They're efficient. You get in and get out. I don't have to sit and wait for them. They have knowledgeable PAs there, and that's generally who I see. I typically wait 15 minutes at the most to be seen when I arrive. They're convenient to my location and seem to always get me in -- even though they are always busy.

This was my first visit and I will definitely return for regular checks as the doctor suggested.  Unlike other dermatologists I have used in other cities, and some I have heard about here, I saw the doctor rather than a PA.  I did not have to wait long to get the appointment scheduled, I was not in the Waiting Room more than 15-20 minutes before being called back, and the doctor was thorough and clear.

I had just moved to a new area and was having a very bad break-out on my face. I found Dr.Cavalier through my insurance website. I booked an appointment with Dr. Cavalier for 1/09/12. The office was easy to find. It was nicely decorated and very clean. The staff was friendly and prompt. Unfortunately, when I went into the exam room I was surprised to find out that I was not actually seeing Dr. Cavalier, but someone else. She introduced herself as Racheal and I assumed she was another dermatologist in the practice, but at the end of the visit when I got her card I discovered she was a physician's assistant, not a doctor. I have never had this happen anywhere before. When I book an appointment with a doctor I expect to see a doctor. If I was going to see someone different, I think that should have been clear at the time I booked the appointment or, at the very least, before the exam. The P.A. looked at me from across the room and concluded I was having a Rosacea break-out and prescribed 3 medications that I had not been given before. She said she would provide a discount coupon for two of the medications as they were somewhat expensive. The nurse brought me a packet with the coupons and other paperwork. When I got to the pharmacy there was only one coupon in the packet they gave me. Additionally, the oral medication she prescribed for Rosacea was $500.00 for a 30 day supply - with insurance. Even the generic was $465.00. The pharmacist explained to me that there were older versions of the same drug that were just as effective as the one prescribed and the generic for those only cost about $8.00. The other two topical drugs prescribed were about 200.00 for both (even with the one coupon). I wanted to see a doctor and I certainly didn't expect to spend $700.00 on medications. I have been treated for acne and Rosacea breakouts for over 30 years with other dermatologists and I have always seen the doctor I booked the appointment with and I have NEVER been prescribed medications that cost that much. Then when I got the bill, I was charged for seeing the doctor when I did not actually see her. And on top of everything else, the office visit charge was more than my insurance company would cover, so I had to pay $112.00 out of pocket for a 5 minute visit with a P.A.! I found the whole experience extremely frustrating.

.Every visit is pleasant and close to appointment time with minimal waiting. Her PA's are equally competent. I wish that she would perform MOHS surgery
