    Paul Tilson MD
    COMPLAINT AGAINST:
Dr. Paul J. Tilson & Staff
    412 Northside Drive East
    Statesboro, GA 30458

I have been a patient of Dr. Tilson for years. He does not create a positive patient/physician relationship. He says very little, and when he does respond to a question, he will not look directly at me, and especially will not make eye contact. He has in the past given me adequate exams. He does have long slender fingers, which may be important to some potential patients.

His office and professional staff on the date of my last visit were very rude and uncaring. I was 5-10 minutes late due to other chronic medical conditions. For my tardiness, I was punished. I can understand taking the next patient in line before me, but I was left in the waiting room for over an hour as 6-7 other patients were called in to see the doctor. When I was finally called, I was the  last patient in the waiting room. After being placed in an exam room, I complained to an uncaring nurse or aid. She rudely informed me that I still had to wait at least another 20 minutes before seeing the doctor. Shortly after she left, I decided that I was too weak and was in too much pain to wait any longer, and had actually had enough. I stuck my head out the exam room door and did not see anyone. In a loud voice I called out for the nurse(?) and told her that I would not wait any longer and that I was leaving. At this point, I suddenly became surrounded by staff and aids who said nothing to me. One young woman (I am being kind by calling her a woman. I have several more appropriate names.) then came walking very fast toward me and shoved me, screamed to me that I had to leave at that moment, and if I did not leave immediately, she would call the police. I told her to go ahead and call the police. I did not tell her, but I planned to have her arrested for assault. We would have spent the night in adjoining cells in the Statesboro jail. She did not call the police, so my plan to have her arrested failed. An unfriendly and loud confrontation ensued. I then walked out and have not decided if I will ever return. When I left, I stated that I would never return.  The "woman" later called my wife to invite me back, promising her that I would be treated immediately, with dignity, with proper medical care,  and ( that every employee would bow down and kiss my feet and shower me with buckets of gold). I am joking about the last part of the last sentence. Is "she" worried about something?  What does the doctor have to say about my returning? I need to know his feelings to even consider going back.

I am a 70 year old very sick man who must use a walker. I take 25 prescription meds from 1 to 4 times per day. When  "she" shoved me, she hurt my arm and my wrist hit the walker. I now have a large bruise on my wrist, and pain in my side, back, and calf of one leg.  I am very weak, and could have been severely injured had I fallen. I have had ventricular tachycardia, two heart attacks and open heart surgery, have congestive heart failure, have a rear lung disease known as RADS (much worse than asthma) causing me to have severe difficulty breathing, pulmonary emboli (numerous blood clots in my lungs), cervical disk surgery, one bad ankle, two bad hips, one bad knee, one bad shoulder, bad lumbar and cervical spine with chronic pain, type 2 diabetes, polymialgia (which is similar to fibromialgia, but affects all the nerve endings over my entire body causing sever pain when the smallest of my grandchildren tries to hug me), low blood pressure, dizziness, tremors, loss of feeling in my hands, loss of sleep due to pain, extreme weakness, and several other less serious conditions. I am sure that I forgot something.

My attorney has advised me to sue the "woman" and the doctor as her employer. I had no contact with the doctor during this visit. He stayed hidden away because he was too afraid to confront me (my theory). I am not one to sue others, except tenants in my rental property who will not pay. I will probably not sue, and will just try to forget it mainly due to my health. My attorney is foaming at the mouth. He wants money in his pocket. Have you ever met an attorney who did not want to sue immediately. My wife and I have our plates full, and we do not know if we are mentally or physically able to get involved in a law suit.

I UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT YOU MAY SHARE THIS COMPLAINT WITH THE DOCTOR.  I may send him a copy.

    Thanks,
Stonepointe (They know who I am.)

He is personable. He is friendly. He makes me feel comfortable. The office is ok. He is very pleasant. The only thing I did not like was that I was sedated for this exam.
