    I set up the appointment with YaFei on June 24 and they were able to come out on June 26 at 9 a.m.  I was off work that day, so that worked perfect.  However, I checked my email the night of June 25, and YaFei had emailed to see if the appointment could be changed to Saturday morning at 9 a.m.  I work full time and my schedule isn't very flexible.  I already had plans for Saturday morning.  I emailed him back that Saturday would not work for me and it would have to be Friday at 9 a.m. like we planned originally.   He got back to me and said he would have someone there on Friday at 9 a.m.  At 8:59 a.m. on Friday morning the handymen showed up.  Very punctual!  They came in and asked me where I wanted the TV's mounted.  I showed them.  They both worked on the living room one together and then one went upstairs to mount the upstairs TV and the other started to work on the deadbolt.  That didn't happen because I mistakenly thought the door was all wood, but it was metal on the outside.  He didn't have the correct tool to drill into a metal door.  When I made the appointment YaFei asked is the door was metal or wood.  I mistakenly said "wood".  I had no idea metal was on each side of the door.  I just bought the house recently.  So, instead, they were able to do another chore, which was put the window a/c in a sunroom window.  The window was painted shut (by previous owner) and they we able to get the window open and install the a/c.  They worked quickly and were done by 10 a.m.  I was told by one handyman that my front door would have to be taken down and taken to the shop to cut the hole for the deadbolt.  But I looked at youtube videos and there is a special drill bit that works without having to remove the door.  I had a neighbor drill the hole and install the deadbolt a few days later.  But all in all, I was happy they came the day they said they would and were here right on time.  They were friendly and professional and worked quickly.  The deal I purchased from Angie's List was just $69 and Angie's gave me a $5 discount, so it was only $64.  It was totally worth it!  I would use them again, because of their everyday reasonable hourly wage and because of the good work they did when they were here.

    I got a better deal with this one for $69. It was the same two hours of handyman services. They guys came two days later after I had purchased the big deal. They managed to come on a Friday morning because I was off work. At first I received an email asking if they could come on Saturday and I said no so they managed to come on Friday. Two guys showed up and they were right on time. They put up both my TVs and they put in the window air conditioners. The stuff they did was good and prompt. They finished everything within an hour. They were even a minute early. They were supposed to be here by 09:00. I saw them on my driveway a couple of minutes before 09:00. I would use them again. I even sent them an email and they said they would give me a discount if I use them again.

    It went fine as always.  I own an apartment community and they do all our work.  Very reasonable fees for their services.  I have been using them for 7 years and I won't use anyone else.  Other HVAC companies I have used are notoriously unreliable.  Comfort Air, Al and his crew are all great, I couldn't be happier with them and feel lucky to have found them.

    The experience was horrible.  They took the filter out of the air conditioning unit.  They left the dirty and ripped out filter where they took it from.  They didn't even cover the area.  So, whatever air sucking in is being sucked into the attic and not being filtered.

    Emperor Cooling & Heating Inc.
    Emperor was recommended by a friend.  My heat pump failed within the end-of-life range.  The field engineer troubleshot and determined it was probably a leak in either the pump or coil, and provided recommendations for me to choose from.  (His conclusions matched that of another service provider). I chose a replacement of both units, and went with Emperor due to price, knowledge of the technician, his ability to educate me as the homeowner, and price was less than my prior quote.  They were able to bring a new unit quickly and installed without issus, cleaned up job site, and tested the unit.
    About 36 hours after installation the heat pump failed. It was a Saturday night.  I called Sunday morning and a tech come out and determined the  unit was defective from the manufacturer.  They agreed to replace the unit and did so the next day.  Installation went fine. 
    While I was quite unhappy that I had a problem with 2 days of installation, they responded with an emergency weekend call and replaced the  unit without a headache to me. They also worked around my work schedule so I did not have to take time off.  The service recovery was good.  Very good people, both on the phone and on site.
    I had to give a Quality rating of B due to the failed unit.  I recognize that the installing company cannot know the quality of the unit in the box, but as a consumer that isn't a distinction I should have to make.  Price was attractive, fair, and well documented,  a B since it didn't blow me away.  Thus an overall B.  Without the failed unit this would have been an overall A rating.  I will use Emperor again for service and would recommend them.

    He arrived ontime and evaluated the site for running water from one location to another.  The cost depended on what was found under the floor and the location of the supply to the tub.  i understood and accepted that those risks led to the quote being a range and not fixed price.  I appreciated that time was spent to explain the uncertainties and possible scope expansion required.  
    I decided not to pursue the work as the quote range was too expensive for just a new double vanity.

    American Energy Heating & Air
    American Energy Heating & Air installed a lower-cost furnace for me when 2 others told me I needed a high-efficiency furnace because of how it would have to be vented.  A fourth company also agreed they could get a lower efficiency furnace in, but their estimate was much higher.  I asked American Energy to be sure they had enough room to vent properly after the other companies told me there wasn't and they confirmed they could do it.  I did not want to go with a high efficiency furnace, because everyone said I would not actually see much increased efficiency unless I upgraded the insulation in the whole house, which I was not in a position to do at the same time as I replaced the furnace, which broke unexpectedly. 

    They were quick to respond and scheduled the work.  The installers were great - on time, answered questions, cleaned up, polite & cheerful, a pleasure to work with.

    I expect to use American Energy Heating & Air for all future heating & Air services.
