trust them throughout the entire process.
    Some things to know, so you don't get caught off guard if you use Local Movers:  1) They rent their trucks (see above).  You aren't going to see flashy trucks emblazoned with their logo pull into your driveway.  We saw Enterprise trucks.  2)  Their movers are college guys that they basically pick up wherever they are moving from/to.  We had a different set of movers load our house than we had unload.  This seemed to work out fine, as all of the guys we worked with were strong and willing to work very hard.  3)  They want you to be happy with the move.  We had a few items damaged during the process and the owner was very willing to work with us on adjusting our price so we would be happy and would use them again in the future.  We appreciated this!  4)  They are YOUNG.  Everyone we encountered was under 30, most probably closer to 20.  This isn't a big deal to us, but if you're looking for some older, experienced company, this isn't the one for you.  With that said, what they lack in age they make up for in strength and ability to lift things that made my back hurt just thinking about. 
    Overall, this is a great little moving company to work with.  The things mentioned above are a bit quirky and not something I've encountered before but didn't seem to negatively influence the quality in any way.

    I think they were the only service providers in the area.  They picked up the stuff on July 18th and delivered it on August 13th.  Tom Moffat from Moving Management was really helpful.  He brought the boxes out and really seemed to work with us around scheduling.  The guys who delivered our household goods were very professional and very mindful of bringing our stuff in.  They carried a lot of it in.  They didn't want to scuff the floors and they put padding on the door frames so that wouldn't scuff the doors.  They didn't drop anything.  They even carried it into the rooms that we wanted it to be in.  The guys, who picked up our stuff, dropped the whole bunch of stuff.  There was a box of books that actually fell off the truck.  My husband's motorcycle was scratched and some of the boxes were crushed.  They promised us delivery by August 1st but they were two weeks late on it.  That was what I did not like about my experience.  I had to put in two claims; one was for the delayed shipment so they reimbursed the cost of the hotel and fifty percent on the meal.  I had to put in a claim for the broken items and so they compensated us for the ones that we could identify.  My husband still hasn't been able to find a box of his metal working equipment and we don't know where it went.  We couldn't prove that the scratches on the motorcycle were from them and we didn't get reimbursed for that.

    In between the time I had my belongings stored with this company, they relocated from a warehouse to what I later learned to be a large house. When I reclaimed my belongings and did not use their moving service to relocate, I discovered that my belongings had not been adequately stored and protected resulting in lost and/or missing pieces, things included in my shipment that did not belong to me, and several boxes that simply disappeared. I called the company; Mr. Kaine Martin who blamed everything on my movers, could not explain how items that did not belong to me were sent with my shipment, failed to follow up on my complaint, and basically hung me out to dry. These people should not be trusted with storage, or standing by their claims for "secured and insured" goods. I spent around $8,000 with these people over the years of moving and storage and received NO consideration or attempt to find an amicable solution. Mr. Martin simply informed me that I "had no leg to stand on legally."
