  • I contacted the service provider to find out the cost of an oil change, tire rotation, and headlight adjustment.  The gentleman who answered the telephone told me they were running a special that would include oil change, balance and rotate tires, flush the radiator, replace the wiper blades for $120.  I asked if they could adjust my headlights and he said yes, they would do that, too.  We agreed that I could bring it in when I left work, no appointment was necessary.  When I arrived, a different gentleman met me at the car and I explained about the special I was there to have done.  He stated they had another special that included all of the same services except the radiator flush would be replaced with a fuel system cleaning, but the price would be approx. $5 more.  I told him to check the radiator and if it didn't need flushing, I would take this special instead.  I asked about the headlights and he asked me if I had been messing with them and why did they need to be adjusted.  I explained I had replaced the bulb in one of them and couldn't get it adjusted.  He pulled the car into the oil change bay and I went inside the waiting room.  He came back about 5 mins. later and told me the radiator/antifreeze was fine.  So, we agreed on the fuel cleaning special instead.  He explained that my car used a "barrel type" oil filter and it would be $5 extra.  He explained that the fuel cleaning was supposed to take 25 minutes but they usually liked to do it for 30 mins.  He said I should go get something to eat or go to the QT and they would pull my car around the front of the building when they were done.  I walked to the QT directly in front of this business and got a drink.  I was gone approx. 5 mins.   When I left the business, my car was parked in the oil change bay.  When I walked back from the QT, my car was still in the oil change bay.  A few minutes later, someone had pulled it to the opposite corner of the building outside the bay; the hood was up, but I saw no one performing work.  Periodically, I would get up to check the progress.  I never saw anyone performing services on the car.  My car was never driven into the bay after it left the oil change bay.  It was never raised on a rack.  I never heard an air wrench or saw anyone remove a tire or adjust the headlights.  Approx. 1 hour after I arrived, another gentleman came into the waiting room and told me my car was ready and someone had pulled it to the front of the building.  I asked the gentleman if the tires had been balanced and rotated before I paid and he said, "yes, ma'am."  I remembered as I was driving home that the driver's side rear tire had a slow leak and I had lost the valve stem cap some time ago.  When I got out of my car, I looked at the back driver's side tire.  The valve stem cap was missing.  I checked the air in that tire and it was low.  The tires had never been touched, so I had to wonder if any of the other work had been done either.  I contacted the manager the next morning to explain to him what I thought had happened.  He was almost instantly defensive.  I told him I thought they had not performed the services I paid them for and he told he knew his crew and they would never do that because they knew he would fire them on the spot and they were "fine Christian boys".  I told him, "but they did do that".  He told me no, they had been working 6 days a week in the heat and the tire rotation/balance had just been "overlooked".  I told him again that I had asked before I left if they had done that and was told "yes, ma'am". So, if they had lied to me about that, how did I know they had done anything?  He told me I was welcome to come sit up there and watch the video tape.  I explained to him that I work for a living and he said "we all do".  I do know they replaced my wiper blades and my oil is clean.  I don't know if they performed the fuel system cleaning or changed the oil filter.  I know they didn't rotate or balance my tires or adjust my headlights.  I have written an email to the corporate office explaining this situation.  But, I will never do business here again.

  • They did a very good job.  Communication was very reliable.  I took the car in on Tuesday and picked it up on Thursday.  The bid they gave me came in higher, they had to replace a belt.  It was no problem though, again, very good on communication.  I will use them again.

  • Brought the vehicle in to have work done on the lower bushings, alignment, and oil change. Car made a lot of noise when riding on rougher roads. After the service, it was quiet and with the alignment fixed, the wear on the tires was no longer uneven. Their prices are a little high for my taste, but they do a good job so I can't complain. Since many others at my job use Russel's and are satisfied with their work, I will continue to come back when I need service on my vehicles. They called any time something unusual came up that would require different work and/or different pricing. They do a great job of explaining what needs to be done, how much it'll cost, and how the repairs will affect the car. The toughest thing for most people when looking for a mechanic is finding someone you can trust. So far, I trust them due to my own experience as well as my co-workers.

  • After hitting a deer, my insurance company set me up with Bellamy Strickland. They needed to fix all the items mentioned above. I brought the car in on a Wednesday afternoon and it was done on Friday of the following week. Upon getting the car back, I realized that not all the work was completed. It turned out to be a communication error between my insurance company and Bellamy. I brought the car back on that Tuesday, and it was finished the following Monday. Total time of repairs was 11 business days. I don't blame them for needing to bring the car in twice since it was mostly on the insurance company.

    Since the insurance paid for all the repairs minus my deductible and they recommended the place, I did not shop around for the best price. Being that this was the first body work ever needed on my vehicle, I don't know if the price was reasonable or not. Also, my rental car for the time of the repairs was covered, so again, no inconvenience to me financially.

    My only slight issue was in communication. I noted on the sheet I had to fill out when I got there that I wanted to be called with any changes or progress in the repairs. The first time it was in, I heard nothing for about a week and when I called the guy claimed that he had called me a couple times and left messages. I never had any missed calls or voice mails. After that though, the communication improved, but I still wasn't getting calls on every bit of progress, but still was being updated on deadlines.

    Everything else was great. They dealt with the insurance company, got the work done, and I got my car back looking like new all cleaned and polished as well. I was very satisfied with the work done. If I have another issue and the insurance company was covering it, I'd certainly use them again. If I have to pay for it myself, I might shop around just to compare prices.

  • They were great. I was in and out in 10 minutes. I asked them to check my battery and they told me that I didn't need one. A lot of places would have tried to sell me stuff because I'm a female, but they said that I didn't need. I've got neighbors that have used them too and they've done little things for them without charging. The one reason that I went to them was because I had had neighbors recommend them. Their price was pretty much average or what most of those oil change places charge. I didn't have an appointment, but I was able to walk in and I was in and out within 10 minutes. I will use them again in the future.

  • I had a bad rock chip in my windshield and called to get an estimate on repairing it based off reviews I read on Angie's List.  The customer service rep was quite helpful and answered all my questions.  I scheduled an appointment for the mobile service on the following Monday. The window for service was from 8-10 on Monday morning.  The tech called because he was unable to reach me by the 10 am deadline, he said he could make it before noon.  He showed up by 11:15 am and had the repair finished by noon.  He was quite courteous and left my car spotless on the inside. Overall, a good experience, even if they were late!

  • In the past this shop had replaced an AC compressor in my daughter's S10 pickup at a very reasonable rate and very good job. I returned with the 2003 Tribute (155K) that was misfiring for awhile and check engine light on for 2 days. They called back and said all the computer indicated was a sensor that they replaced for $89. When I picked it up they went into a detailed discussion on where I buy my gas and to watch out for poor quality fuel. The check engine light was out.

    Within a day the misfiringwas as bad as ever and check engine light was back. A friend tried a device called CarMD, a handheld code reading device that plugs under the dash and available on the internet. CarMD indicated a problem with the ignition coil at cylinder no. 4. I picked one upfor $75 the next day and had it installed in 15 min. The car has run flawlessly every since.

    My opinion is that D&D was either trying to milk out more work or are totally incompetent.

  • ALL INVOLVED WERE GREAT. THEY DID THE WORK ON TIME AS PROMISED AND KEPT ME INFORMED ON THE PROGRESS. INSPECTED THE BACK BRAKES AND FOUND THAT THE SHOES WERE BROKEN APART AND NOT WORKING. GREAT SERVICE AND EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION.
