Hardscaping reviews in Pooler

  • Todd managed my lawn service from May 2014 through Feb 2018 -- the entire time I lived in my home there in Pooler, GA. He also installed sod, a flower bed, along with other hardscaping needs. I traveled quite a bit for my job and always felt comfortable knowing that Todd would be there when he said he would and my lawn would be clean. I've since sold the house and moved from the area. If I move back and need any type of lawn service, Todd will be the first person I call. I highly recommend him for your yard service needs. He's about as professional and honest person you'll ever meet.

  • Previously, we had Todd put in our bed to include roses and black-eyed Susan's.  We were so pleased with his work (and the compliments we received) that there was no question who we would ask to design and install the brick retaining wall around the same bed.  He came out and discussed with us what we had planned to do, provided his expert input, and designed the project.  His estimate of costs was fair and turned out to be accurate.  He arrived on the day promised and worked until dark (with an audience of admiring neighbors) and gave us great-looking retaining wall.  He got another job from my neighbor immediately!  This guy is a hard worker who does what he says he will do, and turns out a super result.

  • The roots from my front yard Oak tree pushed up and broke my 30' concrete sidewalk from the drive way to my front porch.

Southern Pavers installed a brick paver sidewalk in one day. Everything was done on time with no delays or excuses. The work was high quality, the price was fair, and the people were Professional. I will hire Southern Pavers for any future work I require.

  • The finished job looks fantastic. The workers were out in the heat from 8am-6pm for two straight days with few breaks. They remained professional and courteous throughout the whole project. Absolutely impressed with these guys doing the manual labor. Tim checked in at the start of the project, during and followed up at the end to make sure I was happy. Definately would recommend using this company.

  • Do Not Pay This Guy!! Hired this company to do a patio paver job. Justin came out to the house did the measurements we told him we wanted a paver patio with a retaining wall seating bench and to round short flower beds. Three sprinklers needed to be moved and a box with the automatic sprinkler valves needed to be moved so it wasn't under the patio. He ordered the materials, sent me the invoice and I paid that company directly. Once the pavers were delivered we set the date to start. He brought over another person prior to the start date that he contracted to do the patio because this person had more experience. The day the job started everyone showed up on time and at the end of day one the job was almost finished. I was concerned about any pressurized water pipes be under the patio Justin assured me there were no pipes under the patio and that he caped one sprinkler that was not needed, moved the other two and he did not move the box with the sprinkler valves that was staying under the patio. I stated I didn't want it like that because if there was leak later I would have to dig up the patio. He assured me it would be ok. I asked if everything was leak checked he said yes no leaks. Day two started the only thing left was the retaining wall and the flower beds he changed what he had told me about the wall placement and was now going to put the retaining wall on top of the patio which would have cost me square footage. I talked to the contractor and he put the wall where I wanted. Time for the flower beds and he had just ordered materials for two square pillar flower pots I told him we wanted round aprox. one and half feet tall so we had to reconfigure and put up two half moon flower beds and he charged me more for this.We had enough materials because He OVER Ordered Material by almost Two Pallets of pavers (that's a lot of money I could have saved). He offered to buy the extra pavers from me for a fraction of the cost I paid. How can someone over order by that much? I decided to keep them. After the job was done there was a lot of sand placed on top of the patio and he stated he would be back with some sod to fix around the edges and to put down more sand. I paid him the final agreed amount and a couple of days later he returned to put down the grass. When I spoke with him I stated there was a lot of broken pavers (he said the contractor would be back to swap out) and one sprinkler he moved need to be moved again because where he put it made no sense and it was watering my house not the grass plus the head needed to be changed. I said I would cover the cost. The sprinkler valves in the box under the patio now that he didn't move was leaking bad. He never leak checked the system now pavers needed to be pulled up but he didn't have time to do it then. No worries just promise me you'll take care of it, he said he would. Week and a half later he digs up the pipes and said its leaking he wanted to try and fix it by slapping some glue on it. I said I wanted it fixed properly there is no way you can put glue on the outside of a pressurized line. He said he would have to come back because he didn't have the parts. Ok. Another week goes by and when he showed up I was not at home. He called and I said I can't be there but please fix and replace the sprinkler head on the other side of the yard that he said he would. Couple of hours later he called me back up angry and said he didn't know who did my install (sprinkler system)but he couldn't fix it and he didn't cause the leak (I said I would pay) he stated he didn't have the time or the money to keep coming out to my house he had been to home depot a lot of times and couldn't get the parts and that I needed to get a irrigation person to fix it and then he would be back to install the pavers. The next day I dug everything up. All he did was try to pour glue on it to stop the leak(see the picture with all the yellow glue). I took pictures and went to home depot I purchased everything to fix the leaking pipe and the new sprinkler head for under $20. I moved the pipes out from under the patio like I wanted in the first place and changed the sprinkled head. I also found a pressurized pipe still running under the patio that he said I didn't have so I installed a shutoff valve just in case. I called him back and told him I wanted the person he contracted to come and put the pavers back down not him because of all the shortcuts he took. He stated he was not going to pay the other person to come back out and that he would put back down the pavers. It's been another week and a half and he still hasn't showed up so I had to resolve it myself. By the way the person he contracted to put down the pavers did a good job. When this person came out to replace the broken pavers i asked why there were so many stained really bad he told me that he let Justin know that the pavers that were delivered were old pavers that were left out to long sitting on a pallet and that they should not be installed. Justin told him to continue installing them. When i asked him if he knew the pavers were old he told me yes the contractor did mention it. I am currently working with the paving company to get new pavers. Last thing that was needed was fine sand to fill in the grooves. Just brought me one small bag of brown sand when white is suppose to be used and one bag is not enough. I'm now waiting to get the sand. Justin does not know how to do pavers, he knew pipes and sprinklers needed moving he knows nothing about irrigation and cuts to many corners when doing the job. Did I mention he over ordered material by almost two pallets! Landscaper and can't fix sprinkler pipes?

  • I started a fairly large patio project and got over my head. DGL came out and and quot;rescuedand quot; the project. They listen to what we had envisioned and then brought in a very talented and profession team that completed a great patio. Their attention to detail was excellent. I will definitely use them again when we start our other larger landscaping projects.

  • (09/15/2009) It is a beautiful patio. They were great to work with, and were the only company that returned my call when I reached out for an estimate. They completed the work quickly. The patio looks like the picture they showed, so there weren?t any surprises there. A crack has recently formed. They said they are going to send somebody out to look at it and get back to me. Their work was great, and I anticipate them responding quickly about the crack. UPDATE (05/05/2010) The patio was completed to my satisfaction initially, but developed a large crack down the center within a month and many smaller cracks around the perimeter. When I contacted them one person came out and inspected and I was told it should be redone, but that he had to have his supervisor inspect first. By this time the weather was getting unfavorable for concrete work so I waited until it warmed up to press the issue. Since then I have had one visit and several promises and so far no work. It was supposed to be completed while I was on vacation two weeks ago and now I'm facing a neighborhood association inspection in a week. I'd really like to give them a favorable report, but if they're not going to follow through with a satisfactory product I don't see how I can. Still hoping.....
