Appliance Repair reviews in Sandy Springs

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • Their specialty is the no-show. You sit there for four hours waiting. Once they called and said that they couldn't make it, and another time they didn't call. I complained to American Home Shield; the company (JFA) claimed they called and left me a voice mail that they weren't coming, but that wasn't true. Finally on the third attempt they completed the job. They did do the work in a quality fashion, but I got the run-around from them. Perhaps they are a victim of their own success; too many jobs to do and not enough workmen.

  • Great--Excellent work and prompt responsive communication: repaired old but high quality washer, tuned up drier and now both working like new. Also installed under-cabinet microwave with range hood. Professional and personable, too. Best appliance repair/installation experience we've had. Wish we knew about this company years ago.

  • I used an Angie's List offer for a Diagnostics call. They came and determined that the outlet was working but the dryer was in need of repair due to the move. The provided an estimate which I believe was a fair estimate but was almost the same cost as a new dryer (since my dryer was a basic dryer) so I decided to purchase a new dryer. They were fast, punctual, and professional. I would use them again.

  • I called on a Friday morning at 8:00, and Ken arrived before 9:00. The refrigerator was old, and it turns out that the broken part was on backorder (I verified it myself through numerous websites), so it couldn't be repaired during a reasonable time period. But Ken tried everything he could think of to "hotwire" the fridge and get it running, anyway. He really put in a lot of effort. In the end, I decided the best solution was just to buy a new refrigerator, but next time I need a repair, I'm likely to call Lanny Adams.

  • I called A+ and was greeted on the first ring.  Dion informed me that he could be out that afternoon to assess the problem.  He texted to let me know he was on the way and arrived at the time we agreed to. Once there, he looked at the dryer and determined we needed to swap out the outlet.  The work was performed that day and I thought the price was more than fair.  This is not the first time we have used A+.  Each time I have called Dion has been able to come out in a very timely manner and make the necessary repairs for what I consider a very fair price.

  • The guy came in and initially said that all my cooktop needed was routine cleanup of the burners and surrounding area. After some time he said that he needs to take out the entire cooktop frame off the countertop to fix one of the clogged burners and fix the sparking mechanism and it would cost an extra ~$200 for that. We told him to go ahead. After an hour, he said "the burner's tube was rusted up and he needed to order the part" for another $250 but he promised that with the new parts, the cooktop would be back to full working condition. We said ok and it took him more than week to come back. Once he returned, he installed the new burner but told us that the sparking mechanism could not be repaired because the electrical box was in an inaccessible place below the counter. Even after he installed the new burner, we kept smelling cooking gas every time we used that new burner. We texted the guy multiple times after his last visit but he never responded.
After about a week of leaky gas smell and no responses, we just decided to get a new cooktop.
Overall we saw multiple broken promises, shoddy work and lack of responsiveness bordering on unprofessionalism. At every step the message was "yeah I can fix it but it will be an extra $xx" but in reality, little was fixed. If I needed a new cooktop, they could have just told me the truth.
I would not wish these guys on my worst enemies.

  • It went great. I have to pay $130 more. They had to order the part and we were told it would be a couple of days and we never heard from them. Finally, my husband had to call and it probably took 5-7 days for them to get the part and out here. Everything else is fine.

  • Agazi was amazing, he came the same day, fixed my Cuisinart, then came back to help me connect my Tivo.  It was missing a cable so he couldn't complete but didn't charge me - who does that!  I tried to give him some money, he wouldn't take it.  He showed up at the exact time he said he would be there, was fast, professional and I felt safe with him in the house.

  • I saw the good reviews and thought that AK would be able to help me.
I called AK because my washer was not draining completely and my dryer was making a banging noise.
During the first visit, AK fixed my washer that was not draining.
I did not feel like he was listening to what I was saying about the dryer, which was that it was making a banging noise. He said he did not hear any squealing noise (because it wasn?t making a squealing noise). The washer was fixed...the dryer did not get fixed. I called him to come back.
During the second visit, he said he had to order a part.
Third visit, after he worked on the dryer the banging noise stopped and it was replaced with a THUMPING noise.  I said that maybe I should just buy a new dryer instead of putting all the money into this one. (It?s only 7 years old and has less than normal wear and tear as I live alone.) He insisted that GE is a very good dryer and I should repair.
My gut told me to call a different company but I really wanted him to make good on his work?I really wanted to believe the good reviews.
Fourth time, he took the dryer completely apart and said he would need to order yet another part and come back. As he was leaving he went on and on about how difficult GE dryers are and he cannot figure out what is wrong.
Fifth visit (today), he decided that the drum needs to be replaced?for $270. (I?m wondering now if the drum was damaged when he took the drum out of the dryer the other day and climbed inside to "work on it.") I will not have him come back.
    Very, very disappointing!!
Now after 5 visits, I am out $416 AND my dryer is still not fixed. (The $416 does not include the $ for servicing my washer because it was fixed.)
Perhaps dryers are not his thing?
My rating is a D for overall, price & quality because after $416, my dryer is STILL not fixed. (If I had called him only about my washer this would have been a different review.)
I'm glad others were able to get their appliances fixed. I wish my dryer had been fixed.

  • It was the best $49 I ever spent!  He walked in with his tools, looked at my washer, explained the problem and informed me of my options. He then turned on the dishwasher, explained the problem and informed me of those options. He didn't up-sell me. Very honest man!
