  • I have used this practice for several years as my general practitioner. I just can't say enough about the total professionalism of the doctors and the office staff. They can pretty much take care of all my tests at the office. If a referral is needed, they are johnny on the spot helping find an appropriate physician. I have referred several friends to this office and they have all been pleased.

  • Dr Moore listened to my issues and investigated my lack of energy including doing blood work. She asked many questions to flush out any non-physical aspects to my lack of energy. We determined there were many factors and she made suggestions to increase my energy levels. When the lab results came back, Tiffany (her nurse) called me to inform me of the issues found. Both Dr Moore and Tiffany are two of my best and quot;weaponsand quot; in dealing with my health. I am grateful to have them available to me. Oh, and Dr Moore bakes.... so she understands stress baking. Ha ha ha.

  • Dr. Gambrell will explore all options before suggesting the surgical route. I have heard comments “yeah, they just want to keep collecting the insurance money,” but I know this isn’t the case. For the time put into my care combined with what the insurance company reimburses for office visits, I am not viewed as a paycheck. When it came to the point surgery was the only other option, he referred me to Dr. J. Duncan. Within a few minutes, I had my surgical consultation with Dr. Duncan. I had asked how soon the surgery could be done, and his response was, “This week, if you want.” (It was Monday afternoon) A few minutes later I was with the surgical coordinator, Sandra Williams, having all the paperwork prepared, and was scheduled for surgery Wednesday morning. In less than 48 hours of deciding on surgery that wasn’t even an emergency, I was home recovering. Champion Orthopedics definitely has a well-educated, professional, team environment that is difficult to find in any medical practice.

  • I made the appointment and found the office ok. Arrived and filled out paperwork. I let them know up front I was self pay. My appointment time was 2:45: I finally got called back at about 3:15pm. The assistant went over the details I had provided and asked a few more questions and immediately wanted to do x-rays and was eager because they could do them in office. I again explained to her that if they were not necessary, I did not want them because I was self pay and didn't have insurance. She said that we could see if the doctor could diagnose without them. She seems bugged that I didn't want them. I also asked if we get a discount for self pay, like some hospitals and offices do around Augusta and why the price was so steep. She said we pay for the doctor's time so I asked if we get a discount for our time that was wasted waiting. She said no. At about 3:40 I stuck my head out and asked how much longer. Again, the assistant seemed bugged and said that I was asking and said the doctor was performing a procedure and would be right with me. She said this almost an hour ago.
At 3:47pm, fully one hour after my appointment was to start, the doctor came in. To his credit he was warm, knowledgeable and thorough. He explained my options and gave me handouts and sent me on my way. I was maybe with him, all total, 15-20 minutes for which I got to pay $145 for the pleasure of waiting a hour.
Overall, I was disappointed in the time I had to wait, the amount I had to pay to be seen for 15-20 minutes and the curtness of the assistant.

  • Dr. Barinowski has been my physician for several years, and I have been seeing her more frequently in the past two years to manage diabetes, hypertension and other concerns. She and everyone in her office are more available and communicate better than any physician that I have ever had in the past. She listens to my concerns and takes them into consideration. I feel like she welcomes my participation in choosing treatment. Also she seems genuinely excited about positive results, and
    encouraging about future ones.
I also saw Dr. Schmidt for an appointment on short notice recently and found him to be equally receptive and considerate.
Stacy and the rest of the staff are also receptive and helpful. I am wary of medications, and appreciate the reassurance and adjustments that they are willing to make to prescriptions based on my experiences. They communicate very well with the pharmacy I prefer also.
Lastly, like most people, I am concerned about the costs of my health care. I am grateful that I can speak to that concern with Dr. Barinowski and her staff, and that they take that into consideration when writing prescriptions, scheduling tests and screenings, referrals, and offering alternatives like diet and exercise before medication.
I highly recommend this office for anyone looking for a new general physician!

  • Dr. Fred Merrill is a great doctor however I have to wait on him for at least and hour every time I go. One day it was two hours before I was seen. I brought this to his attention and he said that he was very sorry for the delay. I have been a patient for almost five years .

  • Dr Moore is very attentive, adapts to patient preferences, provides excellent care, and have a fantastic memory. Her PA is excellent also. Always bubbly and positive. I have seen Dr Moore for annual exams, for injuries, for cortizone shots, for colds, for allergies, for pain. She has always been knowledgeable, helpful, and caring.

  • I have a very sensitive 3 year old son who HATES being left with anyone he doesn't know extremely well. I was really worried about leaving him at a center but luckily he's loved it. The women who run the 3 yr old room are absolutely amazing and have more patience than I could even dream of having. The kids have breakfast, snack, outdoor play, naps, and free play. They are also taught a letter and a number each week with show and tell for the letter on Thursdays. I am thoroughly impressed.

  • They are very good. Dr. Shireen Moore is my doctor and she is excellent. She takes her time, she is very empathetic and she knows her stuff but when she talks to me, she makes sure I understand, unlike some other doctors that talk to you like you had been in the medical school too. She explains things for the layman to understand so she has excellent communication skills.

  • The staff and doctors were very professional and friendly, but I saw a cockroach in one of the treatment rooms while waiting for the doctor. One time I tried to get an appointment for my 1 year old who had gotten sick- I called at about 10am and was told they didn't have anything available and to contact urgent care.
