    I called on Monday and got an appointment with Dr. Dombek the next morning. My appointment was at 9:30 am, I arrived at 9:15 and filled out the paperwork. They took me back at 9:40. The nurse came in and asked me several questions about my toe and left. I waited about 30 minutes before Dr. Dombek came in and during that time the nurses/assistants kept coming by and telling me he would be right in. When Dr. Dombek came in he introduced himself, he was very apologetic for the long wait, He examined my toe and explained what needed to be done. He asked the nurse to prep me, which involved injecting novacaine in my toe to numb it before the surgery. The nurse was very gentle and didn't hurt me at all. Dr. Dombek came in a short time later and checked to make sure my toe was completely numb. The surgery was completely painless. When the bandaging and instructions were complete, I left at 11:30 am. It has been 3 days now and my toe is doing great. Although it did take a little longer than I expected, I was very pleased with Dr. Dombek and his staff.

    The main problem I have with this doctor is, I was taking his medication as prescribed. When I ran out of money, or could not refill the prescription, I got an email from Dr. Sherman saying he knew I wasn't taking my medication. I read further on in the email, and he said he was going to list me as non-compliant. He has an online portal where you can submit feedback and speak with the doctor. I tried to explain to him that I ran out of money. Once I stopped taking the Cymbalta, I felt better. I told the doctor this, but when I tried to sign in to the online portal to see his response, he had deactivated my account.

    After all that, it got me thinking about my experience at the doctor's office when I went there. The first appointment was just him. He was quite talkative. He seemed more like a used car salesman than a doctor. His practice seemed like a place that had recently moved, as in they didn't have everything together. They were changing software and updating patient records from written form to computer. People were doing this 10 years ago. Why are they just doing this now? On the second visit, he had a nurse practitioner in there he was training. He started talking on about and quot;complianceand quot; and acting strange towards me. He wouldn't tell me anything before he did it. I got still and watched his every move. He made me feel tense. Then he grabbed the stethoscope, and I felt more comfortable. The whole time I was in the room, he wasn't talking to me. He talked to the nurse practitioner instead. This was after I was taking Cymbalta, so it all felt like a surreal event, like he knew more about the medication than I did.

    He didn't communicate fast. He tried to talk his way into doing something, except for the statin. I didn't know anything about Cymbalta. In the pharmacology, they claim to not know exactly what it does. It is supposed to increase dopamine levels.

    They stated I didn't have a good report with the doctor but I never had a chance to get a good report with him. I don't feel that communication over email should have an influence on my relationship with him and our report. The doctor ended up discharging me from his practice.
