Lighting Installation reviews in Sandy Springs

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • We contracted with Mike Hood (owner of Home-Aid Home Repair) at the beginning of April and we wanted to get the work done in a budget friendly fashion as well as get a good quality work. We were not going to use any handyman off the street as a major beam needed to be put in the basement and possibly new columns also as we were breaking down walls and opening up the space. Mike gave us an estimate for cost as well as time. He lived up to both of them. The costs are always expected to vary based on the changes that are needed as the projects goes on especially if you want safety as well as aesthetics. Overall we enjoy our new basement: the open space, the new tiles and backsplash as well as the new carpets and paint. We have had many parties in the basement since May and really enjoy the company. Now we will feel we have realized the potential of the home we bought 5 years ago. Altogether a great job. Will be more than happy to talk with anyone about the job.

  • Amazing final results. Lissette has an incredible gift for design, and creating beauty. In addition to removal and installation of completely new kitchen, She offered suggestions for other ways to enhance the remodeling of my 60-year old traditional ranch home in Sandy Springs. I did almost 100% of what she suggested and the results are amazing, based on the view of everyone who has seen the finished project.

  • We have used Kevin Prater from Superior Electricians twice for separate electrical issues and both times he has provided excellent service, quality craftsmanship, and fair pricing. Will definitely use him in the future and highly recommend to others!

  • Following a kitchen renovation, I moved a four switch box to the opposite side of a wall. I decided to have a pro come in to run some extra wiring, make the proper connections, and ensure that the project was "per code." Contacted Lightning Bug after seeing hundreds of positive reviews on Angie's List, Kudzu, and Google. Lightning Bug sent James to my home within 36 hours of my call. James inspected my work, made recommendations, and then presented me with a written quote for the work. The quote was a couple of hundreds dollars less than I expected following my previous experiences with All Good and Mr. Sparky. James is very knowledgable and did good, clean work. I will definitely call Lightning Bug for my next project.

  • Mr. Ross of Strife Management was very knowledgeable in every phase of the remodeling I needed done and was there every single day making sure it was being done perfectly. Mr. Ross and his men were very kind and very helping when I needed to change my mind on a few changes I wanted, and they worked fast. I really hope I never have to worry about hiring another contractor ever again, because I believe anyone else would be a step down. I would recommend Mr. Ross and his company for any project!

  • The contract was signed 10/13/2015
    12/29 started the demo
1/4 put down flooring, but the rest of the materials not delivered because of a supplier problem.
1/12 still no materials and underdeck was leaking.
    2/5 underdeck fixed properly
2/8 work resumed, but there is still a problem with missing materials.  New worker replacing customer service owner who was managing the project.
2/17 homeowner noticed post sleeve skirts put up the following day were hanging off the deck instead on on it and brought it to new workers attention the next day.
2/18 He offered to custom correct the skirts with materials not under warranty.  Customer did not agree to this and both agreed the posts would be moved to the correct measurement.
2/19 Customer discovered the posts were not moved but cut down to a smaller size so the sleeves would fit on the deck.  The problem is the azek posts do not fit snuggly around the wooden posts making the post unsecure. The customer believes this to be a safety issue and possible a code violation.  The new worker was asked to stop work.  I called the company owners to discuss the correct way to finish this project.  All azek materials are still not delivered.
2/23 Owners said the posts would be rebuilt to the correct specs and everything would be finished within the week.
On 3/21 Everything was finished to the customer's satisfaction with the exception of a remote dimmer that was supposed to be delivered within three days.  I paid and asked the co-owner if I gave them the remainder of the check would he deliver the remote.  He said absolutely.
4/13  I do not have the remote at the time I'm writing this review.
With the exception of not receiving the remote and the schedule issues (this was supposed to be a two week project) I'm happy with the overall product.  I would recommend Innovative Woodworks, but I felt I had to stay totally engaged to ensure progress and the schedule delays were extensive.

  • HAD PURCHASED SOME NEW ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT, RECEIVERS, DVD ETC.   UPGRADED TO HDMI.  MOVED SOME EQUIPMENT FROM ONE ROOM TO ANOTHER.   TRAVIS, CODY AND ANDRE WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL.   They got right to work, were organized and worked well together.  They were able to install new equipment, program my new Harmony receiver making it very easy to watch, TV, DVD or Netflix with no hassle.  Even got my outside speakers hooked up after several years of no outdoor music.   Once the new equipment was installed we moved the receiver and DVD player from the living room to the home theater, quickly got everything hooked up.... programmed my old genesis remote from the living room to the theater and it now does everything including the lights.   NOW CAN WATCH IN EITHER PLACE WITH ONLY 1 REMOTE CONTROL.... WHAT A PLEASURE .

  • This guy is truly amazing! We just moved into this condo and were told that because it had popcorn ceilings and had a unit above it, it would be difficult to add new fan/lights in any ceiling without making a bunch of holes.  There was no access above the ceiling on a second floor.  Another contractor had estimated he would have to make 5 or 6 holes in the ceiling for each fixture.  We knew we would have to hire someone to patch the popcorn ceiling and that even a professional would not be able to make it look perfect.
Allan approached it an a very methodical way, first figuring out which way the ceiling beams were situated and going out and buying a long tool to thread the wire across inside the ceiling.  He took it as a personal challenge to get all three fixtures in without ANY holes other than where the fixtures went, and he did it.  He fished the wire through the ceiling from one room to another which was not an easy task.  He is creative and persistent and there were no holes at all to patch!  Consummate professional!  Boss, give this guy a raise... everything looked great and we saved a lot of money and aggravation not having to patch the (miserable) popcorn ceiling.

    • The motto of this company is "Be elite and a servant to all!", but in my experience with them over three jobs and four months, I didn't feel I was dealing with the elite, and I didn't feel particularly served.  Here's what I experienced:
    • (1) They are apparently constantly overbooked.  Expect to wait two weeks before they can come out and diagnose, then expect to wait two more weeks before they can come back and do the job.
    • (2) Each of the three jobs I had done ended up with problems that required a return visit after they thought they were done.  If you don't press them, it'll be another week or two before they come fix what isn't right.
    • (3) The biggest of the three jobs, taking out my ancient gas heater and replacing it with an electric one, was also the most problematic.  When they were "done," there was a significant amount of construction debris left lying around, there was a hand-sized blob of caulking on my deck (it's a mystery to me how that happened), the heater was tripping my circuit breaker (causing other lights in the house to go off), no operating instructions were left behind, and the house's water heater was off (because they turned off the gas for a bit to remove the old furnace and didn't pause to think that they might extinguish the pilot light in the process).  Once I diagnosed the water heater problem, I was able to relight it myself with no problem.  But they wanted a week or so to come fix the other issues and only agreed to come sooner when I put my foot down and told them I wanted them to be as quick about fixing problems as they were about billing me in full for the work (which is always instantaneous).  The icing on the cake was that they didn't cap the old gas line properly.  It was leaking and I had to have Atlanta Gas come out - they showed up in 30 minutes, being sensitive to gas leaks - and do that part of the job right.
    • (4) Why, then, did I have them out for the third job?  Because I thought the problem might have been caused by the second job.  It apparently wasn't, but I went ahead and had them do the work, which also ended up having some issues.
    • (5) After my experiences, I'm not intending to have them out again.  It's difficult to find reliable spa repair people - harder than with other trades, for some reason - and my hopes were up when I saw the great Angie's List ratings.  But now I'm just befuddled as to how this company has managed such good reports.

  • Everything went extremely well. Tim was one of the best contractors I've ever worked with. He was very responsive and came back to fix things anytime I asked. They were professional, arrived on time, and delivered an excellent product. I would absolutely use them again and recommend them to others
