    1st Choice Dental Care Kennesaw
The very first thing you should understand about this back alley used car dealership of dentistry is that they are all about the money; patients are simply a means to an end for them. My first warning was when I scheduled an appointment with one of the dentists for a few days out, only to have them call me almost immediately with the offer to come in right away. They said that they didn't want to leave me suffering, and in my naivety I believed them, but later events would change this opinion dramatically. I initially just wanted a bad tooth pulled after years of unsuccessfully trying to repair it, but almost at once they began with high-pressure sales talk in an attempt to get me to instead go with alternative (read: much more expensive) treatment options, even using language like "there has never been a better time to do this than right now" and "you will not find prices lower than ours anywhere" -- things I would expect to hear on a sleazy used car lot, not in a dentist office. Much to my eternal regret, I permitted them to persuade me and walked out of there with an invoice for $4706 worth of work to be performed over the next couple of weeks. This was paid for via a quick line of credit from CareCredit for $4800, which is where the fun began. Unbeknownst to me, the manager behind the counter maxed out my line of $4800 for no reason and without any warning, rather than simply charging the $4706 agreed upon. This is something I did not discover until doing my finances much later, and upon confronting them, I got three different stammered excuses from three different people (two of the excuses being directly contradictory to each other), but this was dropped entirely when new information came to light during the course of the exchanges. 1st Choice has an in-house savings plan for people without insurance, allowing them to pay an annual fee and in return save money on work done with them in the future. This /only/ applies to people paying cash out-of-pocket, and obviously someone coming in with a pain emergency and no insurance would be a textbook case of the sort of patient you offer this to, right? Not these champions of integrity. Despite speaking with an assistant, the dentist herself, and the manager in charge of accounts, not one of their employees ever once told me about the existence of this plan. They slapped on their saccharine smiles and let me pay out over $5400 in cash to them before it was finally brought up, once the expensive work was safely paid for and they were trying to get me to use them for regular cleanings. Needless to say, I was incensed that they intentionally let me pay full price for such expensive work and only tried to save me money when pitching cheap add-on services. Their defense? "Oh, we thought you were okay paying full price since you said you were paying in cash." That's right, someone in pain and having to pay thousands for emergency work somehow did not strike them as being a suitable candidate for their savings plan, yet it made much more sense for them to later sell me this $200 plan to save money on a $60 cleaning. That I was the POSTER CHILD of the sort of person the plan should exist to help out conveniently slipped their mind. When I became irate over this deception, they offered to apply it to my past work retroactively in the form of a credit with their group. Fine. Disgusting, but no lasting harm done. It was only weeks later that I found out they only applied this to the very last and relatively cheap portion of the work done and flat-out refused to apply it to the very expensive initial stages for obvious reasons. After numerous occasions of being quoted one price, only to have them wait until I was in the chair and ready for work before applying more of the heavy sales tactics and surprise price increases, this final nonsense with their money-grubbing tactics was the last straw for me. For too long, I convinced myself that I was simply misunderstanding them but eventually even my forgiving nature could no longer look the other way when there were so many terrible things being done in plain sight. There is nothing that can be done to undo the money wasted or pain I endured (ironically, I'm actually in more pain now than I was before I even met these people), but it is my fervant hope that this review can save even one person out there from the mistake of trusting these predatory vultures. You have many, many options in the area, so please learn from my mistake and take the time to read reviews and do some educated shopping around before making your choice. There's a reason why this practice actually offers you rewards for positive reviews, when it should be their work alone speaking for them.

    Kimmerling, Dr Kirk

I recently moved to Georgia from Florida and needed to find a dentist who is located close to my home. Not having a close network of friends or coworkers, I relied on Angie's List and found Dr. Kimmerling's office.  It was 2 miles from my house. Before I made an appt. I drove by the office to see how it appeared.  I was very impressed.  It is very big and modern. All of their equipment is top notch.  They have three front desk assistant's to assist patients. Right then I spoke with one young lady and set an appt. for the next week.  I received full x-rays, a cleaning by the hygienist and met with the dentist. He went over my x-rays and cleaning and gave a personal check of my mouth. He said everything was perfect and they would like to see me again in six months.  I felt very comfortable with everyone in the office and I'm glad I found them.

    Dr Craig Hart DDS
It was fine. It was a tooth that was back in my mouth further we didn't have a lot of money then so I just had him leave it and it healed. I probably just rinsed with salt water or something like that nothing fancy.  I broke my tooth on the weekend and he couldn't do anything about it until Monday so I was hurting quite a lot but I don't know if anybody could have done any better.

    Douglas J Deuchar DMD
He and his staff are very thorough, pleasant, and as flexible as they can be. They can get you in quickly, if you need to get in quickly. They are hard to get in to for standing appointments. We have been with them for 12 years now, and they are a good office.

Everything is excellent. Nothing to dislike.

Why exactly is he excellent then?
Just bedside manner, taking really good care of your teeth, giving good advice on what you should do. My husband had to get an implant done. He referred us to excellent endodontist. Things like that.
You don't have to wait forever in his office. He is very punctual.
We've used him for about 10 years now.

    Patel, Dr. Sanjay
Dr. Sanjay Patel was excellent. It was a wonderful atmosphere. It was a pain-free dentistry. It was just a very very nice experience for going to the dentist. I would definitely recommend him. He has the state-of-the-art equipment there. Not only was it pain-free and pleasant, it was educating as well because I got to watch the crown being made.

I did five other estimates before I decided on this practice.  This guy was $2000 higher than anybody else for just crowns.  The implants were already there.  But he promised me temporaries and I wanted at least the temporaries if they couldn't get the crowns in on time before we had we had out of town guests in for Thanksgiving.  There was a screw up on the say of the appointment when he was supposed to do the impressions and he called and said parts had not arrived, don't come in.  Then later on the phone he told the receptionist to tell me to come in.  So I went in but I didn't get any temporaries.  I didn't complained about it at the time because he said he would say he would have the crowns back before Thanksgiving.  That would be within two weeks.  I called back at the end of two weeks and they acted like they didn't know who I was.  They finally figures it out and said well it will be after Thanksgiving.  He still charged me the $4000 even though I couldn't have gotten this work done for half from everybody else that I had estimates from.  So then he lied about it, he said he never promised me temporaries and that was a flat out lie.  And the crown that he put in was really fat, but he cemented it onto the implant and then he said how does that feel to you?  I said it really feels fat. He is supposed to be really professional about doing cosmetic dentistry.  He says well I have to take it off and replace the crown and we can re-do it.  I didn't want any more of this guy.  I would give him an "F" for lying, for being over priced, for just below average service.  I know there are crackpots in that profession.  One dentist cost me a tooth, I had to have an implant, you know there are just a bunch of crackpots in that profession.  It's a beautiful office, well appointed.  All the help and everything was very professional.  I was willing to pay more to make sure I got good service.  I got below average service and a lie.  Which really p***** me off.

My experience has gone very well. My whole family and I have been seeing her for about 10 years now. She is very compassionate and caring, as well as her staff. She is very professional and highly knowledgeable in her field. The office is clean and welcoming and I would highly recommend her to others.
