    The Emory Clinic at 1525
It is a conglomerate of doctors. They are absolutely the best. They are part of Emory University here in Atlanta, Georgia which is a research university. I have always gone to teaching and research hospitals and clinics. So when I moved to Atlanta, I looked for the one in Georgia and that is Emory so that is how I wound up going there. For general stuff like primary physicians for physicals and tests and all that kind of stuff, we go there for everything. Anything you can imagine that you would need in terms of health care is there. The one reason I like them is because when sometimes when you go to a doctor, they will send you to another doctor to do something else or the lab is across town, everything is there so all your records are centralized and all doctors, everything.

My dry eye syndrome began slowly and progressively got worse. The optometrist had done all she could do. The pain was excruciating. I had been thinking it would get better, but it only got worse. One morning I could not take it any longer. I started calling around to see which opthamologists near me could see me. Luckily, Carlin Vision said they could see me in two hours (and only that long because they were closed for lunch for one of those hours.) I was so thankful.
I saw Dr. Michael DeRosa. He was intelligent, thorough, caring, and a good listener. Over the number of times I saw him, he always patiently answered all my questions (and I had a lot) and was never in a hurry. I liked that Dr. DeRosa started with the most conservative treatment first. However, my dry eye was so severe, and we had to try several different treatments. The treatments would work for awhile, and then I would get worse. Even though I was often in pain, he always reassured me that although mine was a challenging case, that we would get it solved. I never doubted him for a minute. (My dry eye was so bad that when I blinked I did not have enough fluid to cover my eye, so it was like I was scratching my cornea every time I blinked.) He did solve it, and finally I was pain free, and have been since July 2013.
I am so thankful for his intelligence, medical expertise, and caring manner. During one of my last visits, I asked to see the office manager so that I could tell her how pleased I was. Dr. DeRosa stuck with me through a difficult time and a challenging case. He never let me get discouraged as he worked his way from the most conservative treatment - just as I felt he should have. He always discussed and explained the treatment options to me, so that I could make an informed decision.
I am very picky about physicians and almost always see only physicians that one of my nurse or physician friends has recommended, and that is usually a physician that has treated them or a family member. However, in my hour of need, I was lucky enough to found a great opthamologist that I trusted. He gained my trust from the first visit and maintained it - something that is not a given for me. I simply could not have asked for a better opthamolgist. I will be forever grateful to Dr. Rosa for stopping my pain.
Everything else about the office is unbelievably great. I could always get an appointment quickly; the staff from the time you walk in to the time you check out are all so nice; I never had to wait more than 5 or 10 minutes to see Dr. DeRosa; the office is very pretty; there is plenty of parking; and they even offer coffee and treats!
I cannot say enough good things about Dr. DeRosa or Carlin Vision. It is unbelievable that one could have such a positive experience during such a difficult time.
