  • You WILL NOT find better craftsmen to work on your house and their price was lower than 3 other bids. This is the third time they've done work. Simply outstanding. Did carpentry work on the eaves, repaired ceiling drywall where wife put knee through from attic, repaired corner taped joints in 20' ceiling. Repaired drywall ceiling in garage that had to be removed to access plumbing for upstairs bathroom. All the work is PERFECT! I'll never use anyone else.

  • We have worked with Georgia Floors Direct in the past going back to 2007 and came back recently for a job that had to be done as a result of a slab leak. We worked with Gabe Albright and could not have been happier. Gabe was extremely knowledgeable and informed us of all of our options and was extremely professional as well. He made sure every need was taken care of. Now, unfortunately, 2 months later we have had another slab leak and the first person we called was Gabe. Cannot recommend a company or staff member more than GFD and Gabe. Thanks so much for taking great care of us! Patty Pierce

  • John promptly returned my call, came to evaluate the repair, prepared an estimate for repair all within 2 days. After the appointment was made John arrived on time to begin work on our garage. He was very professional and did a wonderful job from start to finish. He left his work area very very clean. I would definitely higher John again to repair items in our home and I highly recommend people reading this review higher John also.

  • I went to Georgia Floors Direct to look for carpet to replace our 25-year-old carpeting in the master bedroom and bath. ?I needed it quickly installed because some unexpected guests (my parents) were coming for an extended visit, and they would have to use the downstairs bedroom (they are in their 80s) and my mom has allergies that made our existing carpet -- old, stained, and full of cat hair and I'm sure many more allergens -- a problem. ?I dealt with Preston at GFD; I gave him a sketch of the area to be covered, and he estimated the amount of carpet I'd need and invited me to browse their stock, including a number of remnants, which were lower in cost, due to the fact that I only needed one room. ? I wanted a gray carpet, but with the amount I needed, none of the remnants would work, so I moved on to the rest of their stock. ?I found a beautiful charcoal gray short shag that was perfect, although a little darker than I was looking for, and after some discussion with Preston in which he pointed out a flaw (which I hadn't even noticed) I bought it and a new pad to go with it. ?The entire cost was very reasonable, just over $1000 for about 280 square feet including the pad. ?Preston gave me the phone number of one of their installers, who did the job within three days of my call. ?He and a helper arrived at about 10 am and removed the old carpeting and pad, cleaned the area, installed the new pad and carpet, and cleaned up and hauled away the old carpet within about 5 hours. ?They did not have to pack or move any furniture; I took care of all that, and its return afterward. ?The cost for the installation was only $160. The carpeting is beautiful and feels luxurious, was installed quickly and well, and the room and closet have a whole new feel. ?I have seen no signs of any problems, and I love it even more now, a month later, than I did the day it was installed. And, of course, my parents decided not to come after all! :) ?But the carpet is a joy for me every day.

  • Charged nearly $3,000 above original estimate.  Stated it was because his measurements differed from ours.  While I agree that there may have been some variation in the estimates because we are not contractors and do not know how exact measurements are obtained, there is absolutely no way they were $3,000 worth off.  We purchased the flooring based on the exact same measurements and had four boxes of extra flooring.  I would have thought that if our measurements were so drastically different from his that we would not have had enough flooring rather than extra.  If there was going to be such a large difference in measurements, the professional thing to have done was to have told us that he needed to come measure for himself prior to installing the flooring which would have been fine......I took a day off work the first day he was to be here so I could let him in, give him a key and meet with him regarding some other work we want done.   He said he would be here around 9ish.  It was 1PM.  I could have worked a half day.  Another added expense.....

  • He was very personable and honest with everything that he was doing.  He always explained everything before he did things.  I was always on top of what was going on.  The work turned out excellent.  My interaction with them was great.

  • I contacted Larry Cowart who called me back right away. We set up a time for him to look at the new house we had just purchased. He measured, discussed what needed to be done regarding the floor moldings, as the house currently had a mixture of quarter round and shoe molding. Also, we discussed the fact that some of the wood flooring was newer than others and Larry assured us he would make it all match when we were done.  As soon as they could get in the house, working around other contractors, they began sanding the floors, we met them and picked out a stain, not from samples but from them actually staining sections of the floor side by side so we could compare. They completed the re-staining and put down three coats of polyurethane over a period of several days. I had heard others say that Cowart Flooring was the best in town and while I can't compare to others, I know they did an outstanding job for us. You cannot tell the older floor from the newer as you move from room to room. All of the team was very courteous and professional.

  • Bottom line up front, they did an excellent job. Theresa promptly returned my call, have me a "ball park estimate" over the phone and then had Jacob out measuring the same day. I had the estimate that evening! Being christmas, she told me they were very busy but they could get it done! They worked around my schedule, which was about a 2 day turnaround! Jacob said his guys would be at my house in the morning and they showed up on time, in appropriate attire, company shirts( as we have kids ) brought their own tools and cleaned up and hauled of the trash. Perna const. got the job done on time, under budget!

  • Mayfield Carpeting is the standard for best business
practices. Each of their employees proved courteous, knowledgeable, and
professional in every respect. New arrivals in the area, we went first to a
"big box" home improvement store (which actually subcontracts local
carpet sales, cleaning, and repair companies). While the store offered relatively
high quality products, availability and installation scheduling were
problematic, and ultimately, the value for the price was just not there. We
approached Mayfield's immediately before closing time in an effort simply to
get an idea of the company's selection: Joyce and Ferrol Mayfield insisted that we come in, and spent a significant amount
of time advising us about the advantages and disadvantages of various carpets. For
a similar price, Mayfield's offered an even more formidable carpet (tighter
weave, anti-microbial, pet odor and stain resistant, with a completely
impermeable padding [from top and bottom]) than the best available from the big
box store. Ferrol himself measured our house,
taking 35 minutes less than the big box?s specialist. On the appointed day, two
installers showed up on the minute, and the work was immediately underway. When
pet stains were found to have penetrated the wooden subfloor of one bedroom,
creating a number of active mold colonies, Mayfield?s techs immediately
informed me, scraped the wood, and applied a fast-drying paint-like mold
killer/sealer before laying the carpet. Once the installation was complete,
Mayfield?s techs swept and vacuumed thoroughly before departing. From start to
    finish, ?it went perfectly.?

  • Mr. Stanfield was polite on the phone, arrived when scheduled. He and his assistant did a beautiful job on the installation plus his price was less than others.Clean and neat as a pin when he left. It was a pleasure having him in our home.
