    Patriot Tree Service
Came to give me an estimate. I told Tim what I wanted and he gave me a price. He wrote out a formal offer. A couple of days later, I called and told him he had the job. (I had four estimates from professional tree services.) Tim and a helper came on a Friday and trimmed both trees. Returned on Monday to cut trunks and to "chip" limbs (I wanted to keep the chipped product to use myself). Left the effected area very clean. I will definitely call Patriot Tree Service for any work I need in the future.

    Todd's Tree Service
He’s excellent. We’ve used other people and they haven’t been as good. So, we stick with Todd. Sometimes my husband has paid him more because he doesn’t think he’s charged enough. He’s very responsive. Some people never called us back. He always does what he says he’s going to. He’s very professional. Very thorough. Always returns calls. Can’t say enough good things about him. He’s great.

    Appalachian Tree Works
Everything we discussed was done professionally.  Chris was very helpful and reassuring about the stability of some trees near our home.  His staff was amazing.  I would definitely call Appalachian Tree Works again.

    David's Tree Service
My overall experience with him was excellent. What I liked about him is that it was freezing, it was snowing and he was out there working and that he came by that day. His price was good and he was great for what he did and everything was covered for his insurance, which was big for us. He took no time; he was in and out.

    Postell Tree Service
They were absolutely awesome. Limbs near the house were hand lowered from a bucket truck. They worked nearly nonstop with short breaks. They had our cares and concerns in hand at all times. They were friendly and by day 3 were nearly family. I will use the again if I ever need tree work again.

Grassroots Tree & Turf Care Inc
Our initial impressions were very good.  We had purchased a home with a lawn and landscape that was neglected by the prior owner.  We hired Grass Roots to help get the lawn under control, which started in the spring of this year.  Overall I would say they did a fair job.  The lawn is significantly improved, and while we still have a crab grass issue I would have continued with them based on results so far (and just how poor the starting point was).
We had also found out they did landscape work and had hired them to pull old shrubs, cut beds, resod one section, etc.  Their work here was excellent both in price and product.
Based on the above we had engaged them to do a renovation of our backyard.  This was just weeds and we wanted to have it killed off and reseeded.  This is where things went downhill.  I had a conversation with them on timing and noted we were having a backyard fence installed, and once we had the fence installed we would then engage them.  No problem.  However, during the August treatment when our service tech left the invoices on the door we had an extra one that noted he had sprayed Roundup.  I did not think anything of it at the time as we did not see where he did it (and my wife was mowing the backyard at the time he was doing the treatment).  The next week I received a call indicating they were ready to do the reseeding.  I then noted my prior conversation as well as asked when they were planning to kill off the yard.  Imagine my surprise to hear that was already done!  I looked at the backyard and it was full of healthy green weeds.  I noted this and was told they certainly had sprayed.  I then talked to my wife who took me to the end of our house where I saw the grass was dead and dying...clearly as the result of roundup.
On 9/5, I called back and noted it looks like the tech made a mistake and sprayed the wrong part of our yard.  They were very apologetic.  I was told that a manager (Bobby) would call me back.  I later received a call that same afternoon and noted that Bobby would actually just stop by the following day.  No problem.  Well, the next day I stayed home to meet with him, but he never showed.  I did see the tech in the neighborhood (I live on a cul de sac street in an acreage development and my home office window looks out to the front).  I watched him stop at my neighbor's house, and then actually drive back up the street, back all the way down the street, and leave.  Late in the day I called the office and asked when Bobby was coming, only to then be told that Bobby actually was not coming, but sent the tech to check out my yard.  I was then told that the tech actually indicated the dying grass was the result of "mower damage", not spraying.  At that point I really lost my temper and demanded to speak with Bobby or a one was available.  I reminded them their own invoice shows they sprayed Roundup, and we were there and know the tech did not spray the back.  After a frustrating conversation I told them I wanted to immediately cancel my service as it was clear I could not trust the tech.
A week later I received a very nice card from Josh, the owner.  Basically looks handwritten, but probably a font.  It had his cell and asked that I call him.  I received it on the weekend and called Josh on 9/16 and left him a voicemail explaining the situation and asking for a call back.  I also noted I have pictures I can send that document the dead side yard (which they claim is mower damage) contrasted to the beautifully mown front yard.  To no surprise I have not heard a thing.  No response.  Frankly he would have been better never sending me a card as this is a much bigger customer service fail.
I am still left with a side yard that was killed off by Grass Roots to deal with, but have engaged another service who will be doing the backyard renovation.  I understand from talking to several neighbors they too are frustrated with this tech and are not getting responsiveness from Grass Roots.
My advice is to avoid this company.
I now am signed up with TruGreen.  They are a bit more expensive, but from an ethics standpoint I can't go back to Grass Roots.

    Remodeling Pros
Keith and his crew took our plans , made great improvements and built a beautiful 20 x 20 2 story deck complete with pergola. The price quoted was reasonable, the work completed under estimated time. The amazing thing was that I the home owner was not on site during construction, yet the completed deck far surpassed my expectations. Keith and his crew are real Building pros.

    Bledsoe Tree Service
We already had two quotes to take down a dangerous tree, but decided to get a third when a friend recommended Beldsoe Tree Service. David Bledsoe came out  promptly to give us a quote. The main reason we chose him was that he made it clear that he was more concerned about a second tree, which the other services had not even mentioned! We really wanted out home to be safe, so we chose Bledsoe.
He did run into some problems, as the tree over our house required additional equipment for safe removal. The job ended up taking a lot longer than he and we thought it would, but that did not bother us. He charged us only the quoted price, even though bringing in the bucket truck & crane surely cost him extra $$$. There was also a lot of rain, fog, etc that slowed him down.
These were tricky trees, as they both were hollow inside. One was huge! We felt very safe having Bledsoe Tree Service take them down. Oh, and there was no damage to our new metal roof, which had been a concern.
Get several quotes for tree work, but be sure to get a quote from David Bledsoe! We'll be using him when we need more tree work, and we recommend him to everyone.

I have many animals and was concerned about using chemicals on my lawn. I was assured by the salesman that they would take every precaution to stay away from the chicken pens etc. and that I would have the same rep each time who would know the limitations. I had the same rep only twice! Each time they came, I had to repeat the precautions. I had received a card in the mail saying they would be here the week of 8/21 to aerate and re-seed. When they did not show up, I called. A woman said there must be some mistake because it is way too early to reseed. A few days later the same woman called to set up a date that week and said "No, it's not too early." They came while I was gone. The work order states "front yard only" because I use the back as pasture. They went into the back and left the gate open. All four dogs were gone! After two hours of searching, I found them. I called and canceled my contract with them immediately.
