    Custom Dream Pools Inc.
This project started Mid May 2017 with no Final Inspection to date. Original promise was to complete by July 4. Weather did play role in legitimate delays. Many good working days were no-shows or very late starts. This contractor has other businesses that distract from completing your pool project. He is dependent on renting or borrowing equipment and dependent on many sub contractors to do the work when they are available. His "commercial" pool building background works against custom residential designs, installations and attention to detail. Spa spillway is too high (water should sit at the midpoint of the tile). Spa jets are not positioned properly. Skimmer is not in a good position to pull surface water across the width of the pool. Pressure cleaner outlet is badly positioned to avoid having the cleaner hang up in the stairwell. Beware of his selection of "Bull" brand outdoor kitchen equipment. Within weeks the stainless steel began to rust. Avoid the commercial specification to use two 2 pumps for a spa/pool combo. We're still working through problems related to the equipment installation (BTW - all equipment was splashed with concrete and never cleaned). The spa pump does not run very often (bad for pumps) unless it's during freeze protection. The spa pump does not circulate through the filter or sanitizer. Caulk and grout either fill or overfill inconsistent and sometimes very large gaps. Within two months the travertine stone deck is cracked. We are taking care of the remaining leftovers and shortcomings by Custom Dream Pools. This includes needing a larger natural gas line/meter to provide enough volume for the heater (huge miss by CDP and the Plumber they use). This contractor would not establish written records to document upgrades and changes. No replies or returns since before Thanksgiving. We paid off the pool project due to disgust and not wanting this contractor on site any longer. He can be an interesting nice guy with charm, but do not hire for those characteristics. There are too many other competent, capable and responsible pool builders to choose from. I suggest getting input from neighbors, friends and reading forums to detail your specifications and expectations when selecting a builder. There is a reason why this builder does not show up in web searches like Houzz and Home Advisor. Choose a builder that has a lot of visibility and reviews. Choose a builder that has owned a pool to know the ownership experience. This one does not know what it's like to wake up to an operating pool every day. We typically are not negative reviewers. This experience was bad enough to make the effort to warn others about what can happen with this contractor. Final advice - keep cameras on your project and property to protect your interests.

    Atlas Pools
We were very pleased with the overall process from start to finish. John came up with some wonderful designs, especially considering the topography of our lot. The construction supervisor was very attentive to key details and was on site for the key contractor work. The landscape contractor that was recommended by Atlas--Mike--was extremely creative with solving our drainage issues on our lot and did some real nice drain basins in our pool deck. Mike also was helpful picking out the retaining wall and designing our fire pit and choosing our landscaping. Service and support post build by Curtis and Mark have been top notch. We have received numerous compliments from our neighbors and friends Mark--you have a great product and team.  Thank you so much.

    Home Pools & Hot Tubs
Provider was honest and up front with us.  Gave us an estimate of $1300 to repair the spa, but also gave us the name of a provider that would haul off the spa if we were not interested in repairing it.  The provider did the research that showed how old this spa actually was (7 years older than the house) and what we could expect in the way of future repairs.  Based on this information, we chose not to repair the spa.

I could not get my water right this year, due to me taking it and having them analyze this. I did everything the sheet of paper told me to do. I would take my water back to be analyzed. and be given the same instructions and I followed them to a tee. I spent more money on chemicals that I feel I didn't need. I have had my pool for 15 years and this was my first year having a problem with my water.

    BROWN'S POOLS & SPAS

David Brown assured us they would be out Monday May 4 to fix the problem. As of 4:45 no one came nor called. When we called he stated they forgot about us. They came out today. They used my hose and didn't  put it back, left the nozzle off it. Put my skimmer net on the ground by the back gate as they used my pole. Left it. Now I don't mind them using my things but put them up like you find them. Just like I teach my 3 and 4 year olds.  I feel like they didn't want to come out and fix my pool and finish the job. We hired him on his word sitting at our kitchen table. He assured me that what I had read on line about his company was simple not true. He showed me all the fancy pools he has done including his mothers. Which to me is nothing but pictures. Work ethic and good job speak louder than any pictures. But I have two words for David Brown, Lesson learned.

Scheduling was fine and the price was good with them. Sometimes I also purchase my pool chemicals from them. If you have a problem they are helpful. An example of this is they let me know I could buy a lemon as my pool was lined with pine-worms and it had stained the liner and rubbing the lemon on it has helped the staining and avoided $300 worth of chemicals.

    US Pools Unlimited

We hired this company to complete a pool opening at the property listed in the subject line. Mark sent over a quote of $1350 to completely open the pool at this property. On the quote it states he needed $1024.50 up front to purchase materials. He picked up this check on 5/2/14 from my office. He called us from the property stating that he would need $300-$500 more to pump out the pool. We tried to ask him why this was not included in his original quote as this is something that would need to be completed to open a pool up for the season. He then got very irritated with us and hung up. We tried the next day to calmly speak with him, he still hung up on us. On the third day he was in a better mood and spoke with my employee stating he would complete the work(with the exception of draining the pool) but we needed to be there with a check for the remaining $325.50. At first we told him we would could not be at the property to supply the check, that he would need to come to the office to pick the check up as he did originally. This was not the way he wanted things done, so he hung up again. Shannon called him back and left him a message that we would have someone at the property to supply the check. I finally spoke with Mark again today, and he was very rude when I asked to speak with someone else in the company and hung up on me once again. I am simply trying to request copies of the receipts for our records at this point. This is a very untrustworthy company and they will take your money.

    Marietta Pool Pro
I bought a short sale property that had been empty for over a year. The pool was sound, but the cover had rotted and the leaves from nearby trees had left quite a disaster. It was a smelly foul swamp.  Sean was very knowledgable and gave me an estimate up front. He's very generous with advice as well. The worst I can say about him is that he's very busy. Its worth the wait though. He got my nasty mess of a pool up and running in 4 hour long sessions over about 2 weeks. He's efficient, knows his stuff, and is willing to give you advice and explain how best to maintain your pool. I've since called him for advice several times and been cheerfully given the info to fix the issue. I HIGHLY recommend Marietta Pool Pro for ALL your pool related issues.

AquaRama Pools Spas and Service Inc
They are outstanding. They are incredible. I've used them consistently for 16-18 years. It is $60 a week for the service. The opening and closing are each less than $500. They are really responsive. If I need something done yesterday, I am not going to jump in front of the 49 people in front of me that have been with them for a long time and I appreciate that.
