    Top It Construction
Really well. The attention to detail and knowledge base of Joe and Dave were brilliant. Joe is an extremely focused and skilled artisan. During pre-construction talks about how to do the porch, Joe immediately was able to share our visions for the porch. Joe and Dave worked tirelessly and expertly. They were a joy to watch! I highly recommend Top It Construction for any needs. We will definitely hire Joe again. Thank you Joe and Dave for making our eyesore a thing of beauty again.

Alex & Bros Painting & Renovations
After not showing for scheduled appointment twice with out the courtesy of even a phone call, I was told that he did not do low cost jobs because I live in a mobile home and he only did work ok no REAL homes.. this was without even looking at the job needed or giving a quote...would never do business with such an unprofessional company, not to mention rude.

We were extremely pleased with the work that was done. From the initial meeting to clean up when everything was completed, the problem solvers were professional, thorough, and extremely knowledgeable.

    Perna Construction & Flooring, LLC
The crew arrived on time. Were very professional.  Cleaned up the work area every day before leaving.  Kept us informed on what they were doing. The men that worked on the deck cleaned all the debris that was under the boards and put down a foundation for the new boards.  Their work was very good. The tile men did an excellent job with an area that was challenging. The shower looks really great.

    Horton Remodeling
John Horton and his crew are far and away the best craftsmen and contractors I have worked with.  They're honest, punctual, and the quality of their work is superior to any other contractor I've worked with.  I've contracted them for several projects recently, including repairing severe termite damage.  Where another local contractor told me repairing the damage would take 2 weeks, John had it completed in about 2 days, and that was after I continued to expand the original scope of the project.  I was so pleased with their work I had them back to modify and update my front porch and dormers (in addition to a bunch of other work I kept adding on).  The bottom line is that John Horton is quite possibly the only contractor in Savannah that will actually show up when he says he will and the quality of his work is second to none.

Arrived promptly for quote; agreed on work and arrived at the agreed upon time with all materials and crew to do the work. Worked early until late and next day until all work was finished.  All work completed, cleaned up and finished within proposed time frame (2 days). Excellent work, had to wait 2 weeks as his schedule was full.  Was cordial, professional and his crew was too.  No muss, no fuss.  Would definitely hire again.

Billy and his team finished up my house-painting today, and I could not be more pleased. The work is 100% professional, including not just the extensive prep (the old paint was in rough shape) and application of new paint, but also the replacement of water-damaged wood and a much-needed structural repair. They are very careful not to make a mess, and they clean up the area after themselves each day. They show up when scheduled and finish when they say they will. Best of all, the results are beautiful. It doesn't get better.

    Horton Remodeling
First to last John Horton and his team are truly exceptional!  If you are looking for someone that you can depend on to do a first class job for you Horton Remodeling is the right choice.  John is a complete professional as are all of his men.  He very quickly scheduled an appointment to give me an estimate on the job.  He arrived with a clip board, examined all the work to be done and was able to provide us with a detailed estimate within 24 hours.  His estimate was not the least expensive of the three that we had requested but it was certainly the most thorough and it specified two coats for all of the painting whereas other painters specified only one. Also, it was obvious from the start that his attention to detail was much more comprehensive. As it turns out, based on the amount of time and expertise that Horton Remodeling spent on the job, we are convinced that his pricing is very competitive.
John and his team showed up exactly on the date that we had agreed upon and they stayed on the job, without interruption, until it was completed, totally to our satisfaction.  Our home was built in 1879 and is located in the Downtown Historic District, this means that not only are parts of it very old, requiring extra labor, but also any changes that are made need to be reviewed by the commission and any replaced shutters needed to match those that were being replaced.  With 22 windows and 22 pairs of shutters, not to mention three sets of french doors and, numerous decorative corbels around the roof line the scraping and painting process was extremely labor intensive.  The shutters required extensive scraping, priming and repainting.  Some new shutters had to be obtained and John actually had new ones altered so that they matched, exactly, the existing ones.  Throughout four weeks of on site work his painters and carpenters were polite, respectful, careful and most important -- very skilled in the execution of their work.  They refused to re-hang the shutters until they were absolutely sure that they were as perfect as they could get them.  Likewise, they painstakingly repainted the french doors three times because they were not absolutely pleased with how they looked. Every day they arrived early ready to work and when they left at the end of the day their equipment was carefully stowed away and every work area was swept clean.
The attic stair replacement was complicated by the fact that the existing old stair had broken and we had it sealed within the drop down door until it could be repaired.  John's men showed great creativity, as well as courage( they had to stand on ladders above the staircase without knowing if the existing stairs might fall on them), in dislodging the old stairs, removing them without causing further damage (to the antique staircase as well as two crystal chandeliers which complicated the project).  They also showed skill and creativity in installing the new stairs.  Since we had them working in that area already we also had them paint the hallway as well -- their interior painting is equally as good as their exterior work.
During this project our garage door, old and worn out, broke.  Without realizing that Horton Remodeling could have replaced it I mistakenly called a garage door specialist.  They came out and did a very poor job replacing the door.  John, and some of his team members, were able to explain to us what was wrong with the installation (just kindly sharing their knowledge) and we were then able to get a new door installed correctly.  Clearly, they could do a wonderful job with garage doors as well.
First to last Horton Remodeling was A+++, it is so good to know that there are professionals out there that you can absolutely trust to do an excellent job for you.  We still have a couple of other projects that we intend to call them in on, obviously they are qualified to do just about anything in the remodeling arena.  May they stay in business forever, we will sleep easier at night knowing that whatever help we might need with this truly loved but antique home, we have this reliable resource to call upon.

    Lawson Projects, Inc
I didn't Mr. Lawson was good about getting back in touch with us and was always very friendly/polite.  His estimate was very reasonable and since we were willing to do some of the finishing work ourselves it was well below what other contractors had quoted us. He really worked with us as far as talking us through what the best options were and what we were able to afford/wanted.
The only downside to the job at all really was that I didn't feel the job was checked over before they left. What I mean is my husband was home to oversee the job and when I got home the front door didn't latch, only the top bolt worked. And the screen door they created to our backyard stuck really badly. These were not huge fixes, the front door needed to be shaved down some and the garage door the framing needed some decent sanding. They did come back to fix these issues within a week but I still was just not fully satisfied with the jobs finishing touches (and I did all the patching/filling and painting). I would recommend them but just be prepared to put some work into the job as well : )
