  • I lived here through the gutting and reworking of my Master Bath, construction and outfitting of my Master Closet, the gutting and reworking of the Hall (Jims) Bath, the expansion of Jims Closet, Jims Coffee Closet, replacement of 7 Windows and demo, floor, wall, and door on Laundry/Utility Room. Jim is our room mate and master designer/ decorator of all the updates to our comfortable home When we, Mark and I, moved here the Master bath was a simple 6 X 9 - 3 piece. There was a 6 X 9 dressing area so we knocked out the wall and changed out the 3 piece for a corner soaker tub, a small corner shower and an over sized single vanity with storage pieces. The third 6 X 9 area was a small walk in closet. NOW : The small walk in closet became the prettiest shower I've ever had. Lovely linen like oversized ceremic tiles with small hexagon slate tiles on the ceiling and the floor, Most of one long wall is glass with no door and no sill at the entry. We installed some grab bars - I should say Florin installed the grab bars and did the shower construction and beautiful tiling. His attention to detail and making sure everything lined up perfectly keeps amazing me. There is a combo ceiling exhaust fan/heater and a single can light. We opted for a regular overhead shower and a hand held shower on a bar. The rest of the bath room came together perfectly. We have a new double vanity with a quartzite top, undermount sinks, single lever faucets, new mirrors. there is a smaller footprint but bigger interior soaker tub and all new reconfigured plumbing. The only hold up on the project was the additional plumbing, including upgrading cast iron to PVC, that needed to be done when we (I) changed the orientation of the tub and toilet. The only things we kept from our original bath were three wall light sconces and the almost new toilet. Dennis, Florin and the rest of the crew went out of their way making sure things were just right for me/us. MASTER CLOSET- Our fourth bedroom was a backup kid guest room and Marks closet dressing room from when he used to have to get dressed in the middle of the night. It was situated in between our Master Bdrm and Jims room. Florin knocked out the wall between the two closets, closed off the doorway and then partitioned off an addition to make a nice walk in closet for Jim and a super walk in closet connected by a brand new barn door type slider in the brand new doorway for me - and I got the double windows too. We have a combo of a couple furniture pieces and new built in shelves, drawers and hanging rods. JIMS BATHROOM - replaced tub & shower with a walk in shower with a floor to ceiling glass panel. Replaced the old vanity with a new large single sink vanity. Tiled with same Linen look ceramic tiles floor and walls to ceiling. Small slate hexagon tiles on shower floor. New mirror and light fixture. COFFEE CLOSET - the hall linen closet bumps up to shower water line so we had a water line run into the closet to hook into a coffee maker. Hot water for tea. Very handy. LAUNDRY/UTILITY/PANTRY - The original owner had made an opening between the Laundry room and the Family Room (our living room) and made a pass through with a bar top - there were some not very useful built in shelves so we had Florin tear it all out, close off the opening and install a bifold door. Then he replaced the black and white checked tile with some leftover tile from the bathrooms. We were able to combine some shelving and made more pantry space. And we don't have to look at it any more. Are we happy with our re-do - you bet! Do I recommend PHI - Dennis, Florin, Bennie, Danny, Ross, Tyler et all? You bet! Will we hire them again? You bet!

  • Showed up on time. Very professional at their work and respectful of ours. They are intelligent and experienced. Full wall demo and rebuild on carpet and we did not even have to clean up where they were working.

  • I highly recommend Arthur and Deedee of Precision Fence and Deck to work your project. Their initial response to give an estimate was quick. We agreed and set a schedule to have the work done. On the scheduled day they arrived and worked until my job was done. Everything was left neat and tidy. They even repaired a piece of the fence that was not on contract. I will gladly use them again,

  • Told them I wanted our house, and gazebo's roof replaced using the "angies list" special.  Also told them that I have gutter gaurd  gutters, and did not want ladders pushed up against them so they would not be bent. No problem we were told, however upon waking up at 8 in the morning, I go outside to discover that  the ladders are indeed on my gutters, since the workers did not know english, I had to call my contact Scott, who then contacted them to tell them to move the ladder. It also took 3 estimates to get a price....the first one was around 6,ooo ,but after I pointed out that all my other estimates said it was 40 square, they remeasured and found out there first  estimate was wayyyyy short, even though we singned that contract, i agreed to pay for what it should be based on the size of my roof....I still wanted a quality job. After agreeing to another price,  I mentioned ...again...about the gazebo, ( oh we forgot to measure that, one said, ....oh that gazebo is bigger than i thought said the other, and then after freaking out about how many more squares it would take, I yet agreed to another higher price. ....ok, so they do the roof, said they would replace any rotting wood etc on the main house....when they were finished you could tell that there were gaps between my gutters and the roof that was very noticable. ("its because your gutters arent all level, they said, and you have a drip edge holding up the edges of the shingles.,)even though they said it would look perfect after they were done.  So we tell them it does not look good, they come back out, and low and behold, we discover a whole section of rotting wood that they said was replaced, right in that section (  makes me wonder about the rest of the house.) Steve,( our favorite contact) was  appalled, Scott was indifferent ,and arguable at times, but they had their "go to" guy come out and repair it....In addition when I went to home depot and got a new exhaust gaurd for out hood unit, the guy had no idea how to put it in, and just placed it on the roof without connecting the actual exhaust piping and gave me the "there you go" look. I had to actually go on the roof, and do it myself. They then shingled around it, which later leaked, due to not being waterproofed around their nail holes. Now for the gazebo...Luckily after just one shingle put on, i went outside to see the result, and noticed all the nails coming through the roof  of my painted ceiling gazebo.....omg, I told them this was a concern, but it was not relayed to the worker...after I told them t them to stop, they finally went and got shorter finally looks great.  Oh, and after they rolled my  lawn for nails, I used my neighbors magnet roller, and got BUCKETS of nails out of my lawn, luckily my dogs did not find them the hard way!!  I really wanted to like these guys, they talked a good game, but i was just a sucker on their sales pitch. I'm sure they wont like this review, but it is as honest as can be, and they did come back to address my concerns ( after many calls, and missed mornings of " im coming out there")...I would probably pay a little more next time, and get a more "reputable" company.  sorry Crist.

  • Scott has completed the work in the basement to support the 1st floor,, added badly needed support to the existing back porch deck, and has added and fixed the metal flashing above that leaking window. Scott has been and continues to be the most professional and conscientious person we've ever contracted to do work on the house. He knows what he is talking about and obviously has many years of experience dealing with all kinds of home improvement work, as well as fixing what's broken. Scott has taken apart the garage and next on the list will be the support work in the garage to fix the sagging roof and improper second story support that was done by the original builder in 1979.This will not be the last time we have Scott work on the house and will recommend him to friends and family. He takes extra time to explain everything in detail to us, why and what he will be doing and answers any questions we might have. His work is impeccable, he goes above and beyond. He's very clean and organized and has hauled off extras that weren't part of the job which has made the job he did complete all the better!

  • When I first hired Dan to replace the stairs, I asked if we should go to Home Depot and purchase the stairs.  He said no.  There was a certain brand of attic stairs that was better than the others. He said he would pick them up himself and add the cost to our bill.  However, after seeing our old stairs and fixing them, this was unnecessary.  I really appreciated Dan's honesty and desire to do what was in our best interests.

  • They were okay when they were doing the work, but now I have a roof leak. I had called them and left a couple of messages, but I cannot get them to call me back. I did not have any dissatisfaction during the work. They showed up and did what they were supposed to do. There were a couple of mistakes here and there, but that happens because they did not exactly have a master plan. They were reasonably priced too. I would recommend them.

  • Everything was great. They came when they said they would, had the good sense to realize that my stairwell was constructed in a way that would not permit them to build the bookcases outside and then bring them in, so they built the bookcases in the office before installing them. They asked for my approval on the spacing of the shelves (I had already approved the overall design). They painted the shelves to my specification. The estimate they gave covered the work. It was completed slightly ahead of schedule.

  • The folks at B&J Roofing were professional and pleasant to deal with. While some roofing contractors were backed up two weeks or more for estimates, B&J Roofing was able to set an appointment in three days. The rep was punctual and very knowledgeable about both roofing and insurance reimbursement. I also appreciated that he was straight to the point and did not try to upsell. Once I made the decision to go with B&J Roofing, the job was scheduled about three weeks out. I appreciated that they worked to accomodate my schedule. The work was performed as scheduled and the installation went smoothly. Materials were delievered as scheduled and placed just as I had instructed. The job ran into a second day, but all waste material was cleaned up at the end of the first day and at the end of the job. No issues were encountered before, during or after installation. The roof looks great and has held up well to some heavy rains associated with thunderstorms as well as some heavy winds. There are 110 homes in my subdivision and around 80 had roof replacements after the Spring storms. Over half of the replacements were completed by B&J Roofing. I have not heard a single complaint from anyone who also used B&J Roofing. I would recommend them to others and would use them again.

  • This is a very reliable company. They were eager to help me relocate my storage shelves as well as help me on some carpentry work. Their quality of work was very good. So much so I am going to be using them again in the near future.
