  • I stopped by Turner Tire to get a new set of tires on my truck yesterday. I walked in the office and no one was near the desk, so I waited patiently (I know how busy a shop can be) and all of the bays were full. I stood at the desk for about 4-5 minutes, and no one came over to assist me, so I walked back over to the separate waiting area. After a few more minutes standing there, a very polite younger guy came over to speak with me, he looked at my tires and we discussed type and price. He was very nice and helpful and offered to get my truck serviced as soon as a bay was empty. I told him I wouldn?t mind waiting.
    My truck was put in the bay, and the tires were put on. I stood at the waiting area across the parking lot and made a couple of phone calls. When I saw my truck was finished, I went to pay my bill. I settled up, went to get into my truck and saw that one of my hubcaps had been broken around the edge. I just stood there looking at it for a minute wondering what had happened, when the lady at the desk walked over and asked if everything was okay. I said "Well yeah, but it looks like my hubcap is broken, do you know if they had any trouble getting them off?" She looked back over her shoulder and asked a couple of the guys standing there, and they both shook their heads and responded ?No.?
    I was going to let it go at this, mentioned once again that it had not been broken earlier, and that I wasn?t sure what else might have happened. Then she sarcastically said "Well, yes - it is broken, but it sure didn't happen here." I then politely said that "I knew one of them was broken slightly, and I'm not trying to be rude - but I know my truck very well. This one was not broken earlier". Then she kind of went off. She scoffed and said "Well, what do you think? We broke it and swept it up and lied to you! It's just a cheap piece of plastic, they break all the time. We are an honest company!" I hadn't said anything like that, I was merely pointing it out and letting her know that it might have happened there, because I could not think of another recent instance where it could have happened, but since she was starting to seem a little rude, and had just insulted my "cheap" hubcaps I just pressed the issue that one had been broken, and the one in question had not. She asked if I had mentioned this to anyone, I said that sure, I might have mentioned it to the original guy that helped me. I knew that he had at least glanced at my tires. She responded, ?My son. Should I go ask my SON??
    At this point it had started to feel a little like a circus, so I said, ?The nice young guy that checked me in? Sure, maybe he noticed.? So she walked off to go speak to him and left me standing by my truck. When she came back, she said that he hadn?t noticed anything, and was looking at me like I was being ridiculous.I am a reasonable person. If she had just been kind to me, instead of becoming standoffish and looking at me like I was being foolish, I would have said "It's alright, I know you guys do good work, I?m not sure what happened, or where it happened." and left happily. Because I had always brought my vehicles to them in the past and never had any issues whatsoever. But I was fairly sure it hadn't been broken that morning, so I insisted based on her attitude.
    She eventually huffed and puffed and said "Well, I guess we will just do the right thing and offer to fix it although we didn't do anything wrong." She took my info, and while I was standing at the desk, I stated as politely as I could that. "I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be rude, or mean, or stir anything up. I have always brought all of my vehicles to you guys." At which point she raised her eyebrows, gave me a demeaning look, and said "Well, maybe you shouldn't". I have no problem with any of the guys there, and I am a truly reasonable person.However, I literally don't want to go back because of the belittling way I was spoken to by that lady. It?s wrong that I feel bad because it COULD have happened before I got there, neither I nor she could confirm it 100%. But you know, even if that was the case ? even if I had hit a pothole on my way there and it had broken that way, her reaction should have definitely been different. Also if it actually DID happen there, that is part of my right as a consumer to bring it to their attention. I left feeling like I had paid $500 to be antagonized and rudely insulted. I will no longer be a returning customer to Turner Tire, and I would recommend that anyone looking for tires should definitely go elsewhere, because your business and returning business, and also satisfaction with services provided are not considered valued or important at Turner Tire.

  • They have lied about everything. My Mother-In-Law has had to go by and fax the forms for them because they are incapable of doing it themselves. They even told my wife on the phone that if I didn't come pick up the car that they would have it impounded. I called their shop and talked to him in a calm manner and asked if they could fix it and they said they could. Then they called my Mother-In-Law and told her a completely different story. I will now be going with a more professional company. I want everyone to know this is a horrible company and I hope no one ever has to go through what I did with this company.

  • My overall experience with them was good. We have lived up here for about 12 years and we have bought about seven cars from them through the family, out of which five cars were bought by us. They are excellent. I would like to give them all "A's" across the board. They are real reasonable regarding price. I would say everything was great with them.

  • Very well . Quality job for fair price. I called got estimate, had car towed there that evening ,Mike checked it out the next morning and called me with results and price. This was Friday. The car was ready on Tuesday when promised. Car runs great. no problems at all as of yet almost 3 weeks later.

  • After they completed installing front tires they accused me of not having one of my front caps when I brought car in. After they starting looking for cap they went to back of my car and started taking off my auburn tire cover and messed it up looking for a cap which all jeeps have on spare tire....again trying to put blame on me....after that I lost my temper and ripped tire cover off doe to them already messing up ever putting it back on. Urging all this they found my cap which they had lost in their shop... After they found it turns son came to the back of my car and told me to calm down and get out of his shop. Then the dad took it up and verbally told me lets take this out on the street and he would kick my a**. Stuck his head inside my door twice to keep me from leaving. Finally after numurous threats and jesters of both son and dad to me I was able to get away. After all this I went about 1mile down the road and paid Roland tires to put me 2 front tires on and called sheriffs office to meet me and take back turners two tires to them....way to go Roland Tire and Pickens County Sheriffs office.. As far as Turner Tires go...being a customer of yours for the last 6 years I plan on telling everyone that will listen to me what a crap company you have. P.S. read another review left for turner tire from another customer on yahoo reveiws

  • Service as it should be!  My son's car broke down in Atlanta, so I joined Angie's List to find a truly reliable mechanic that would not rip us off.  J & L Auto Service had such good ratings that I was actually skeptical about the legitimacy of Angie's List.  I didn't think any car service could be good enough to warrant such high marks.  Now, I have changed my mind.
    We received a quick diagnosis of the problem, and the mechanics worked to repair it quickly. After the repair was finished, my husband and son went to pick it up. The owners of J & L decided to send it for a final test run before the car left to make sure it was doing okay.  The car started smoking on the drive, and they, apologetically, said that something else must also be wrong.  They kept the car,and, at this point, we were skeptical about the situation. (I thought they were about to do like so many auto centers which continually find problems to fix and then charge high fees for their services.)  I received a call later that same day saying the problem had been found and repaired.  The additional charge was less than $50, and it turns out the problem has been the root of many issues the car has been having for a long time.  J & L was the first of many automotive repair centers to find this defect!  
    From the beginning, the employees at J & L were courteous and helpful.  I felt that they worked rather quickly to diagnose the problem and to fix it, but I did feel the initial price was a little higher than I had expected.  (However, my family lives in a rural area, so I am use to all expenses being lower due to the lower overhead and taxes.  Compared to other auto services in Atlanta, I am sure that they are comparably priced.)  Ultimately, I feel the value of the services we received is exceptional, since future problems have probably been averted as a result of J&L's diligence.   
     The automobile has been running well ever since the work was done.  I am totally impressed with the staff at J & L, as well as their work ethic and honesty. so many of their other customers, my husband loved their friendly, welcoming dog.  :)

  • I received a coupon from Ford Motor Co for an oil change and free tire rotation. The price was on the coupon and so I made an appointment. I made sure before I left that I could use the coupon. The service manager said yes. When I went to pick it up my vehicle,  they refused to apply the coupon. They told me I had to mail in the rebate. It did not say anything on the coupon about mail in or redeem online. I stood there for 15 minutes waiting to see the General Manager. No body wanted to help and just kept telling that I would have to do it myself. After waiting for the GM, I was finally told they would accept the coupon. I guess the GM saw what was going on and told them to fix it. How many have they abused like this that do not have enough back bone to stand up for themselves. Very unprofessional!!

  • Fantastic experience! Had a transmission leaking fluid everywhere on a vehicle I had purchased off another (disreputable) mechanic, and Jeff could not have been more professional in his approach. He is responsive, communicative, professional, and charged me nowhere near what he could have charged me given the myriad problems that the transmission had. Jeff's father and grandfather were both lifetime mechanics, and Jeff has taken up the family trade. He also had a ~1967 Shelby Cobra in his shop (valued at $250K) that he was working on for a well-heeled customer, indicating that high-end customers trust him as well. In this world of shady mechanics, I feel I am lucky to have found Transmission Techniques. I have a Dodge Ram truck that also needs a transmission and I will be taking it here as well. Stop by and talk to Jeff and you will see a clean shop, and an intelligent and professional Transmission Specialist.

  • I don't go see him very much with my new car, but he is excellent. He needs to be recommended. One time I was out of the country and they really helped my wife out. She had some trouble and she called them up. They pushed stuff out of the way just so they could come to her help and they took really good care of her in a way that made you feel real good about their care and service. Their customer service is just beyond. They treat you the way that you really wish people would. It was way above and beyond our expectation. I have never had a problem with their punctuality.
