Chimney Repair reviews in Roswell

These folks, who I have used a few times before, are getting very very expensive to deal with. I recently requested an estimate to replace a rotting trim board at the top of my chimney. The average estimate I received from other contractors was $500. . Their estimate was $1285..and it came with an ominous warning "Who knows what ELSE we may find once we are on your roof?" I actually had it professionally repaired, in the end, for $450.. Shop around and get many competitive estimates before using Trusted Toolbox..or anyone else for that matter.

    Stucco & Masonry Renovators LLC
Ernesto gave me an estimate of when he could start and how much it would cost. He had an unscheduled opening sooner and asked if I wanted to schedule him sooner. I did and his company exceeded my expectations.

    Chimney Solutions of Roswell
The day before the scheduled work, they sent me an e-mail confirming that per our recent phone conversation, the scheduled work was canceled. This conversation never took place because they called my old number and didn't actually speak to me. The CSR didn't even verify the identity of the person on the other end of the phone...she simply canceled the appointment. I guess they have enough business. A quick contact record check when receiving the initial call to verify the customers phone number could have avoided this. I needed this work done on that week, and they could not re-schedule the work for another 6 days. Needless to say I have contacted another company.

    Kevin Murphy Construction LLC
Kevin and his team were great. He was exactly on time for both the estimate and the repair. He and his crew were very professional and did a fantastic job. The workmanship was superior, and the results were better than expected - even the clean-up was thorough. I will be using him for another job shortly. I would strongly recommend him.

    Atlanta Fireplace Specialists
They were very knowledgeable regarding fireplaces and chimneys. I learned that the cost to have the fireplaces redone to burn wood vs. gas was more than I was willing to pay. They could have oversold me, but they did not. I appreciate their professionalism and their expertise. If I ever did decide to put in new gas firebox, these are the guys I would call.

    Atlanta Chimney Doctor LLC
After being initially unsatisfied, Chuck contacted me and came to my house to look at the problem and determined that the Pan and Shroud was not installed correctly. He was able to quickly fix the problem and now the chimney no longer leaks. Thank you Chuck for taking care of this problem.

Excellent customer service from start to finish!  We just had Sweepy Hollow come out for a total fireplace renovation - from old brass and marble to stunning stone and reclaimed wood. Everything was done exactly when Mike said it would be done - very professional work and my fireplace now looks amazing!  Highly recommend Sweepy Hollow!

    The Painting Company
This is my first large experience with contractors. I guess like any contractor you have to stay on top of everything. When we initially spoke with with the project manager we said we wanted any siding pieces replaced that were rotten or damaged. We pointed out any initial spots we knew of, but also said they were likely to find additional pieces as they would have a better eye for these things. Also additional damaged areas may crop up after pressure washing that weren't previously easily seen. Near the end I crawled on the roof and took photos all around the house to show the project manager and point out I just want everything that is rotten to be swapped out. Pros: * good work on siding * friendly workers * good communication with the painters themselves Cons: * I'll need to do some scraping and repaint a few places ( bubbling up and or peeling already) * I was out of town and told "The East Atlanta Painting Company" ( EAPC ) multiple times to contact my wife and update the email/phone number on the account and they never did. She gave them her phone number and email when contracting the job. * we were quoted over the phone for additional chimney work $1,900 then that changed to $2,100 via email ok sure sure maybe had a few hangups or job was harder than first look. The final quote was $2,400 !? that 500$ difference ? my wife talked them back down to 2100. Please pick a price and stick with it, or at least be able to back up the charges * I had to spoon feed them and stay on top of the siding people and the painters. More so the siding. We had a 1in hole basically 3 stories up (ya I know it high ) but I had to say something about it like 2-3 times before it was done. My wife also said something about it. * Since we were under the understanding that pieces that were damaged were going to be replaced, we thought the carpenters would find and replace everything that would be needed and I wouldn't have to go around the house poking around and finding rotten siding after they thought they were done because not everything was written up in the original quote. Yes, we understood if something totally out of scope would cost extra (like the chimney which was a mess and required its own quote), but apparently if it's not specifically written out in the initial quote they're reluctant to do the work. If it's going to cost a few extra bucks, we can talk about it and get it done. So my take away from this is, be sure to go over with the project manager any and all problems that you are aware of and specifically what work needs to be done.

    Pro Roofing & Siding
I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank the team at Pro Roofing and Siding for a professional job done on my chimney cap and gutters. Everything was done promptly and they had competitive prices with great service. Juan Reyes and his team helped us through the whole process with quoting and installation. They were great.

    Animals B Gone
I had used Animals B Gone for work at a previous house. We had squirrels in the attic space. They did exclusion work and I was very satisfied. Part of the appeal for me was their commitment to humane trapping. Therefore, when I had what I assumed was a significant problem in the attic of my current house - they were an obvious choice again.
Sean responded promptly and did an initial inspection. He found evidence of squirrels inside the attic - but once up on the roof, found that siding on the chimney had been pulled away leaving a significant hole. This appeared to be the work of a raccoon. With flash flood warnings, we were expecting serious rainfall. Sean immediately performed temporary repairs to make sure water didn't get in - but in a way that allowed any animal inside the attic to still be able to get out. These temporary repairs were free.
We discussed and agreed upon exclusion work. This involved putting mesh around the roof line to stop animals getting in. Similar work was done around the chimney. As is always the case - Sean took extensive photos of what he saw and gave clear rationale for his approach.
I also brought up some other issues around the gutters. In some areas - they were getting clogged. Sean volunteered some observations regarding water damage. I was already considering gutter covers. Sean suggested several different options to address the gutters - not all of the options involved using their services.
In the end - I had the exclusion work done - and the chimney repaired. Flashing was added around the gutters and roof to control water flow. Gutters were covered on the upper roof and extended in a couple of places to alleviate very obvious issues where upper level gutters drained onto the lower roof rather than directly into lower gutters. I am very happy with what my dollars achieved.
I have an older house and there is much work to be done. I will have no hesitation in using Animal B Gone again.  Apparently - they are extending their service offering and I have deferred some repairs which I will call upon them to do at a later date. There is an honesty I feel when dealing with them that I find very refreshing. It makes me happy to give my hard-earned dollars to local business. As Sean said - they warranty their work. The only way their business makes money is if they do the work to a standard that negates the need for further warranty repairs.
Clear communication. Quality service at a reasonable price. Peace of mind. I am totally satisfied and felt compelled to write this review.
