They did a good job of explaining what they were going to do, and where, and took pictures of the attic so I could see the work that had been done.  The installers showed up on time and were very professional. They put drop cloths down everwhere they would be working and walking, and cleaned up with a vacuum when they were finished.  They also took care of all the paperwork needed to obtain energy rebates from Georgia Power which will give me $700 back.

    Aladdin Insulation & Home Improvement

The crew that came to perform the work showed up promptly and got to work. They went over the area to be treated, the price agreed upon, and explained the warranty and service guarantees. They were unobtrusive and cleaned up everything once they completed the work. They did everything the rep had told me would be done and I was very pleased with Aladdin. I won't hesitate to recommend them.

Installed the hvac system as the builder's contractor. The problem seems to stem from the fact that  both the house plan and the system in question were a first in this neighborhood, as subsequent homes were zoned differently to correct the zoning issues that we have in our home. The system fails to cool the upstairs unless the fan is set at such a high speed it becomes intolerable in the kitchen. Visitors to our home constantly are questioning what they are hearing when the system comes on in the kitchen.
They ran a test to check for air leakage which of course came back "within the level of tolerance". Unfortunately my concern is not with the amount of leakage from the house but with the fact that the system is zoned incorrectly to cool the upstairs without sounding like a heavy rain just started in the kitchen. At our expense we had a third party come in and check the system, noting several areas that needed to be corrected and how to proceed. They have refused to fix the problem based on the air leakage test leaving us with a year old house that needs approximately $2000 to correct an improperly installed hvac. Vis Visa obviously is aware of the zoning issues in our home as they made adjustments to homes built after ours.

After I purchased the Big Deal, I call the company to schedule the installation.  An appointment was scheduled for April 17th at 3pm.  A gentleman arrived to "give me a quote".  This came as a surprise to me because I did not ask for a quote nor did I want a quote.  I simply wanted the Big Deal that I ordered.  After 1 hour I was provided a quote to raise my installation from a R30 (which is compliant) to a R60.  The cost of this would be $1907 from which they would deduct the Big Deal I purchased.  When I asked when they would install what I had already purchased, I was told they would do it when I purchased the rest of the installation.  When the salesman left I called the company twice and left a message on Tracy's voicemail.  A Crystal returned my call.  As if she was in a rush she explained that there was some mis-communication.  It was standard operating procedure to provide a quote before any work was done.  I explained that this was not shared with me and asked what that means for me.  Crystal informed me that I could ask Angie's list for a refund no questions asked.  I again asked her what does this mean for me.  Were they not going to honor the Big Deal.  Crystal begins to laugh at me.  I asked her if she was laughing at me and she responds I just don't understand what the problem is.  When I became upset because she was laughing at me she began to record the call and then began denying that she was laughing at me.  I continued to explain that there has been a lack of communication on behalf of the company.  When I finish talking she did not respond.  She remained silent for about 30 seconds.  When I said hello, she responded yes.  I asked if silence was standard when talking to a customer.  She stated no.  Then said she would have the owner of the company contact me.
I would like to note that it is illegal for a business to record a phone call with a customer without first notifying the customer either through a recording or during the conversation.
I would not recommend this vendor.  The Big Deal they offer is a bait and switch.
Please note that I have also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Reliable Heating & Air Plumbing & Electrical
    Everything went very, very well.

Estimate & Quotes:  Reliable HVAC provided informed and specific technical guidance during the estimation process, and were very willing and responsive in adjusting their quotes to our specific situation and needs.  Their estimator, Kyle Rice, understood our requirements and was technically proficient in Mini-Split systems, which is not a common thing.  He was patient and diligent in working through the quotes, given the unique circumstances. He was able to coordinate the system purchase, system install and the additional electrical work without the "per task" menu pricing that seems to be the common practice in residential work.  This was handled much more like a business transaction between two informed parties; and we appreciated that.

Electrical:  The electrical team arrived on schedule (after calling 30 minutes prior) and proceeded to install the subpanel, wiring and 230 outlet for the system.  Both Terry and Jeremy were extremely professional and efficient.  Great work, excellent clean-up and very impressive technical and communication skills; Reliable Electrical is a solid operation.

HVAC: Mike and Mike arrived about 30 minutes after the electricians, right on schedule.  Very well educated on the Mini-Split system, and were able to confirm installation location, indoor-to-outdoor unit combination, drainage, and other specifics.  Were able to confirm that the system would perform exactly as we envisioned.  Installation took about 2.5 hours including drilling through brick exterior and situating outdoor compressor on concrete pad.  They fully tested and vetted the unit, insured proper condensation drainage (these units are 20+ SEER) and ran the system exactly as specified by Mitsubishi.  I received all the materials that came with the unit, minus the packing boxes which they removed.  They sealed the hose & power portal / replaced the insulation / cleaned up / rechecked the drainage and left, with me as a happy camper.  The system took an 1800 sq.ft. from 80 degrees / 88% humidity to 70 degrees / 55% in no time.  The inverter technology is incredible. Great service.

    Ventilator King

Ken has done work for me in the past and it's always been promptly and efficiently done.  This most recent job was handled in the same way.  He took special care when running the insulation hose to the attic so that no damage was done to floor or walls.  Before spraying insulation, he removed several excess feet of ductwork from a/c / heating system and straightened remaining ductwork to remove kinks and allow for smooth air flow.  He also provided a attic step cover to help further insulate the attic and keep the heat from leaking through from the attic steps.

The work was done quickly and efficiently and we are already noticing how much cooler the house is and also how much less the A/C units are running.

When the need arises, I will definitely use Ventilator King / Insulation King again.

    Ventilator King
Ken and Sean arrived on time, covered all work surfaces, inspected the attic and provided feedback on what was needed, and a price quote for the work required and insulation cost. Our existing fan was on the same switch as the light and they installed a separate switch for the fan. We also had a portion of the attic blocked off by the builder. They opened the wall so that insulation could be blown in and the air could circulate. Ken took "before and after" photos that we reviewed before I made payment and I also viewed the work as well. They were in and out in about 4 hours. I would definitely recommend this company. They went well above my expectations. They were very professional and courteous. A pleasure to do business with!
