We were on a budget, and Adam worked with us to come up with a plan we could afford (which did not include everything either he or I would have liked). It really was a gut job on the old, dilapidated porch (covered, and screened in) due to rot and neglect. The results are basically a new porch, which is very solid and attractive. His team started on time, and did a truly amazing job. We are very happy with the results, and will be happy to be a reference.

Blue Monkey Pressure Washing and Wood Care
Kyle spent extra time with the mildewed porch railing and it looks good, although it identified some trim paint I need to do. This is the age of the paint and not Kyle's doing. The deck in back is in shade and did not dry quickly enough for it to be sealed on the same day. I expressed concern about the inbound hurricane messing up next week's weather, and the very next day Marcos returned to seal the deck. He did a splendid job. I paid more than the original offer because of the size of my decks. It was well worth it and I would hire Blue Monkey again.

    JPRO Painting & Restoration
I'm very pleased with the work. It was obvious from the very beginning of the project that Jean Paul cares about his business and believes in providing quality service. I found the team to be very responsive and accommodating in addressing all of my needs. I would definitely hire JPRO again!

Blue Monkey Pressure Washing and Wood Care
Jarrod and Marcos were great! Jarrod took care of all the pressure washing and Marcos came back and stained our deck. They were very responsive, super professional and I would DEFINITELY hire them again and recommend them to anyone.

    Southern Specialty Contractor LLC
The work went really well. Rod (the owner) observed roof damage caused by hail and managed the entire matter of dealing with the insurance company. He met with the insurance adjuster in my absence and handled pretty much everything. He worked EXTENSIVELY with insurance to get everything paid for that the policy was SUPPOSED to pay for. When insurance left things off (repeatedly) from the claim, ROD called and got it handled. When insurance was slow to send checks, Rod waited on the checks and did not ask me to pay. I doubt I could have gotten this paid by the insurance company at all, or at least would have been paid far less. and honesty, I would not have known to ask about insurance to begin with. I was unaware of the hail damage-- very obvious when Rod showed me, but I would probably have simply hired a roofer and paid without thinking of insurance, had not the damage been brought to my attention.

Fact of the matter is that other people from companies NOT related to Rod had suggested repairing ONLY the soffits, claiming it was caused by squirrel damage, never suggesting the roof leaking was the cause. Had I listened to others, I would have potentially spent thousands to repair things when a leaking roof would have let the new work be spoiled.

Southern Specialty accessed the OVERALL situation, and advised what needed to be repaired to actually stop the leak and to facilitate a long-term solution, though they were willing to do repairs based on my selection and in my order of preference. No "hard-selling", no pressure.

They found leaks that I had not seen causing lots of damage, like leaking chimney caps which caused problems including significant damage to the ceiling of a closet where the water ran down. (Who inspects the ceiling of a dimly lit walk-in closet often?) Again, very real issues that needed to be addressed but had long gone unnoticed... Clearly the competition only wanted to do repairs that they could offer and make money off of. The competition also failed to notice the roof leaks were caused by hail damage and that this could be an insurance matter. That oversight alone could have cost me MANY thousands out-of-pocket... thankfully, Southern Specialty helped me get paid properly by the insurance which we had been paying for over the last 20 years. It was nice to get paid what we deserved by our insurance for a change!

All the work for insurance was handled on one bill, and the rest of the work was handled separately. Insurance work was paid for completely by insurance. My price (from Southern Specialty) was adjusted down in some cases when insurance short-paid. I was never asked to pay extra for areas where insurance was not willing to pay enough, as sometimes seems to happen (on insurance-covered issues) with other contractors.
In the middle of the heaviest work, I came by several times to see perhaps a dozen workers in motion around my house working on several projects simultaneously. All workers were respectful and courteous. If I had a question, workers stopped what they were doing, and came and answered my questions. When I said I wanted things done particular way, people just did what they were asked without issue. It was somewhat amazing... We had a LOT of work done and not once was anybody rude or difficult to deal with.

A few small issues came up after the work was done-- things like loose trim or a small area of a wall repair that needed a bit of additional work. (Underscore "small" issues.) Hardly surprising with this much work needing to be handled. Rod sent people back to handle the concerns with no hassles, and no cost, so he clearly stands behind his work as well.
I could not have hoped for a better experience. Good contractors are hard to find. Give Rod ad Southern Specialty an opportunity to quote your job before you agree to work with anybody else.

    Epie's Electric Services
I needed a screen door fixed, rails added to my front porch and the hood over my stove fixed. They immediately went out to give me an estimate for the work. While on site doing the estimate they took a look at a small issue I was having with the hood. It was a simple fix and they took care of it for me free of charge. The work they did on the front porch was EXACTLY what I was looking for. We discussed their design and what I was looking for over the phone. The screen door was also fixed. They remained in constant contact with me throughout the process. I was extremely pleased with the whole process.

    Alain Pressure Washing
I asked Alain to quote on re staining the deck and front porch.  He returned about two weeks later and did that for about $1400.  We had to schedule around weather issues hanging over the area.  I am quite please with the work and teh look.

    TO PAINT AND RESTORE
A pleasure to work with. I was dismayed that our deck needed more general repairs than I had though, which caused the project scope to grow quite a lot. Ultimately, I'm happy to have had the work done as we were preparing to sell the house and wanted everything in top shape. A few bits of painting were left undone, but mostly in non-visible places (under the deck isn't visible unless exiting from the unfinished basement level, and it needs to remain unpainted for inspections). All in all a very good experience.

    Window Genie of Atlanta Metro
It went very well. The young man was very friendly, explained the process and did a thorough job on very dirty, older decks. He worked fast and efficiently. The decks looks almost new again, and we'll definitely continue to use and recommend this company.

    Everlasting Painting LLC
Purchased Angie's list deal on-line. Contacted the firm and was seen for analysis and estimate a few days later. Told we had wood rot that would increase the cost, but agreed to increased price. Received discount for being an Angie's list member and a discount on the wood required for repair of rot. Costs explained. Estimate e-mailed immediately. Work started the next week. Great follow-up from front office over the phone. Workers arrived as scheduled. Work took longer than expected; but workers explained delays. Work crew contacted us immediately with any and all problems. Throughout repair and painting, the work crew met with us daily to make sure we were pleased and answered all concerns. Additional costs were verified with front office, who immediately e-mailed an estimate for additional costs. Front office continued to keep in contact with us, helped with clarifications about selections of paint and wood stain, and checked on the finished product. Workers cleaned-up the site daily and at the end of their work. I would highly recommend this company to others needing house painting. Even our neighbors were impressed and at least one requested a quote for their house.
